8:10 For someone, that plays a lot of RPB normally, I figured that this would happen at some point.

Takuya yeah it happened about 3 times during the match. The JPen racket was sanded down super well, so it only felt natural for me. 😂

Jpens are fun to hit with. I've always enjoyed the power they bring for me. But I've always felt like my spin quality goes down compared to Cpen. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that with Jpen I'm hooking my finger around the cork and the face of the blade tends to hit more into the ball (slap) where as on Cpen I must relax my finger alot and I feel I have more play with being able to angle the racket on the fly and thus can hit it thinner with more spin. I'm not sure if that's a good habit or not for cpen but I've been doing it that way for years so oh well. ;) Good video. What'd you think about the differences other than the obvious having to use TPB.

I agree; Jpen is fun. I think the major difference is the comfort in large swings; the cork handle makes the grip extremely secure compared to Cpen, especially at high force. I also think that spin is reduced due to the small range of motion of the wrist. Thanks for the comment!

The 9mm Hinoki Jpen blades are great and solid enough even in the modern game.
The 10mm ones are too thick and heavy and adding just 1mm to the setup somehow they think justifies increasing the price tenfold dafu q

Just asking what rubber did you used for the JPen racket?

I forgot, but I know that it was pretty bad. 😂
