I've been watching you since 2009 and noticed you consistently bring your foundation up under your eyes during application, then place your under-eye concealer on top of it. I used to do the same with no issues, but now 15 years later, it really makes my under-eyes look dry and crinkly, whether I apply powder or not. So I stopped applying foundation under my eyes. Instead, I use the tiniest amount of a hydrating color corrector just on my inner corners and then sparingly apply a lightweight hydrating concealer. It's made a night & day difference in the appearance of my under-eyes!! When I do apply powder to set my concealer, I only use powders I KNOW won't dry out my under-eyes and it only takes a tiny amount to do the job. It took me a long time to break the application habits I'd done all of my life, but I'm so glad I did! XOXO ~~Christy~~
Luke is by far the best character and I feel that he just gets better and better! I rewatch the show every fall and it’s always as exciting as the first time I looked at it. I think you’ll enjoy the way the Jess story unfolds… eventually lol

Emily, I don't know if you are aware yet of the new Revlon Multiliners but they are GREAT! You can use them on lips, eyes or cheeks. I just love them as lipliners. They are all nude colors. The new(er) Maybelline liners are also great! I do love that Make Up For Ever liner that you used in the video though!

I also think that the Loreal serum foundation is very similar to the Haus Labs foundation. I do think the HL has a bit more coverage. Both wear the same. Love them both!

Hi Emily!!! I have wqtched for YEARS AND YEARS and I gotta say the Milani eye primer is easily my fave recommendation EVER of yours! It transforms every single shadow for the better, both high end and drugstore, AND keeps my oily eyelids balanced so my shadow doesn't disappear during the day ❤
The haus labs is my holy grail. There is not a foundation at the drugstore that compares to this. I have tried so many drugstore foundations and none of them work! That L’Oréal tinted one emphasized every pore on me. Merry Christmas to you and your family thanks Emily for keeping it real and never switching up!
Hi Emily , something I’ve never seen you try is No7 eye primer. I’ve recently bought this and my crinkly 60yr old eyes are loving it. This L’Oréal blushers are another level, why would you need anything else 😊. Ooh, I’m loving this Smokey look. ❤
I tried the XL and it smeared badly even though I made sure the skin above my eyes was dry, primed & set but I have hooded eyelids that my lashes always touch so most mascaras are not my friend in that regard. I thought tubing mascaras weren’t supposed to ever smear, but that’s not the case.
I really appreciate your mentions of other makeup and skincare products that perform as well or better than more expensive or high end ones. I agree with so many of your recommendations. If you haven’t yet, you should try the Catrice concealer or powders from No.7. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
I just bought the Natasha Denona concealer and love it. For reference, I'm soon to be 66, and I have dry skin. My holy grail is the Huda powder. It's actually a tie with the Givenchy. Huda did relaunch the powders with new packaging. It's fragrance free, and the sifter has a lift up option if needed. I did try the Maybelline powder. While it's a great drugstore option, I don't like the bulky packaging, and it gets messy without a sifter. I don't find myself reaching for it, but I can't/won't give up my Huda powder, ever!😂

My favorite part is when you are talking about which lip liners are actually long-lasting because they all claim to be LOL I need one that sets down the way a matte liquid lipstick does but without the drying aspect. I love that Revlon Colorstay lipliner in the Nude shade! I bought it based on your recommendation, which I know I can ALWAYS trust. I have several high end pencils, including the MUFE Wearever Walnut, and I really think the Revlon is just as good. It's one of my favourites! P.S. Your shorter hair looks amazing on you! ♥
Love Gilmore girls! I like Sookie a lot but Lorelei is my favorite. That foundation wears terrible on my oily skin. I decluttered it to my sister. Maybelline totally toffee liner is practically the same as that liner too. And I got one of those palettes at Sephora and opened it up to find mold on mine.
Video ideas: trying the seven Kitchener Essences and the bonus Oneiric essence. Then you can decide if you are a mix of them and do a final makeup look mixing them to your ultimate look. Fun new year series that would be nine videos in all.
Love your hair it just suits you so much. I agree with you about your under eyes looking a bit “cakey”! However the overall look you constructed was timeless and elegant!
I got the Haus foundation during the Sephora sale and have really enjoyed it on my very dry, mature skin. I also find the shade perfect for me and I’ve found that makes such a difference in how much I love a foundation. It’s worth it for me.
Only things I have from that list is the Covergirl eyebrow pencil, Kosas cloud set and the Milani bronzer in the light color. I like the Kosas, but I prefer MOB blurring powder more. The bronzer is great and so is the eye pencil, though I switch out with NYX Lift and Snatch from time to time. I think it was Revlon that came out with anywhere pencils that are similar to MUFE anywhere pencils. I’ll try those before spending that much on MUFE.
I like the Huda powder, but I think that the Givenchy powder is better. It seems to be more smoothing. I rate powders on them not settling in my nose pores. I hate that. And the Huda does settle in my pores. I do love the ND concealer. It's so pretty. Full coverage but smoothing and long lasting. I love the ABH Luminous foundation. That's probably my favorite high-end foundation. I adore the L'oreal serum foundation as well. So pretty. And I've been preaching those L'oreal Lumi liquid blushes for months now. I love the Dewy Worth It shade. It's perfect. It's gives me the perfect sun-kissed look. And highlighters, I don't get the hypes behind them, personally. Possibly because I have a natural highlight in the form of oily skin!

For me the Huda powder is the ONLY powder that keeps my oil at bay all day with no touch ups and doesn't look cakey - I live in the Mediterranean so it was the only powder during the summer that kept me Matte in the areas I applied it! I agree that other Powders give the same look, but for my skin no other powder has kept my oils away like this one 😊

My parents have a dedicated jigsaw puzzle table in their sunroom! My dad had a mini stroke a few years ago, and though he's recovered physically, it accelerated his Alzheimer's memory issues. He loved to read, but that's so hard to enjoy now, so they keep a puzzle going, and I'll pitch in if they're struggling with a difficult part.
@laurapirate it's more about not remembering what happened a chapter earlier. I'm not sure if audible would be different, but it's worth a shot. He doesn't remember an answer we gave him 5 minutes later, though, so that's why I'm not sure he'd retain it in audio format. 😞 I am interested in anyone's suggestions on entertaining elderly parents with dementia or Alzheimer's, though! This once extremely active man now just sits for hours on end because he can't do what he used to do outside.

I have just started wearing makeup again turning 65. Everything is drugstore or Amazon or Ulta cheap area except for IT Bye Bye Dark Spots concealer, and I am trying several with undereye brightners too. I used to wear IT Volumizing mascara (I had three unopened tubes, but they had dried out), and I am very happy with Maybelline Sky High Lash Primer with it alone or with Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift or Tarte Tartelette. I have been doing videos about Jesus for over 7.5 years. Be blessed with your children.
I want to love the nyx butter bronzer. Its just too soft. I had it shipped to me and both the blush and bronzer were shattered to dust even though they were padded. I am not a huge fan of products that i cant teavel with. Also, i have been really seriously tempted to try and start doing puzzles and you may have just convinced me.

Yes you definitely hyped up that CG brow pencil but it is great! I can easily overdo a brow pencil and that one is so small that it keeps me in check.

The Wet n Wild Cocoa Rose lip oil is my new favorite for every day. So glad I heard about it from you, Em! I use the Milani Nude lip pencil with it.

I got the Haus foundation during the Sephora sale and have really enjoyed it on my very dry, mature skin. I also find the shade perfect for me and I’ve found that makes such a difference in how much I love a foundation. It’s worth it for me.

Only things I have from that list is the Covergirl eyebrow pencil, Kosas cloud set and the Milani bronzer in the light color. I like the Kosas, but I prefer MOB blurring powder more. The bronzer is great and so is the eye pencil, though I switch out with NYX Lift and Snatch from time to time. I think it was Revlon that came out with anywhere pencils that are similar to MUFE anywhere pencils. I’ll try those before spending that much on MUFE.
I love the Huda Powder, the scent ♡
I like the Huda powder, but I think that the Givenchy powder is better. It seems to be more smoothing. I rate powders on them not settling in my nose pores. I hate that. And the Huda does settle in my pores. I do love the ND concealer. It's so pretty. Full coverage but smoothing and long lasting. I love the ABH Luminous foundation. That's probably my favorite high-end foundation. I adore the L'oreal serum foundation as well. So pretty. And I've been preaching those L'oreal Lumi liquid blushes for months now. I love the Dewy Worth It shade. It's perfect. It's gives me the perfect sun-kissed look. And highlighters, I don't get the hypes behind them, personally. Possibly because I have a natural highlight in the form of oily skin!

For me the Huda powder is the ONLY powder that keeps my oil at bay all day with no touch ups and doesn't look cakey - I live in the Mediterranean so it was the only powder during the summer that kept me Matte in the areas I applied it! I agree that other Powders give the same look, but for my skin no other powder has kept my oils away like this one 😊

For mascara, I haven’t found one I like more than Maybeline Sky High. I use waterproof so my lashes will stay curled.
I love the formula and the brush of sky high but I gave it up because I don't like the wobbly wand.

My parents have a dedicated jigsaw puzzle table in their sunroom! My dad had a mini stroke a few years ago, and though he's recovered physically, it accelerated his Alzheimer's memory issues. He loved to read, but that's so hard to enjoy now, so they keep a puzzle going, and I'll pitch in if they're struggling with a difficult part.
Audible might be a good way for your dad to at least listen to books😊
@laurapirate it's more about not remembering what happened a chapter earlier. I'm not sure if audible would be different, but it's worth a shot. He doesn't remember an answer we gave him 5 minutes later, though, so that's why I'm not sure he'd retain it in audio format. 😞
I am interested in anyone's suggestions on entertaining elderly parents with dementia or Alzheimer's, though! This once extremely active man now just sits for hours on end because he can't do what he used to do outside.
@auntrori apologies, I should have realised that! The only thing that seems to really entertain my boyfriend's dad is listening to music! For some reason, he can always remember music!

I have just started wearing makeup again turning 65. Everything is drugstore or Amazon or Ulta cheap area except for IT Bye Bye Dark Spots concealer, and I am trying several with undereye brightners too. I used to wear IT Volumizing mascara (I had three unopened tubes, but they had dried out), and I am very happy with Maybelline Sky High Lash Primer with it alone or with Maybelline Falsies Lash Lift or Tarte Tartelette. I have been doing videos about Jesus for over 7.5 years. Be blessed with your children.
I like to use tubing mascara as a finishing step to a more volumizing kind to “seal” it in for easier removal at the end of the day

I want to love the nyx butter bronzer. Its just too soft. I had it shipped to me and both the blush and bronzer were shattered to dust even though they were padded. I am not a huge fan of products that i cant teavel with.
Also, i have been really seriously tempted to try and start doing puzzles and you may have just convinced me.
