Westlife are one man down due to Mark Feehily having to miss out on the tour due to coming down with pneumonia.
The rest of the lads told us at The National Lottery's Big Bash that they're struggling to cover his high notes!

Shane Filan's voice is a blessing to Westlife. There is no match to his voice. I don't mind for a high note here and there. But I 💯 care about the bags of character , the glossy and emotive tone Shane's voice brings to Westlife songs. That is what carried those 14 Westlife number one singles that are popular in the globe 🌎.
Very true, Shane is still my number 1 lead singer. I don’t care about the high notes of Mark. Actually I really did not miss him,

@@attachingconsciousness Actually it's Mark who can't do things Shane can do with his voice. Mark specialises in highest notes and that's it. Shane changes his voices from Rock raspy, to Croak, to smooth Vibrato hence he was used more for many of their songs. His tone has versatility and emotive glossiness. Mark sings for power and show off and not necessarily Emotion. There's a difference. It doesn't mean Shane doesn't have power but he has lots of emotion and character in his Tone as it is Euphonius. So dear all the Westlife hits needed that emotion Shane and Brian provided. And Mark did well in adding those highs in necessary parts. Don't confuse their style of singing with highs. Highs are usually emotionless and showy.
@@sipnog3528But please let's not forget the soulfulness in Mark's voice ... His voice gives me goosebumps even without the high notes.. just normal singing and he gets more creative with every performance.
Shane carries the emotiveness in WL and I totally agree but Mark carries the soulfulness and always takes WL to a new level- like a gospel level and that's what makes WL the best vocal group in my opinion. No one can reach their powerful voices and harmony

I think we, as fans, all love and miss Mark, as do the remaining Westlife members. However, the talents of Shane, Kian, and Nicky are incredible and with the right songs they could continue as a trio for a long time. I get sick of seeing and hearing people put down their efforts. I saw them as a trio in Boston in March and they were awesome. Get well soon, Mark, but know your bandmates are holding up the legacy of Westlife.

To be fair, the statement thrown by the reporter was not well thought of.
It's like the reporter is implying that the band cannot hit high notes without Mark and asked them for "appreciation on how high he (Mark) goes". At the back of my mind, i thought, so the reporter is implying that Shane cannot hit them high notes?
Ofcourse Mark will be Mark and is definitely a cut above, but then, for me the statement about how high Mark goes was unnecessary, considering that the 3 lads are still doing quite well.
Good thing, Shane uttered a witty and classy response (as always). I really like him and Kian during impromptu interviews. 😍

He can hit high notes ,but his voice is not as smooth as that of Shane and the others.

Exactly ! Mark's voice in some songs sounds very tired and harsh! I just wish I could hear Shane sing the whole song because Shane's voice is extremely beautiful, bright, clear, resonant, gentle, soft, smooth and very inspiring. It sounds very relaxing to the soul

I appreciate the gentle soothing voice and singing style of Shane Filan, with Kian and Nicky.
THIS IS ONE HONEST COMMENT!!! 💯 correct. Mark showy tone can irritate especially when he sings over Shane's parts as they have way different tones. I also didn't miss his highs. I 💯 prefer Shane soothing tones. They are more pleasing to the ear.
