I switch up the Trem/Reverb before songs if I need a different color. This post is making me want to explore it more! Great Tones!
It would have been cool to see an expanded use of the USB-C like a power supply/digital mixer where the first Strymon pedal does the A/D conversion and the signal remains digital until the last Strymon pedal which does the D/A conversion.
@@carnivaltym So I think what he means is all digital pedals need to do Analog to Digital conversion. So instead of going through AD/DA and going to another digital that does AD/DA conversions and so on it would be awesome to pass audio through usb-c through all the strymon pedals and only have the last pedal in the chain do the Digital to Analog conversion. In turn less degradation to audio signal. Interesting indeed but not sure if it's worth the effort for strymon from ROI perspective :).

I'm curious about the Version. What is the difference between V1 and V2? Is it just the ability to use MIDI? I love my V1..I am finally learning how to get all the goodness out of it. Your video is the thing that sold me. It just sounds so damn good! Thanks!
Trem speed can go slower, pre-delay can be changed on reverb now, external switch to go from mono to stereo, MIDI, apparently the reverb sounds brighter
@strymon Damn! I just got a new Flint! I might have to upgrade! Do these new ones still have analog dry through? Also, when you guys upgrade Nixie (as the main release video stated), will you be able to use it to edit on other pedals like Compadre, Sunset, etc?
Beautiful sounds ! I got the first version that I love but I don't like the factory pre-delay setting on the 70s & 80s reverbs. Could you tell me if we can reduce the pre-delay on the new version ? Or just increase ? (I saw the manual and it said, when the pot is on 0, it's the default setting... I don't know what to understand.) Thank you very much !
From Sean: "The 4 Wheel Drive is a custom guitar that luthier Lynn Wheelright build for me in 1991 or so, but it was stolen and broken into a bunch of different pieces 25 years ago. I got the pieces back soon after, and LA-based luthier Greg Back glued it back together in 2019 and made it even cooler. The back of the guitar looks like Frankenstein got hold of it." @@strymonwhat a great story! It looks awesome and sounds wonderful with your playing. I bought one of these pedals recently and love it to bits! I’m a keys player and run my Rhodes Mk1 through it.
@strymon I have a question. Can you control the Flint’s MIDI from a Timeline, by using a MIDI/EXP cable between the two pedals? I mainly want to use it for tap tempo and possibly preset scrolling.
You can use a MIDI EXP cable to transmit MIDI to Flint, yes. If set correctly, you can make it so that when you scroll presets up/down on TimeLine, Flint will also go up and down its corresponding presets. That being said, it will not generate its own clock to send to Flint. If using a dedicated MIDI controller to control both, TimeLine will relay incoming MIDI clock however. For more details on setting this up, please email support@strymon.net - thanks!
Damn I wish I had the cheddar for even just one Strymon pedal. You guys make great stuff, I've never had the fortune of actually playing anything from your company which is a shame cuz I'm in full support, and it doesn't seem that there's a single Strymon item that isn't full quality
Completely agree. I'm currently comparing the Flint, Fender Tre-verb, and Keeley Hydra, both of which are stereo panning tremolo. I'll keep the one I like best and return the other two.
HELP...NO STEREO MODE. I changed the internal pin and everything. I even tried D.I. by itself and I get some stereo from the reverb side...none on the tremolo channel alone. Anyone have any idea what it could be?????????????
