    "This is how we castle in modern chess . There is no need to castle , we simply waste three moves and bring our king to safety " - agadmator .
    Gregory oparin , the originator of the modern castling must be happy to being emulated by none other than Firouzja . 😁

    • @EthanBradley1231
      @EthanBradley1231 2 года назад +5

      My favorite thing about this castling maneuver is that it arguably didn't waste any time. If you want your king and rook on b8 and c8 specifically, then to do that with castling would require moving the queen out of the way, then castling, then moving the king over a square, and finally moving the rook over a square. Compared to what Alireza did, the only difference is that he left the queen on d8, which could be seen as a loss of time if he wanted the queen off of d8, but if he liked it there then moving the queen to allow castling would have been the real waste of time.

    • @johnwamsley1896
