What I like about this show is that it was very American but it gave recognition to celebs who were international and came from non-English speaking countries.
This wonderful actor even now in his senior years sweats class, sophistication, and cool sexy. One of my all time favorites. Thank you for posting this program. Loved it!
Mr.Jourdan was such a great actor, with charisma to spare. Today's so called "stars" become insignificant when compared with him. He was extremely handsome, and oh how the camera loved him. RIP,Sir.
The fantastic Louis Jourdan! And the WML crew. A classy group of people. People we would have actually liked to meet and even invited to dinner. TY for posting. Present day celebs seem to be mostly trash with cash, or mentally ill, or both.
@@victorpegala2698 …. Unfair remark by you. Even though Louis Jourdan was with his family in unoccupied France, he still did work to aid the resistance.
I grew up with this show (my mother was a contestant in 1964) I also have been a fan of Louis Jourdan since I saw him as a little girl in "GiGi" Who could have imagined then, that the question "are you a man" would be politically incorrect"
Well I tried to post a link to one of Louis' guest panelist appearances, but it doesn't seem to have taken. Do a RUclips search on: what's my line McClellan. Senator McClellan was the mystery guest on one of Jourdan's panelist appearances - the one in 1955.
@AAMLfan "is this someone that the 'bobbysoxers' might be very excited about?" "Bobbysoxers" was a 1950's term for teenage girls. Basically, Robert was asking if Mr. Jourdan's fan base was old or young.
Excellent. To see why they were astounded at his "American voice," an astonishment I shared, see watch?v=PIJobPF6YqY . There also used to be a clip on RUclips of Gene Kelly as the mystery guest and on that occasion as well Louis Jordan was a panelist.
John slipped up here. At 3.06, Rbt Q. Lewis asked: "Are you American?", to which the answer was (indirectly stated to be) no, but Daly let Robert continue on.
as another sign of our changing times, as the little kids said in response to one of the panelists guesses, what's a department store Santa Claus,? a chance to sit in his lap today would be a true miracle on 34th Street. But who knows, miracles happen everyday
Jordan pretty much gave himself away by talking too much. The panel picked up that he was foreign, and that quickly narrowed it down allowing them to guess him
He disguised his French accent very well indeed! Great job!
Ugh...he was SOOOO handsome--and a delightful human!
RIP Monsieur Louis Jourdan!
One of my favorite actors! Played Kamal Khan in Octopussy brilliantly! Rest in peace, Mr. Jourdan
That is an amazing accent. Louis Jourdan is such a beautiful man,
I've watched everything you put up and Louis Jourdan is one of my favorite clips. His 'American' accent is priceless! jrs
He did a spectacular job disguising that accent! Louis, Je t'aime!
What I like about this show is that it was very American but it gave recognition to celebs who were international and came from non-English speaking countries.
Such a gorgeous gentleman!

Louis Jourdan so handsome, dreamy and a charmer
He was perfect in 'Gigi' as was the entire cast. Very elegant and handsome man.
The fantastic Louis Jourdan! And the WML crew. A classy group of people. People we would have actually liked to meet and even invited to dinner. TY for posting. Present day celebs seem to be mostly trash with cash, or mentally ill, or both.
Louis was with his wife for 70 years - they died six months apart. How poignant.
Aww. That's love
Ohhhh, I love Louis Jourdan!
Good accent by Louis Jourdan! So handsome, too. ❤️
He worked with the French Resistance. (anti-Nazi) YEA!!!
Fun to watch when Arlene snags a fish and reels it in.
His father for sure did but not Louis who managed to live in the south of France
@@victorpegala2698 …. Unfair remark by you. Even though Louis Jourdan was with his family in unoccupied France, he still did work to aid the resistance.
Louis Jourdan Rocks xox .
RIP, Louis Jourdan
Louis Jordan’s American accent is surprisingly good for a non native speaker. Really goes to show how great of an actor he is.
RIP Mr. Jourdan!
He sounds like Tony Curtis impersonating Cary grant
lol,
He’s trying to impersonate a few stars, I think, though I can’t guess them all.
Great voice, so handsome.
HE IS SO CUTE.
Well slather me with jam and call me a croissant, I never imagined Monsieur Jourdan could talk like that!
La grande classe Louis
He was excellent in Three Coins In The Fountain. I would've loved to travel around Italy like he did in the movie with those 3 beautiful girls
Louis Jourdan was a crack croquet player. I am looking for video of him playing, but thanks for this!
I grew up with this show (my mother was a contestant in 1964) I also have been a fan of Louis Jourdan since I saw him as a little girl in "GiGi" Who could have imagined then, that the question "are you a man" would be politically incorrect"
@hkk321 - Lewis might have been thinking of Jacques Bergerac and Ginger Rogers, or Charles Boyer and Pat Patterson...
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved Mr.Louis since he played Dracula. God Bless you Sir
Would love to see this entire episode
Americans were certainly in love with all things french in the 1950s
wonderful
Wow, up until I've checked the Wikipedia to see if he's really French, I would never thought that! Great job on that accent.
Jourdan sounds like a cross between Clark Gable and Cary Grant
Thanks for that :)
His movie about Dacula was one of the best.
Still going strong at 90 :)
awesome voice disguise. he sounded like fred macmurray with hints of french and british lol
Very funny!
I would really love to see the play - The Immoralist - because the book is one of my favorites!
What a hunk he was!
He did a great Dracula.
"Are you American?" - John rarely misses a chance to give a "no".
Somewhere on YT there is a clip of Louis Jourdan on the WML panel. Wish I could remember which one it was.
good lord he's handsome......woof!
Nice! Also from Columbo
I agree!
I love his "Waltz at Maxim's" in GIGI ("She's so gay tonight," etc. when "gay" meant something else).
Well I tried to post a link to one of Louis' guest panelist appearances, but it doesn't seem to have taken. Do a RUclips search on: what's my line McClellan. Senator McClellan was the mystery guest on one of Jourdan's panelist appearances - the one in 1955.
Arlene was surprisinlgy close on her free guess there with the santa teacher ;p
this is one of the top 3 fake accents on this show of the few hundred that i've seen. nicely done.
Alas, I wanted to see the segment with the man who runs the Santa Claus school.
I wish I could find the clip where Louis Jourdan was one of the panelists.
Yet another example of D.K.'s astonishing intuition - in regards to Mr. Howard.
@AAMLfan "is this someone that the 'bobbysoxers' might be very excited about?"
"Bobbysoxers" was a 1950's term for teenage girls.
Basically, Robert was asking if Mr. Jourdan's fan base was old or young.

Let's see more of that test driver!
wow, nice accent. not from any exact locale, but still great.
John slipped up here. At 3.06, Rbt Q. Lewis asked: "Are you American?", to which the answer was (indirectly stated to be) no, but Daly let Robert continue on.
Sorry, I didn't save the quiz portion--I must have been more knocked out by Dorothy's near-guess than with the Q&A at the time.
Make that 93, according to IMDB.
Charles Howard ran one of the more famous Santa Claus schools of his time. See Wikipedia.
hey, do u have the clips of the 2 contestants that show up prior to louis jourdan? if u do, could u post it up?
Lol! At first, he sounds like Gary Cooper. :D
Jourdan doing Cagney lol
Dr. Anton Arcane,or to others Count Dracula, himself.
as another sign of our changing times, as the little kids said in response to one of the panelists guesses, what's a department store Santa Claus,? a chance to sit in his lap today would be a true miracle on 34th Street. But who knows, miracles happen everyday
So was Louis Jordan from Brooklyn or Oklahoma?
He sounds like Burt Lancaster a bit in spots lol
Goooood uUCKING television
Sorry, I think I only saved Louis' clip.
What the heck kind of masks were the panel wearing
Why don't you hear to Juliette Binoche's?
She's one of the best examples of French actresses who speak English with American accent.
Jordan pretty much gave himself away by talking too much. The panel picked up that he was foreign, and that quickly narrowed it down allowing them to guess him
gosh, he was really hot...
Actually, Louis Jourdan was born in 1921 - despite what Wikipedia says. That would make him 88 (until June 19, 2010).
I have irrefutable proof.
I didn't save her whole segment...sometimes a lady's walk-on is more interesting than the quiz itself and that probably was the case here.
