  • This video documented how I upgrade the Lenovo x260 with a NVME hard disk. My existing hard disk is a sata 3 SSD 2.5 inch. The video provides hands on documentation on the installation of NVME.
You must check if the NVME is supported for this device. In my narration, this video shows in the bios, that if the NVME is supported, it would be able to be detected even in bios mode with NVME then followed by other spec details, similar with the SSD hard disk that I have.

Nice that you shot it in portrait mode.

You have to have the correct adapter and SATA cable. You can't use the drive you have in X260.
    I have a 1Tb in my X260. Works like a charm at about 1.6Gb/s read/write speeds.
Conversion cost me about $50 in parts and since I already had a NVME M.2, that was it.
You need to know what you are doing.
That port you put your SSD in is for WWAN and for WWAN only!

super lmao that it work easily in my x250 but in x260 they decided to cut out this option :) fhcking lenovo so actually moving forward from x250 to x260 is rather downgrade than upgrade as there is not much difference between 5/6th intels :) fml

Splendid! Would you be so kind as to elaborate exactly how, what and where? Might be more helpful than the video itself! It is my understanding that the existing harddrive needs to be replaced by adapter, so there's no m.2 at all? (beside the wifi)?

Is it possible to connect an M.2 nvme to the WiFi port of the Thinkpad X260? Does it only support up to 128GB?

On some videos, they said the port can only detect drives up to 512GB so maybe your 1TB will not work

(i think) it didn't work not because of the ssd itself, it's because that thing that you carelessly removed from your m.2 slot was the wifi card, so maybe it's only for wifi cards.

SSDs not detect in BIOS without making partition. You are checking in wrong way
