A4 paper measures 8.3 x 11.7 inches. You can use standard US copier paper, which measures 8.5 x 11 inches, instead. Just disregard measuring for the lines he draws, and fold appropriately, like you would for traditional origami.

All the other steps stay the same and in the end the bag will have a square base with the dimensions you used and the height depends on the length of the longer side of paper
