- This video documented how I upgrade the Lenovo x260 with a NVME hard disk. My existing hard disk is a sata 3 SSD 2.5 inch. The video provides hands on documentation on the installation of NVME.
You must check if the NVME is supported for this device. In my narration, this video shows in the bios, that if the NVME is supported, it would be able to be detected even in bios mode with NVME then followed by other spec details, similar with the SSD hard disk that I have.

Nice that you shot it in portrait mode.
You have to have the correct adapter and SATA cable. You can't use the drive you have in X260.
I have a 1Tb in my X260. Works like a charm at about 1.6Gb/s read/write speeds.
Conversion cost me about $50 in parts and since I already had a NVME M.2, that was it.
You need to know what you are doing.
That port you put your SSD in is for WWAN and for WWAN only!
super lmao that it work easily in my x250 but in x260 they decided to cut out this option :) fhcking lenovo so actually moving forward from x250 to x260 is rather downgrade than upgrade as there is not much difference between 5/6th intels :) fml
so i need the converter from sata III to m.2 right?
Splendid! Would you be so kind as to elaborate exactly how, what and where? Might be more helpful than the video itself! It is my understanding that the existing harddrive needs to be replaced by adapter, so there's no m.2 at all? (beside the wifi)?
Thanks man, a great help, I was thinking about installation of another (2nd) drive but wasnt sure.... unfortunately thats not possible 😢
Can't see anything and you aren't clear so who are you trying to help with this?
hey i had m2 disk in my x250 transcdent or something like this. it worker greately in 250 but recently i’ve switched to 260 and noticed it have same spot so i was super happy i can use my fast 256 m2. of course it didn’t worked but in bios boot i also see nvme0 position…. did they cut out ability to m2 2242 work in x260? i had to put there shitty 128 ssd :(( any solution without buying adapter that is worth twice my m2??? i guess they cut it via software somehow :/
Is it possible to connect an M.2 nvme to the WiFi port of the Thinkpad X260? Does it only support up to 128GB?
X270 Suport Kali Bang....
Cobain Bang, Terus Buat Riview Nya...
Pasti Ane Tonton Dah...Like N Subcribe😁
On some videos, they said the port can only detect drives up to 512GB so maybe your 1TB will not work
May i know what is this M2 Size? 2242?
Can't hear you.
Have the same problem
Up X270 compatibel,
i think you should use m.2 sata 2242 not m.2 nvme
x260 compatible with PCIe NVMe
With correct M.2 adapter and SATA cable, yes it is. I have M.2 in my X260
Hi i tried to install nvme m2 on x260 then the ssd pcie cannot detect.
@@ryukaitv5614 did you get the rig h t adapter and new sata cable for the x260? Also, did you enable TPM?
@@TheA8W12 no, i already found that lenovo stop supporting NVME M2. but x250 can read even if you install windows 7. So no need Experiment my brother
Not capatible ka?
not compatible
(i think) it didn't work not because of the ssd itself, it's because that thing that you carelessly removed from your m.2 slot was the wifi card, so maybe it's only for wifi cards.
SSDs not detect in BIOS without making partition. You are checking in wrong way
