one of my first exposures to garage music. Apart from the funky bass and smoking vocal, there is a synth string chord stack which gives a lot of soul for the track. It provides much tension and release how the chord nuances and sounds in unison with the vocal and bass. They added a lot of different jazzy chords throughout the song.
One of my top 5 garage tracks .. Luurved up 1996 Bakers nightclub Birmingham 19th Birthday :-)
I used to go around then too

Daniel Pereira a great first record 🙋👌👍
sounds a little like Daft Punk's remix of "Chord Memory" by Ian Pooley
You mean "Chord Memory," which came out a year after "Make It Funky," sounds like this.
Anyone have the actual lyrics for this song? I found them once, but can't seem to find them now.
