Who Should Own Energy Production with Otsile Nkadimeng - Hotspot Climate Series

We need to transition away from carbon based energy production as quickly as possible. But who should 'own' these projects? Privatising energy production means profit becomes the driving force behind the transition, and this happens at the expense of the people. Major energy projects should serve the people, not the shareholders.

What is needed is a process to use what we have in abundance, stabilize it . Determine true demand first , project future demand statistically inclusive of future growth , commence to build renewable plants to amplify supply, and then start to decommission the old plants . This should be a continuous process without end
