I genuinely think that Twice is underrated musically speaking. Many people only see the cute and young side of the group from their title songs, but they have a lot of nice songs in b-side that show more personality of the girls. And the members actually participated in the production more that many people have realized.
Guilty because I only loved the group for their good dancing and I would only listen to their main title but when I tried EWO, I actually started loving their music including the b-sides.
They are mainly underrated by the critics and until EWO, they did not even get rated highly except MTV acknowledging LOVE FOOLISH of FS album Also many Kpop fans outside ONCES don't regard them highly in terms of musicality and funny enough I think they are underrated overall even tho they are one of the BEST SELLING KPOP GG of all time I hope more musicians do react to their discography especially Bsides !!
I really enjoyed "Eyes Wide Open." It was the album that finally got me into Twice, and somehow made me appreciate their earlier music more. "Hell in Heaven" is easily my favorite track on the album, its got this playful feel to the backing music, yet a sense of longing or melancholy to the vocals. I love the interconnected nature of the track, the array of little bites of sound that form its whole, and how the vocals get woven into the mix. It all adds up to one of my favorite tracks of(maybe my favorite things about) 2020.
I had a very similar experience. I've listened to Twice's releases as they came out since their debut, but I never considered myself a fan. I enjoyed most of their title tracks to some degree, but was never really crazy about their music. This album, however, is amazing. For me, even after listening to thousands of albums in 2020, Eyes Wide Open is one of the best albums of that year. I do hope they keep going in this direction, because--and I didn't think I'd ever say this--I might just become a real fan of Twice. In any case I'm definitely a fan of this album and have a lot of respect for Twice pulling it off so well.

i feel like this song is like a jungle run, with twice (the prey) being chased by their love interest (the predator), and with each verse and addition of layers and textures, twice is being closed in on by the predator. the myriad of instrumentation kind of represents the different animals in the jungle just watching this pursuit with interest. it's so fascinating how these sounds convey such a vivid story
I really love TWICE's latests albuns (Fancy You, Feel Special, &TWICE, More & More, Eyes Wide Open), this isn't even the best to me and is still super amazing. I think is also cool to mention that even though this song wasn't wrote by a member, other 6 songs were, and the other albuns were almost all songs composed by them. You should really consider making more of those (if you already isn't), B-Sides like Up No More, Love Foolish, Turn It Up, Strawberry, Say Something, Trick It, HOT, Get Loud, Oxygen are really interesting!

i mean, all the b-sides of twice's eyes wide open 2nd full album are all literally good! the melodies, rhythms, styles, vocals, and etc. are on point. it's even more special because half of the songs in the track was written by the members.

FINALLY! I love this song so much. Aside from its sound, it's so worthy of an MV. Let's be honest, this song should have had a pre-release MV for the album. The MV for I can't stop me had so much random concepts that it could have been divided for two MVs. ICSM MV should be full on retro including the train scene, subway scene, Jeongyeon's motor scene. HIH MV would have the two persona scenes, the lotus flower scene, and Sana and Mina's elegant scenes. I'm just sayin', the MV for ICSM was just so weirdly incohesive that no story could be seen.

The first time I heard Hell in Heaven was through Alexa, and her speakers did not do justice the bassline soundscape that the musicians in this video pertain to. It really was a whole other experience when I listened to it with earphones with decent bass and HOLY SHIT this song really is on another artistic level. I'm so proud of TWICE for exploring different music themes. I love them so much! 🥲
Eyes Wide Open is one the best albums of 2020. Still can't decide whether that one or Dreamcatcher Dystopia The Tree of Language. And I'd say maybe even one the best (girl groups) k-pop albums of all time. Both of these. Not a single song to skip. 2020 was a huge year for female idols and artists. Many great albums have been released. In addition to the above two I'd like to recommend Yukika Soul Lady. City pop at its best! (Can't wait for your reaction video on May)
Honestly this is one of my favourite albums ever. Like rarely do I [really] like even half the songs from any full length albums, of literally any genre. Every song from this album slaps for me and went to the main playlist!

This is my favorite Twice release and Hell in Heaven is one of my favorite songs from it! It's a far departure from their usual sound and vibe, and I appreciate the experimentation.

i mean, all the b-sides of twice's eyes wide open 2nd full album are all literally good! the melodies, rhythms, styles, vocals, and etc. are on point. it's even more special because half of the songs in the track was written by the members.

Let's be honest, this song should have had a pre-release MV for the album.
The MV for I can't stop me had so much random concepts that it could have been divided for two MVs.
ICSM MV should be full on retro including the train scene, subway scene, Jeongyeon's motor scene.
HIH MV would have the two persona scenes, the lotus flower scene, and Sana and Mina's elegant scenes.
I'm just sayin', the MV for ICSM was just so weirdly incohesive that no story could be seen.

I've been vibing with it a lot and i couldn't pinpoint what felt so different about it that i didn't have in their other tracks and you made me realize it's all those different rythms that could stand alone but work so well together added to that really playful topline
The first time I heard Hell in Heaven was through Alexa, and her speakers did not do justice the bassline soundscape that the musicians in this video pertain to.
It really was a whole other experience when I listened to it with earphones with decent bass and HOLY SHIT this song really is on another artistic level. I'm so proud of TWICE for exploring different music themes. I love them so much! 🥲

Eyes Wide Open is one the best albums of 2020. Still can't decide whether that one or Dreamcatcher Dystopia The Tree of Language.
And I'd say maybe even one the best (girl groups) k-pop albums of all time. Both of these. Not a single song to skip.
2020 was a huge year for female idols and artists. Many great albums have been released. In addition to the above two I'd like to recommend Yukika Soul Lady. City pop at its best! (Can't wait for your reaction video on May)

Honestly this is one of my favourite albums ever. Like rarely do I [really] like even half the songs from any full length albums, of literally any genre. Every song from this album slaps for me and went to the main playlist!

Twice became popular because of their cute concepts, that is what they known for, but when they tried to experiment to other concepts like this and outside cute concepts all of a sudden they became underrated.

I'm a fan of Twice and Hell in Heaven is one of my favorite B-Sides from Eyes Wide Open. Absolutely appreciate how Ju Yeong and Jason gave their honest inputs.
