I have met Rick a couple times and he is such a genuine kind guy. You just gotta feel bad for him at this point. Imo he is top 3 discgolfer RN and All time
When he should have taken medicine to quickly and completely cure his Lyme disease. But he did not. One of the dumbest things ever done by a professional athlete. The disease was more than capable of completely ending his career. Lost a lot of respect for Ricky over this.
They are not advertising him right. They could max him out, make him as big as his game. Ricky top 3 greatest all time. Ricky is elite athlete. And he will be huge again this year.
I think this year is Ricky's year for a major!! The other thing I like about Ricky is his RUclips vids. He explains every shot and why he does it and it helps me on the course as well. Connor O'Reilly vids are helpful too.
Rickey was the only one who would beat Paul regularly. Had his number you could say. Some of the best Tournaments to watch were those 2 battling it out. Ricky is 3 years younger than Paul he's got a few years left to try to do something before he's 30
you can ask him if the Tour card players are getting tired of playing such long courses? The Beast down in Waco, Texas is the shortest course on tour lately and a lot of us fans of disc golf want to see a lot more and "different" courses being played that are 7,000 feet long instead of 10-12,000 feet long
Honestly, this is not a popular opinion, but I think at the end of both careers, I'll argue for Ricky over Paul...based on his whole career. Ricky hasn't slowed down.
I don’t think this video is a slight against Ricky. But more about his insane consistency as a player and even though he’s improved so much he somehow sadly hasn’t been the clear #1 player. He’s definitely one of my favorites.
Falling short of being a billionaire maybe.. But disc golf, good gosh, Ricky slapping pros around every weekend. I'd say, 99 % trade skills immediately. Sounds like a little jealous. Ricky puts on a show, Ricky don't front and fake, he just plays. Only one of the top 3 to ever play. Could be best. He still can beat best in world by 10, and Nobody would flinch. Anyone want to wager next gig he's in? I bet he goes top 5 in any event you pick.
Simple, , roughly all single player sports pick which tourney, events are considered "more prestige" than others. That's why....golf tennis, pool, poker, hores racing just to name a few has its Majors, Championships etc... they're called Titles and a handful are worth more than the rest... It just bees that way!!
Love the Bitcoin bashing when it drops some. The implication seems to be Ricky’s recent Bitcoin drop parallels how stupid he is when he received his 2022 contract the price was 36K and it did recently drop pretty hard down to 97k.
@@jayjames8026the above commenter is clueless. Ricky has been a popular favorite for a decade and I guarantee is a top five ever when it comes to moving discs.
If you don't understand the difference between a major and the rest of the tourneys you are exposing yourself as someone who has never competed at a high level.
Majors count for more because they simply mean more both to players and viewers. They have the best, most motivated fields of players and are 4-5 round (in the past longer) events that ensure the cream rises to the top. They mean more because players want them more due to the prestige of winning an M and joining the history books in historic tournaments. Players want to win USDGC the same way that golfers want to win the masters. The masters btw is the newest major in golf and the PDGA was trying to build that before the unfortunate situation with the pine beetles. Obviously having champions cup in Stockton is not ideal but that certainly was not their first choice, but in 2050 will anyone remember/care about the 2025 tournament after it has been held in Georgia over and over? The Masters in the early years didn't give out a green jacket and no one cares or remembers that, it takes time to build a legacy. Speaking of legacy, Rick is an incredible player and a Hall of Fame lock, but you cannot say that he is on the same level as McBeth/Climo when he has won 1/3 their amount of majors. Its the same reason why Brian Schweberge, who has 400 pro wins (200 A tiers), isn't on the same level as Rick.
I think you need to do some number checking on Ricky. He and Paul were tied in Tournament wins, and 4 of Paul's world titles Ricky was second place. If I remember correctly that 10 year run of Paul and Ricky between the two of them . ( when Paul started, Ricky is 3 yrs younger). They won all the tournaments. So I would put Ricky as one of the best
@@michaelr1397 I'm not saying he's not one of the best, I said he's a HOF lock. I'm simply saying he isn't the same as Climo/McBeth. He hasn't won anywhere near as much when the lights are brightest and that is a real knock on him. If he wins maybe 3-4 more majors in this harder era (and paul falls off and doesn't) and he keeps up this competitiveness for another lets say 5 years, then I am willing to reconsider. Until then, there IS a clear difference in their resumes.
Ricky is the man. Absolutely love his play style.
Ricky is a fking boss. The arbitrary "major VS big" for wins is dumb. Ricky has been dominant for years and years. He's mastered.
Ricky is one of the GOATs
I have met Rick a couple times and he is such a genuine kind guy. You just gotta feel bad for him at this point. Imo he is top 3 discgolfer RN and All time
he got Lyme disease and was out for a while which derailed his momentum and he had to climb back up.

Awesome player and very humble guy. He’s getting another major. Can’t wait for it!
Rick's the man and hes still got alot of top tier play left in him
I think this year is Ricky's year for a major!!

"He takes care of fern, so he's essentially a dad" 🤣🤣🤣
Ricky is the man. Love his energy.
No doubt, Ricky is one of the best.
Ricky is a friend of mine. Myself, find it funny people trying to talk down what he’s done in his career, but they will never achieve what he’s done.

Ricardo es bueno

Ricky is a beast, now and forever
Rickey’s course preview/ run through videos are so informative! If you want to learn how to be a thinking player watch his videos!
ricky is built different, that major is coming IMO. Just wait!!
Ricky I’d the peoples champ!

Ricky is a great thinking golfer (like McBeth), and sharp in his form. But age is relentless. Gannon and Niklas and Isaac are inevitable.
Ultra Competitive Soirit, World Champ
He's not selling any discs. Just like when he was on Innova
this is very much not true. he sells tons of plastic.

Everyone in our DG league has at least one Ricky disc in their bag. Heck, I even still carry a Destroyer with his name on it. I also have a Harp.
His monthly subscription box was a big hit.

ya u r wrong major r more important that just how it is bro 😂
B/c so much of disc golf's terminology was taken from regular golf and majors are held so high in that sport. Just another reason to ignore ball golf
Wow, Alot of The Disc golf Worlds content these days are just bad, Like they make these horrible reaches and awful takes and they suck now
Ricky wins at least twice next year.
WOLRDS IS ABOVE ALLE11
