I genuinely think that Twice is underrated musically speaking. Many people only see the cute and young side of the group from their title songs, but they have a lot of nice songs in b-side that show more personality of the girls. And the members actually participated in the production more that many people have realized.
Guilty because I only loved the group for their good dancing and I would only listen to their main title but when I tried EWO, I actually started loving their music including the b-sides.
They are mainly underrated by the critics and until EWO, they did not even get rated highly except MTV acknowledging LOVE FOOLISH of FS album
Also many Kpop fans outside ONCES don't regard them highly in terms of musicality and funny enough I think they are underrated overall even tho they are one of the BEST SELLING KPOP GG of all time
I hope more musicians do react to their discography especially Bsides !!

*this has got to be one of the most unique song in twice discography, the fact that it has no main synth melody like other kpop songs besides the congo and percussion drums and the minimal sounds and drums on the chorus while the girls sang so calmly makes it even more unique..it's like "make me go" and "Love Foolish" in the jungle 🔥🔥🔥*

I really enjoyed "Eyes Wide Open." It was the album that finally got me into Twice, and somehow made me appreciate their earlier music more. "Hell in Heaven" is easily my favorite track on the album, its got this playful feel to the backing music, yet a sense of longing or melancholy to the vocals. I love the interconnected nature of the track, the array of little bites of sound that form its whole, and how the vocals get woven into the mix. It all adds up to one of my favorite tracks of(maybe my favorite things about) 2020.

I had a very similar experience. I've listened to Twice's releases as they came out since their debut, but I never considered myself a fan. I enjoyed most of their title tracks to some degree, but was never really crazy about their music. This album, however, is amazing. For me, even after listening to thousands of albums in 2020, Eyes Wide Open is one of the best albums of that year. I do hope they keep going in this direction, because--and I didn't think I'd ever say this--I might just become a real fan of Twice. In any case I'm definitely a fan of this album and have a lot of respect for Twice pulling it off so well.

This is so far the best album TWICE ever gave us. They experimented a lot in this album and it turned out very well. The whole album is very iconic

This album was so good. Every time I listen to it always wonder what would react to the k say about this progression or these chords.

Most people see in twice was only a tip of an iceberg. There B-side was magnificent and incredible.
There music is like a harmony of different sounds that mirror their voice and personality
Also applies to Twice members in general. What most outsiders don't know is that Twice has also participated in songwriting.

I think the instrument is a kalimba because kalimba right now its kinda a popular instrument in there because its easy to carry kalimba everywhere

i feel like this song is like a jungle run, with twice (the prey) being chased by their love interest (the predator), and with each verse and addition of layers and textures, twice is being closed in on by the predator. the myriad of instrumentation kind of represents the different animals in the jungle just watching this pursuit with interest. it's so fascinating how these sounds convey such a vivid story

Eyes wide open is a masterpiece from the beginning to end exploring many genre in a single album you can get heavy Retro based songs like Say something(City pop), up no more and title track I can’t stop me, Arabic music inspired Go hard, Edm/Tropical house songs Do what we like, Believer, Bring it back, depend on you Rnb soul song Behind the mask, Handle it March band/ Hip hop inspired Shot Clock, Jazz inspired Queen
I really love TWICE's latests albuns (Fancy You, Feel Special, &TWICE, More & More, Eyes Wide Open), this isn't even the best to me and is still super amazing. I think is also cool to mention that even though this song wasn't wrote by a member, other 6 songs were, and the other albuns were almost all songs composed by them.
You should really consider making more of those (if you already isn't), B-Sides like Up No More, Love Foolish, Turn It Up, Strawberry, Say Something, Trick It, HOT, Get Loud, Oxygen are really interesting!

It took a while before i got hooked in twice music... don't get me wrong, their famous releases are A BOP...but it was not really my cup of tea. Eyes wide open literally OPENED MY EYES WIDE in amazement. I was so impressed by their album! And then a follow up for cry for me?! Wait hold up--

Can we sit a second to talk how good is this album ? Like I always was a fan of Twice, being there everytime they comebacked, but I never listened to their B-side bc I wasn't convinced by their early mini-albums but OMG this album just made me fall in love completly with Twice. Going from ICSM, to Hell in Heaven to Up No More justmade me speechless ! I can't wait to see their next release

I really appreciated that callout as well. Idk about the more recent reaction videos, but I've never heard any of the reacttothek reactors just say that a song for the review wasn't interesting enough. Um, anybody that follows this channel already knows that they have such a huge backlog of songs to review, we already expect that the songs being chosen for this channel would be more musically "interesting." Even if a song isn't their cup of tea, I think the certain individuals need to study more before giving "musical feedback" for this channel.

It's so interesting how the reactors said it was more of a latin beat meanwhile I mainly loved the song since I felt it was dark something completely different that they've done duality wise I feel like it's the farthest away from their cheerful vibes.

TWICE bsides are a gold mine once you stop being a judgemental person due to their bubbly title tracks

I feel like this is for those who truly know and understand their style of music. You can hear the full growth of them and as a once, i loved this one a lot on the first listen itself. Probably my favorite song of them after the first listen.

i mean, all the b-sides of twice's eyes wide open 2nd full album are all literally good! the melodies, rhythms, styles, vocals, and etc. are on point. it's even more special because half of the songs in the track was written by the members.
now THAT'S some real reaction video! some ppl only do kpop reaction videos cuz they know it brings many views and followers, but i like to see how deep you went on your analysis

FINALLY! I love this song so much. Aside from its sound, it's so worthy of an MV.
Let's be honest, this song should have had a pre-release MV for the album.
The MV for I can't stop me had so much random concepts that it could have been divided for two MVs.
ICSM MV should be full on retro including the train scene, subway scene, Jeongyeon's motor scene.
HIH MV would have the two persona scenes, the lotus flower scene, and Sana and Mina's elegant scenes.
I'm just sayin', the MV for ICSM was just so weirdly incohesive that no story could be seen.

2020 was a huge year for female idols and artists. Many great albums have been released. In addition to the above two I'd like to recommend Yukika Soul Lady. City pop at its best! (Can't wait for your reaction video on May)

The first time I heard Hell in Heaven was through Alexa, and her speakers did not do justice the bassline soundscape that the musicians in this video pertain to.
It really was a whole other experience when I listened to it with earphones with decent bass and HOLY SHIT this song really is on another artistic level. I'm so proud of TWICE for exploring different music themes. I love them so much! 🥲
I kinda feel like HELL IN HEAVEN should’ve been in the MORE & MORE mini album. M&M is full of Latin and has that very tropical vibe especially the sidetrack FIREWORK. I recommend reacting to it.

Hell in Heaven is defo my fav from Eyes Wide Open because it thematically links More & More (Twice in eden, eating an apple by the end) and I Can't Stop Me (being tempted to cross the "line" between heaven/hell or self-control/succumbing to desire)!! To me, the combo of sparseness/disjoined instruments in Hell in Heaven makes me feel like Twice has already "crossed" into the other side - which can represent dark temptation but also a maturity (since they've slowly moved away from their cutesy puppy love songs towards darker themes in romance).
Twice's music is so overlooked imo, Eyes Wide Open was so solid and has such a dedication to storytelling thru the album sequencing!! ❤️❤️❤️

Twice became popular because of their cute concepts, that is what they known for, but when they tried to experiment to other concepts like this and outside cute concepts all of a sudden they became underrated.
