There are THOUSANDS of M83 fans that don't really know the music or the story at all. my dad would put this album on when i was a kid and whenever he would, i'd imagine i was some kind of a superhero, running across the night city, alone. Now i'm a freshman and during one of my night conversations with my best friends from school i told them about it. They found it really interesting and now we're creating a whole universe based on this idea, for me - based on this album. We are running across the city at night, no longer alone, no longer misunderstood. I think it's really pretty :')
This album was amazing when it was first released, but it has since taken on a new meaning for me... a very close friend of mine died tragically in a motorcycle accident at the age of 27, just last week. If we ever spoke of M83 it was only once or twice... it was definitely not his preferred choice of music... but for whatever reason I found myself coming back to this album and damn near every song reminds me of him... I am simultaneously overcome with sadness and full of joy for being lucky enough to have known him. Thank you to M83 for making such wonderful music and thank you Brian for being such a great friend. I will miss you forever, brother.

this song fits so perfectly in the scene where suddenly elliot and mr robot start cooperating and figure the situation out and fix what happened. was so simple a scene but it felt so emotional, massively because of this music. holy hell such a good sound.

The only time not reading is an acceptable response, is when someone is talking shit in a long multi paragraphed essay. And most important of all, savored each life thats important to me, so I can never say, espcially at the end, I have forgotten my mother and fathers faces. I remember when I was 14-16 years old. At that time I was at high school in Brazil during the pandemic, studying remotely. At that time, I had a dream: Work in the science field to help humanity reach the outer space. I was considering Biological Science course at first, and even thought about doing Aerospace Engineering. I was full of dreams, studying about our Solar System, Rockets, imagining some Spaceships, Astronauts suits... These thoughts would keep me awake at night, creating stories, studying... But with time, I realized that being a astronaut or working in that field is really hard. In Brazil, we have no space agency (matter of fact, our president said it's dumb for billionaires to fly rocket ships instead of helping the poor). I am a older child of a low-medium income... So I kind of abandoned that dream... But the dream never abandoned me. In the end I decided to do Software Engineering. I fell in love with programming in general, to the point of coding projects for fun instead of playing videogames or whatever. These songs (and specially this album) is pretty important to me. I used to listen and have goosebumps with this song. When I was 14 I'd turn of all lights, put it on max volume on my headphones and fly, imagining myself in the International Space Station, flying to the moon... Now, 5 years later, I am here coding. I don't know how, or why, but I feel like I should not give up about my dream. And, coincidence or not, a girl I don't know, never heard of, started following me on insta. I thought it was a bot or a prank, but no, she is real hahaa. We started reacting to each other stories, than talking, chatting, calling each other. She is Christian (I am too), she lives to a state close to mine (around 100km of distance). And guess what? She is doing Aerospace Engineering, even visited the ESA in Europe. I don't know what plans God have for me, or us, but this is connected! I feel like this will happen! My dream is not dead!

I was playing GTA V recently once again and midnight city came to the radio. I had never paid much attention to the song but this time it just struck a cord. I went online to find who were the geniuses behind this. Came across M83 that way.

@@cfssuperhero I think I get his point. Its worth the read. I will never get why people thinks its cool and trendy, not to read something. Your just making ourself look a dippshit. The only time not reading is an acceptable response, is when someone is talking shit in a long multi paragraphed essay.
Because its the one way to truly punch everyones button after putting thought heart or anger, into whatever they have written. So ou really are only doing yourself a disservice, because what that person wrote, is actually really beatiful. The point is that every second, of everyday, life is happening all around us, at an alarming rate. If you gotta go through life bagging on people to feel good about yourself, and rushing past anything tedious or that actually takes attention and time, you are missing out on any possible wisdom and robbing yourself of that wisdom. Because most people, younger ones, act like it will never happen to them, they will never be like the people they see as old.
I never thought Id make it past the age 25. I oouldnt imagine life at 30. But I stopped, at every turn, to make sure I got a look at what I was doing, where id been, and use it for where im going. and today, I mostl have it all figured out, and I can only coniute to learn and grow as a cosmic human.
Fom everything i read, listened to, the places ive been, the homes i left behind. The beautiful girls ive loved over a life time, and the women I married.
I stop, and memorize every line, every crevice, and I savor every second of my life, so at the end I can go saying: At least I lived, and absorbed every possible experience.
How many of you, actually stop to take a breath, and take a look from the outside in, and everything On the outside?
Ive stayed behind and memorized my old rooms, saved any bit of information I wanted to store, read everything i can. And most important of all, savored each life thats important to me, so I can never say, espcially at the end, I have forgotten my mother and fathers faces.
Just appriciating their existence, and my wifes existence, is why I can die knowing, Im glad i didnt skip nothing.

Doing another rewatch and I'm always amazed by how well M83's music was utilized on Mr. Robot. Especially season three's finale and the series finale.

I remember when I was 14-16 years old. At that time I was at high school in Brazil during the pandemic, studying remotely. At that time, I had a dream: Work in the science field to help humanity reach the outer space. I was considering Biological Science course at first, and even thought about doing Aerospace Engineering. I was full of dreams, studying about our Solar System, Rockets, imagining some Spaceships, Astronauts suits... These thoughts would keep me awake at night, creating stories, studying... But with time, I realized that being a astronaut or working in that field is really hard.
In Brazil, we have no space agency (matter of fact, our president said it's dumb for billionaires to fly rocket ships instead of helping the poor). I am a older child of a low-medium income... So I kind of abandoned that dream... But the dream never abandoned me.
In the end I decided to do Software Engineering. I fell in love with programming in general, to the point of coding projects for fun instead of playing videogames or whatever.
These songs (and specially this album) is pretty important to me. I used to listen and have goosebumps with this song. When I was 14 I'd turn of all lights, put it on max volume on my headphones and fly, imagining myself in the International Space Station, flying to the moon...
Now, 5 years later, I am here coding. I don't know how, or why, but I feel like I should not give up about my dream. And, coincidence or not, a girl I don't know, never heard of, started following me on insta. I thought it was a bot or a prank, but no, she is real hahaa. We started reacting to each other stories, than talking, chatting, calling each other. She is Christian (I am too), she lives to a state close to mine (around 100km of distance). And guess what? She is doing Aerospace Engineering, even visited the ESA in Europe. I don't know what plans God have for me, or us, but this is connected! I feel like this will happen! My dream is not dead!
