I've listened to almost all of your readings and, even though the stories you read give me the chills from time to time, this one actually made me physically shake. The ending scared me so bad, because whenever I listen to/read stuff like this I always picture myself in the protagonist's shoes. So this was honestly the scariest thing I've heard. Mostly because I have a fear of nothingness or having nothing to do or distract myself with, especially when everything's just void and you're experiencing what he's experiencing. You're able to portray the character's fear so well. 👌 I love your readings so much.

Imagining I'm more powerful than anything that lurks within the dark, or that if I were to say that anything lurking there was cool (to their face of course and so that it is believable) they would be tempted to not kill me and instead be my friend, and that would honestly be cool, so uh yeah. It's easier to live your life if you do it without fear. And it's easier to live without fear if you believe you'll be fine.
I used to be scared of the dark and had to sleep with the light on and whenever someone came along and turned out the light it would automatically wake me up. Now, though, I can't sleep without the lights being off. I used to also be afraid of open closet doors, drawn shower curtains in the bathroom and dangling my limbs over the edges of whatever bed I was sleeping in. I can thank horror author Stephen King's book Cujo for the closet doors and dangling limbs fear. Lol.
