Hands down the most entertaining driving footage in all of youtube! Maybe its the unprofessional camera work, but it gives a feeling of literally being inside the car that you don't seem to get from other POV videos
Yes you are 100% correct about the suspension geometry, very important. Id say even the tires are very important too. By the way, surprised to hear that you prefer this car to the 918. I never sat in one before, but im guessing its far less raw than the 996 gt2. Same thing applies for the 991 911R i guess. People raving on about how raw it is, but compared to 996 gen of GT cars, it’s actually very civilized. Lol
@@FizzyMotors That's even worse: you have children and do this? Look at how many crosswalks you flew by? Imagine one of your daughters crossing the road and a madman like you flies by? If you kill someone it's not only their lives but that of your is over. Not worth it. Go on the highway if you want to go fast. Well ive said my thing. :)
What a handsome fleet! A base RWD 996 in Thailand still demands good money, let alone the GT models. I hope the prices don’t blow up before I can afford one…
I have been driving a 996.2 gt3 for the last few months, and I like the car. I was thinking about a switch to a 996 gt2 and this video popped up. Enjoyed it a lot. Just a question: I find 996s slow steering (18.something steering ratio) quite frustrating during powerslides because you have to let go of the steering to get steering angles above a few degrees. You seem confident though: how do you like it? Is it something you learn? I previous had a 997 and the variable ratio steering is faster and I could keep my hands on the wheel almost all the time.
thanks! you should watch my other video of a direct comparison between the 996 gt3 and gt2 on a local track. it'll give you a better idea about these two cars side by side. you're totally right about the steering ratio, it is quite slow indeed. but most of my cars are somewhat classics, so I am used to the dramatic steering movements. if you watch my "on track" videos of the gt3, you'll see I have to let go of the steering wheel and catch it in order to maintain the slide. it's not something I trained for, it just came naturally when I was on track. like I said, the car feels very intuitive to drive on the limit. however I must stress I am by no means a professional driver. just an enthusiast who enjoys driving fast lol. so you'll see my slides are far from "Chris Harris" precise. still got lots to learn.
ive had 911s for the past 12 years .. you have to drive them with respect ... Life changing BAD things can happen VERY quickly ..need to slow down in built up areas , do them speeds with nobody around you .....

Lol unintentional shaky cam
Im just loving all of this 996 GT2 content. Had mine for 12 years now and id never sell.

@@FizzyMotors Whats you instagram and ill send you my experiences in them
Awesome video but you're nuts haha.
Get children, raise them and after 16 years when your son drives a scooter, rewatch this. You need help and stop this driving before you kill someone.
That’s quite an elaborate plan thanks.
Too bad i only have daughters.
Youre right though i shouldn’t be driving like this. Thanks for the warning

@@tubelator yup you’re completely right. Im not arguing
Well I’m not sure about that they call the 996 GT2 a widowmaker!! I think the 930 turbo is the one original widowmaker
996 GT2 is the one that most people recognize as the widow maker. At least thats what I gather from the internet and amongst my circle of friends.
U drive like a maniac in town, u're gonna kill somebody one day driving like this
Oops sorry
Love your causal but genuine observations. I find my self looking at the Ads afterwards. Such a great car❤
Glad you enjoy it!
No touchscreens, key ignition, awesome.

Great video. No over-editing
Raw ass review, good shit
This is kind of how I felt when my 997.1 came back with a 4.3 conversion and almost 500bhp (NA).
That sounds epic
