Excellent video my friend. My father has a similar model that is due for some maintenance soon, and now we can do it ourselves. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience with us.
Nice older video! I’m surprised the gaskets didn’t cause a vacuum leak and give you trouble, they looked pretty squashed. I used to dislike working on Honda GCV carbs but I’ve done so many that now I kinda like them. Too bad they’re not making them anymore, but there will still be plenty of old mowers like this around to tinker with lol!
I was going to say wheels, and the front critter catcher. Just like the one my neighbor gave up on. I used it all last summer. I rebuilt the carb and cleaned it out as best I could but I can't get the emulsion tube out. Still surges.I guess I'll have to buy and easy out reverse screw drill.
I just look up the parts I need on jackssmallengines.com and then buy them wherever is the best deal. Sometimes its Jacks website. Thank you for watching.
I have a troy built self propelled 12av5657222 i was running it hit a brick and it now refuses to start i cleaned the carb Removed the stater and checked the cam lock pin Checked shim on the pistons Got new kjil switch cable Changed spark New gas 93 non ethanol I have never used enthenol Worked flawlessly for 5 years Then i hit a brick the motor stopped and no joy since It will start after 3 pulls but coughs revs up and down never hits full power and quits within 30 seconds The new spark plug is black cleaned retry same result. There are bo carb adjustments it as this funky temp controlled carb actuator on it. I am lost…. Thoughts? Did i blow a piston? How can i tell without a compression tester After 1
I have this exact mower. Starts well cold on first pull choked. Been running a bit rough (like surging sounds), and once I shut it off hot to bag grass clippings it won’t start back up. I went through your video here exactly and cleaned the carburetor and put fresh air filter and gas and new starter this year. Any ideas? Or videos explaining how to remedy? Thanks
What is the model number of this mower? I have what looks to be the exact same mower with a Honda 160 GCV auto choke engine and there's no tags on the deck the whole back of the deck is pretty much rusted out when I got the mower. The stickers are gone off of the plastic shroud it just has Troy-Bilt 21-in cut. I'm not having much luck finding the model number the Honda engine says 2009 on the side of it but I can't find any mowers that match identical to mine this looks like the closest one I can find. If this has the two piece plastic baffles in the back of the deck? Thank you for your help.

I bought this mower about 8 years ago and been paying someone to tune it up every year or 2. Thanks for the video. Think I'll try and do it myself.
Thanks for watching.

Great job. If I could turn back time, I would have went to small engine repair school right out of highschool. I love working on small engines.
I used the stock throttle cable for this application. Thank you for watching.
You got her back to life.

Sorry to hear that. Check the valves and the spark plug first. See if you are losing spark when it will not run. Thank you for watching.
Good job 👍
Could you write the valve clearance and share the link or name for the weels?
I just ask google for the valve specs and the wheels are from Ebay. Thank you for watching.
Thanks
