I agree, my first land cruiser was a good old 1996 80 series. I loved that rig. Then I had a 80 series LX also loved it but, I sold it and got a Cayenne Turbo! Big mistake! Sold the Cayenne got a G Wagon loved it but, someone decided they wanted it more than I. So I went to a GX , now back in a pair of Land Cruisers and we love it!
Thumbs up, subscribed and clicked on notification bell, from Australia, I have LC105 with half a million km on the clock, here it is literally a survival car! Enjoy your LCs👍
Thank you so much we absolutely love these super dependable vehicles. Every time we thing of getting something else we change our minds and stick to the cruisers!
I got a 1998 100 Series Land Cruiser last summer. I started watching RUclipss and found you guys. Love watching you review vehicles, especially LC's and the other products you review. You guys are great!
Thank you so much! It makes us so happy when people watch, enjoy and most of all, find value in the content we create. We sincerely appreciate your time and try our best to make our content worth it! Thank you sir!
Right on. My 100 series has 384k on it and runs great! OME lift and ARB bumpers. You guys have great taste in vehicles. Been following your posts on the GX470, too. Got one for the wife. She loves it.
That is awesome! We loved our GX and tried to find another one but the prices and demand for the GX got out of control so we “settled” for two Land Cruisers! LOL
I want one so bad. There is a dealer by my house that sells these. I hope to have mine by summer. Thanks for the update guys, can't wait to see the content you have on the way.
Thanks for watching! Minus the gas mileage you cant go wrong with a well maintained Land Cruiser as long as you love it and give it some TLC you will never be let down!
Great video! My wife and I are in the same boat. After owning my 2005 lc100 for about a year my wife loved it so much that now she has an 2004 lx470. Now the only problem is deciding which one I want to drive when leaving the house.
My solution to my 05 LX infotainment: installed the GROM AUX adapter, external CarPlay unit, connected via AUX. There is a mod where you can swap out the nav with the older 100 series head unit which gives you manual HVAC controls and then you can install whatever head unit.
Nice, I had two 80’s back in the day. I sold them for a Cayenne Turbo. Best worst mistake ever! That has always been my main issue with the 80, the straight 6 is sooooo slow. I know some markets got a turbo version not sure if it was a turbo diesel but I wonder what they are like vs the petrol version we got in the states.
@@KRTLyfe yeah i agree, i have heard there’s a turbo diesel somewhere else but not made for us in the US. Some youtuber has a collection of LC and I think he has a diesel turbo.
I’m going from a 2015 Hilux to a 100 series & saving money 👌 smart move guys great cars! Much ❤️ from 🇦🇺- love the video. Side note I was KO2’s as well all my life & at work….. Once you go to Mickey Thompson you’ll never look back! Especially in the wet.
I LOVE my LC100 and agree with every single word you’ve said about this car. I originally brought my car as a ambulance for my late wife who was going through cancer at the time and it didn’t let her down. The car was bulletproof. Wind, rain or snow storm, the car stood it’s ground and saved the day on more than one occasion and not only for my wife. Recently I had the original alternator replaced after 22 years and over 200k miles on the clock. When my starter motor gave up after 16 years of sterling service, I had it rebuilt and reinstalled and not thought about it once since then. Lucky for me I had my car converted to run on cheap and environmentally friendly LPG, Autogas, three months after I purchased it and since then this investment has been repaid a thousand fold. Nothing sounds sweeter than a 4.7 V8 on full throttle (without the constant fear of watching the petrol gauge sink rapidly to employ). Shame you guys don’t live in the UK but hey ho you can’t have everything. Here in the UK Autogas is less than half the price of unleaded petrol but with very similar mpg. So both Mother Earth and my bank account are very happy. My next project will be retrofitting a safari roofrack and rustproofing the underside of my truck. I prefer the original alloy wheels. I’ve fitted mine with oversized all terrain boots and just love em (damn I can’t remember the name of them they are not BF Goodrich’s). Love those after market wheel arches though. Very nice. I wouldn’t mind some more information on these if you have any.
The wheel arches are actually stock here in the states. Thank you glad you are enjoying and getting the most out of you 100 series. Sorry to hear about your wife may she Rest In Peace.
Thanks for the information we will be looking for tires for our newer LC probably around the end of the year. Will definitely check out your suggestion!
@@KRTLyfe You have wheel arches and I have LPG. Hey ho! The world is not yet a village. Every time I drive my beastie I think of my wife and I miss her every single day. The passenger seat is empty without her.
Agree with everything you said about the cruisers. I have a 2001 LX 470 absolutely love it, only negative its got the 4 speed auto but I bought it for such a good price, just before covid hit . Here in OZ a lot of these are converted to LPG, which is half the price of petrol so makes the running cost bearable, mine was converted before I bought it. I am in the process of turning it into full on camping machine. Have a ARB base rack, 270 awning, drawers, drawer fridge and she goes in next week for a twin Lithium battery set up to power everything, then I will be heading out into the great Aussie out back to explore this beatifull country. Great video by the way.
Wow, LPG that is interesting. I wouldn’t mind a Turbo Diesel LOL. Congratulations on getting one for a good price! It will be an epic build once you get it kitted out! We would absolutely love to be able to go camping in Australia! One day.
Get a cold air intake and a CAT back exhaust, it helps with the fuel economy. I my LC 100 has 352k miles I added the mods mentioned and it runs great. I have the ko's on my 2014 Tundra, great choice for tires guys.
Thank you for the suggestions. BFG makes great tires! Those mods sound interesting! I would really like to put a turbo on one of them but, I don’t want to mess with the reliability.
@@KRTLyfe Yw, those MOD's for sure are easily reversed and will not mess with the reliability. If you do go fwd with a turbo keep me informed because I was thinking of doing the same with my LC 100.
Looks great guys! I’ve got an 04 GX that I’m slowly upgrading. I love it! Would love to meet up with you if you’re ever camping in the Asheville area again
I have a 2003 land cruiser 5 speed automatic it has a two inch lift and I am run 285 x75x16 they are coopers off road and on road tyres and I have no road noise
Love the wheels. Great choice. What size tires would you recommend for an 18 inch rim? Wish i could be enjoying my rig as the rest of you. It has develop a transmission shift fail from 2 gear to the 3rd. Hope someone could shed some light on this before I take it to a transmission shop.
The price range can vary drastically based on a few variables. Typically a high mileage example in good condition can sell for $12k a low mileage one can go for closer to $20k. I see builds listed for even more. Prices in USD.
The only downfall is the price of gas ⛽️ with regular maintenance land cruiser they just go &go. there gouging car buyers. I like to buy vehicles 6 to 10 years old most of depreciation is gone & 80% life left
Yep that is also our preferred buying technique. I hear story’s everyday about people paying 5-15k over MSRP for cars… To each it own but we wouldn’t do it!
Land Cruisers are an addiction - never a mistake. Went from a 60 (20+ years ago) to a 40, now proud caretaker of an LX470 and a BJ42.

Sounds like a good solution, the built in HVAC controls is kinda annoying I definitely prefer the analog dials on my 1999 LC.
Nice LCs!!! Keeping my 80 series 40 Anniversary but just wished it had more power. Thanks for sharing!

Those are my dream Cruisers.
Some day I’ll buy one
I just got a 99 LX470 that still rides good, just few maintenance and should be good
They are amazing vehicles, the one with the copper wheels just hit 400k miles a few weeks back still drives beautiful and is my daily driver.

Have 06 100,gx both excellent👌💯
Those stock wheels look so much better! But I'm glade you like new ones! When you sell the "soccer mom" wheels?
Unfortunately, we are keeping the stock wheels. We always do just in case.
@@KRTLyfe just FYI they're more than likely stronger than aftermarket wheels.

What size are those tires?! Looks amazing.
Wheels look great! Slap some ceramic coating on them ASAP!
Thanks for the tip! We will try that!
helloooooo your LC100 looks awesome, would you tell me the specifications of your tire combo on the "gold" or something like that rims, cheers

Wow, sorry to hear about your transmission issue. I would definitely look it up on IH8MUD. You should find helpful information there.
Did you get rid of the G550? I had one 100 and 3 200s. All LX’s, but now in a 2011 G550.
No the G550 belongs to a friend of mine. It still makes appearances here and there.
Gotta have one for myself... LC100 with a V8 or LC200 with V8? Wow... Need to sit and decide ...😅
I don’t think you can go wrong with either, just depends how much you want to spend!
Both your 100’s are running the stock suspension?
Yep they are both stock.
Have a 06 for 10 years won't trade it for anything👌😉💯
Agreed! We are still loving ours even though other vehicles are tempting!
Thanks for watching commenting and subscribing!

Nice color combination.
Great video.. just curious.. how bad is da gas mileage?🧐
Horrible 13-15 MPG on the highway lol , but that is fully loaded with luggage and at least 4 people so eh.
Is there any difference in consumption between them? I mean the 99 and 2005 LC 100?
How much do these machines cost on the other side of the world? I am based in Kenya and these things are pricey.

Lc80-Lc200 will never let U down broo... Simply take everything U punch on it, the engine roaring...
I live down here in Australia Melbourne
How many miles do they each have and what year are they? Thanks
One is a 1999 the other is a 2005. The 1999 has over 400K miles the 2005 just hit 280K miles.
