Thank You. Went to a Brethern wedding of friends. Short & Sweet wedding & reception. Everyone happy, beautiful cake, no alcohol, no music, no dancing. All very kind and friendly. Sometimes I think others mistake strict guidelines as harsh or not fun. Not really, avoiding alcohol, smoking, or modern secular 'music' promotes good physical and mental health. Very happy young couple - God Bless them with joy & many healthy children !

Could somebody tell me what the differences between churches of the brethren and the brethren in Christ are?
BIC was an offshoot of certain Anabaptists, including COB and Mennonites and has more of a Wesleyan/holiness influence.

Brethren in Christ are not descendants of the Scwarzenau Brethren, but are the modernized/assimilated branch of the River Brethren movement. To understand all of our similarities and differences, I recommend you to look up “Schwarzenau Brethren” and “River Brethren” on Wikipedia. Whenever another split or branching off is mentioned, the new church name is usually listed there in blue, which means you can click on that to go to a new page for more information. Better many churches of sincere believers than one single church of false doctrines and idols.
I'm part of the Interstate and foreign Landmark Baptist Association which also practices feetwashing. Independent Baptist do not practice the Bible teaching of feetwashing. We also believe in anointing the sick with oil.
About the time you made this video the Covenant Brethren Church was formed, a conservative offshoot of the CoB hoping to stem the tide of theological liberalism and apostacy in the CoB and provide an alternative for those who still hold to Biblical truth.

@spencer zuercher you made an accusation of bad faith on the part of those who formed the CBC. Please back that up with factual data, as I was involved in the process and know precisely what happened. The CoB leadership never once acted in good faith or even obeyed their own polity and policies, but has stood against conservative leaders and members at every step of the way, and still does. They continue to spread false witness and misinformation, which is hardly the "love, tolerance, and forebearace" they claim to live by and ask of others.
Now, ask me the reasons the CBC was formed after many years of striving for repentance in the CoB.
I think the offshoot of CBC was difficult for many of the churches that stayed, in part because of the wide variance of beliefs from church to church. Many districts felt a bit blindsided by the sudden break away, especially after the BRF and Annual Conference were in active dialogue of how to reconcile churches with different views. I know, at least in my district, there were many frustrated members because they felt that this offshoot violated the "no secret meetings" and shut themselves off to further denominational peacemaking attempts
The liberal Brethren denomination? I was looking for an overview of the United Brethren in Christ denomination.

If Mack believed baptism at the time "baptized him into the church" he would have to believe he wasn't a Christian until then, and so are you sure it is right? Did he really say that? Sounds not much better than the sacerdotalist heresy of Eastern Orthodoxy.
Ronald Gordon of COB-NET puts it this way:
They believed that they had been baptized into the church established by Jesus himself and did not perceive of themselves as establishing a new denomination.
The view is of their entrance into this "church" so-called, not into the family of God, which COB do not believe takes place through baptism, but at salvation.
Baptism to the Brethren (COB) is an outward sign and symbol of an inward experience, between the person and God, and is much more about joining the church, not a way to be a christian, or a way to or mark of salvation.

Which Brethren are in New Zealand and Australia?
There are several, but one of the more controversial ones that has received some attention is the Raven-Taylor-Hales Exclusive Brethren, also knows as the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Brethren_Christian_Church) They are not the same as the church of the brethren mentioned in this video.
