- my visit to the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway this weekend
An absolutely wonderful little Railway that opened my eyes and imagination to miniature Steam.
I am going outside now to measure the garden 😂😂

Perhaps next time you decide to visit the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway Jen, you could plan it as part of a longer excursion down to the South and South East as a 5 day mini break, by also visiting The Bluebell Railway, The Spa Valley Railway, The Kent & East Sussex Railway and finally The Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway.
Now that could turn into an epic mini break. 👍

I visit this miniature railway quite regularly as it is not far from where I live. I tend to choose days where the weather is drier, though! It is a lovely area to visit, especially when they put on their anyone r something new to see and film. Well worth a visit if anywhere near the Southampton area (it's close to Southampton Airport and Parkway station).
It is a lovely Railway. Unfortunately I couldn't choose a dry weather day due to day off and travelling down etc...but! The sun came out lunchtime and stayed so was much more like summer in the afternoon session
Nice one Jen. I've yet to visit the Eastleigh Lakeside Railway even though many moons ago I was in the area. I'll add it to my list. Another that I can recommend is the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch railway right on the SE coast, The Bluebell railway that is standard gauge isn't too far away from that either. I did notice during the week that the SVR has sold a Black Five 45110 to a mystery buyer. I guess they are boxing her up for you for future standard gauge layout. She might be a tad difficult to post through the letter box though. Many thanks for sharing.
It's in my shed 😂😂 or do I mean in Westcoast shed at Carnforth 😂😂 I definitely recommend a visit to Eastleigh...I hope to return!

Wonderfull stuff. That old clickity click sound is really something special. It reminds me of my childhood visits to the Fairbourne railway on the west Wales coast, a railway and town that has some hard times ahead if the seas do rise. As I was watching your video I was also following you on Google maps. Incidentally my local railway is the Llangollen Railway, (the big stuff 😄) and that has now reached its goal which it started in the 70s of reaching a village 10 miles away called Corwen. Hurray, it's been a long slog for them.

Nice video. I live fairly close but never been there. Next time you venture south you can also try Moors Valley Railway and Swanage, of course. Martin

You need to visit Cumbria for the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway. You can get the full steam experience if you ride in the open carriages.
It is on my long list of places to visit. I loved Eastleigh so definitely will try another 💕
I used to go there a lot, it's a great place, it has a really nice vibe. Also Exbury Gardens Rly has charming scenery and superb stock (NG outline).
My dad always wanted a ride-on NG line, but in the end we settled for SM32 live steam for his garden line. The sound and smells are nearly as good as their bigger counterparts😊

Hi Jen, Another interesting video. Did you take the opportunity to visit Eastleigh mainline station as there is quite a varied amount of traffic that can be seen there.
