- Some of the most amazing motorcycles you have ever seen reside at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Ala. From classic drag bikes like the two stroke H2 750 of Dave Schultz and Paul Gast, the classic NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle of the great John Myers, flat track legends, hill climb bikes, a close look at the KZ 1000, FJ 1200, Hayabusa, early wooden and steam powered motorcycles, lots of vintage two strokes, the Eddie Lawson KZ1000R, a wide selection of Buells, early Harley Davidson and Indian cruisers, V8 powered motorcycles and much more, Barber Motorsports Park has it all. We give you a full tour and take you on our quest to find the most impressive motorcycles we can discover. You will hear the sweet sound of F1 racing in the background. You will even see some double engine bikes! There is no place quite like Barber. Share with a friend and if you know anything about any of these share your stories in the comments.

Great to see my Kawasaki V12 V8, Five cylinder and SS100 at the end 🙂
They look amazing altogether on that display, not bad for a pom ;)
Your bikes are the highlight of the museum. Each time I go George Barber keeps it fresh and interesting by rotating the bikes.
You should be "PROUD"....
They are works of art...!!!!
@@t03cutter twostroke motorcycles
All your bikes are deserving to be there Allen!
I''m 62, grew up riding and wrenching on bikes and still do. I have to go see this place. Thank you for documenting this.
I was out in Fremont, CA in 1981 and got to talk to Dave Shultz and Paul, and even held the H2 cylinder in my hands to give it a look. I couldn't see where the magic was. That is for the genious that build them. I still have a 1974 H2 I've owned 42yrs.
Love the direction this channel is going! Keep up the good work Jack...really appreciate what you do for the motorcycle community.
So much history and educational content in this video. Thanks for taking your time to bring this to us.
Thank you man. Thank you for the memories. I'm 73 now. Have owned or at least worked on many of the bikes you have shown on your visit to the Barber Museum. Such a great tour you made for us.
One of my favs was the black Buell M2 seen in the back ground. Owned one, sadly, got crashed by some lady in a car in an intersection. Oh well, salvaged the motor, building a ridged chopped around the motor now.
I might have missed it, but I didn't see the venerable Yamaha XS 650 twin. I'm sure there was one there but time limits you from showing all the bikes. Owned three of them in my life time. Next to the Buell, the Yamaha XS650 got to be my all time best bike.
Again, thank you,
rocket
Cool vid people. Rode several of those bikes from 50 to 2002cc. At 65... Brings back great memories. Retired master motorcycle technician I fixed em, rode em, and most fun making them go faster. Kz1000 and Gs 1100 engines.
We went mid 7's in the late 80's. As fast as we could afford to and I did most of the work. If pic comes up some of you old Prostar Semi Pro guys and gals might remember.
The last unique 4 bikes was made from Alan Millyard the English genius 10 years ago in his small garage-garden, its nice to know some people who is this guy.
we love watching his vidios! him and his hacksaw.
@@karlmorrison7933 don't forget his Swiss army knife
@@anthonycarty9433 yes iol of course! and that old phone he uses.

HOLT COW!!
Never heard of this place!
So much -- information overload!
Thanks Jack! Really enjoyed it!!!
Thank you for the tour Jack. I have to get out there and check out that amazing Museum.
I would need a very long time to look around that place that's close to heaven for me 😍
That Dave Schultz kawi gave me goose bumps. What a awesome rider and bike combo!!
Danke für die Begleitung durch das Motorrad Museum. Ich bin geboren 1952 und habe viele meiner Motorräder wiedergesehen. Fahre seit 1972 und Besitzer von 32 Bikes. HONDA, SUZUKI, YAMAHA, KAWASAKI, MOTOGUZZI, TRIUMPH, BUELL, And HARLEY-DAVIDSON. Sehe gerne Deine Videos. Grüße aus Germany
I went and googled John Myers, wow found some old races that he won, thanks for telling the history of him, what a legend!
I think about Rich Oliver quite often.. we raced the AFM Northern Div. and our home track was Sears Point but we also raced Riverside, Willow Springs and Laguna Seca. The only time Rich and I were on track together was during the combined F1 - F2 races. I raced for five years but I was a mech. engineer (ME) already 28 yrs old when I bought my 1981 Honda CB750F ..but when the wins started coming, Dennis Manning sponsored the bike and we went full blown Superbike mods at his BUB Enterprises shop in San Jose Ca.. When Team Honda switched to VF750 Interceptors in 1884, I was lucky to acquire an old HRC factory support engine and things got real interesting. Thanks for the tour through history...
Had a 1969 360 mx, rd 400...,,, two strokes got to love m
Wow what an amazing display of gorgeous motorcycles. All class as usual Jack thanks for the tour from Oz
Loved it, thanks! I had 50cc Harleys, Pentons, RD350s, Bultacos, Kawasaki H1, lots of fun. Now I have 84 KR red white and blue RZ 350 and a 2013 Aprilia Tuono. Barber is on the bucket list.
This is the moment to get on a plane and go to that museum awesome.
Brilliant video, glad you also included some history and other street bikes
Much enjoyed!! A new vacation destination!!!
WOW! what a place! If I could have any bike from that collection for me it would be the 1952 Vincent Black Lightning....what a bike! Thanks again for more great content Jack
I am envious of you today Jack that is an amazing experience to see all those beautiful beautiful bikes
Awesome thanks for the history lesson loved it. 🏍
That is one fantastic museum; it makes the Petersen museum in L.A. look like a kids museum!
Motorcycle heaven, I have got to go there. I love the Harleys and looking at all the different bikes this will be one on the bucket list! I retire on June 30!
I was 13 years old in 74 my best friends big brother had an H2 750 that had to be the fastest bike I was ever on scared the she-at out of everyone lol this video brings back so many memories, his H2 was jet black lacquer black chambers totally insane bike lol fast fast fast!!!!! I know a guy that's got one now bone stock unrestored. Great video thanks!!!!!
WOOOOOOOW AWESOME AMAZING FANTASTIC MARVELOUS SUPERB MAGIC TOP ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I rode all the triples of Kawasaki’s in 72.. was weened on H2’s.. also in the early 80s had a naked kz1300 water cooled 6 cyl... didn’t handle well.. but then I was used to my GPz 550!
CycleDrag , thankyou for this .....
Great job showing all those cool bikes! A few I owed back in the day & sold for pennies!! Guess I'm not alone, thanks! Tod Merritt island FL
One of your best shows ever
Hard to kick brought back a memory, 13 yrs old i had a TM 400 went with a friend to visit a friend of his dad, he had a BSA 441 dirt bike he said if I could start it I could ride it, what a ride!!!
Alen Millyard..he is still at it, check out his channel...thankyou for sharing this, a museum ive always wanted to visit..
Good morning thanks so much I never knew this place existed. On my bucket list know!
💙🏍🇦🇺
What an incredible place👍
You killed me with the Eddie Lawson 82 air cool . Loved the old super bike days. Air cool. And you guess it love that bike.
Fricking bad - ass dude you have the best job in the world, dam I love the cycle drag videos you make
Great segment! Keep up the Great Work!
we went there back in 2005 its pretty cool, cant believe your a bike guy and this is your 1st trip there.
Thanks for this, Love the channel and your style, I thought you added the racing noise in background til you said they were racing... Amazing place and Great work showing it off!
This just went from “bucket list” to the “by the end of summer” list.
Jack, I need to purchase a cycle drag shirt to wear while I’m there!!! PLEASE!!!!!!
Amazing!!! Thanks Jack 👍🤗
I’ll never forget the day John Meyers gave me a high five in Indy when he was getting pushed to the staging lanes. Loved watching him and Dave Schultz go at it!
Great tour, thanks. Some comments: 12:57 Looks like a turbo charger :o 28:30 KX1300 was shaft drive, not sure how that goes down for drag bikes
The last bikes you showed were custom made by Allen Millyard. He's a genius when it comes to motorcycles and pretty much anything with an engine.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 Yeah man I'm subscribed to it. Some amazing stuff on there.
I wish you had given Millyard credit for those Kawasakis at the end genius engineer that he is.
Love to see that Museum, Motorsport Heaven. Thank you for the great tour.
That was AWESOME!!!!!!!
My first bike was a Kawasaki S2 350 blue in color, paid $650 in 1974. Great video, Thanks!
I rode many of these bikes, was neve a desert rider but I did do TT, flat track, scrambles, road race. We also did trail riding in the Oakland and Richmond hills.
Love the channel. You should get Sean (SRK cycles) to let u do an un depth look at his destroyer. The Barber museum is a trip I've been dying to take. Thanks for the videos. 👍
I have pictures of Dave and Merideth Schultz when I was a baby at the Speed Shop in Covington
Enjoyed all of it
What a great video!
2 strokes, sound, power band the absolute BEST. I loved them still do, Always wanted a KDX 250 and trial bike never got to buy them.
So much to see . I will do the Porcha experience next time i go. It would take weeks to absorb all the motor sport history in that place . Great vid !
Barber Museum is fantastic, spent entire day and still didn't see everything
Wow not even a word about the Hogslayer !!!
Bultaco xrc B Vincent absolutely the greatest RUclips video hands down
I gotta visit that place! I would never leave!!!
Great Video. I just went there myself. But me, just starting off, didn't know much. Trying to learn more about old motorcycles for the next time I go. Only 30 minutes away!
Amazing video you are very good !!!!! i am eduardo ruiz from california, GOD BLESS.
Have to get there, fantastic, and that was just bikes. The KZ1300 probably didn't see a lot of drag racing because it could be really squirrelly out of the gate. The shaft drive made it want to dip from side to side. Had footpeg touch on launch and hung that one up.
Awesome tour!!! Great Job!!
Absolutely awesome 😊
I gotta go there , what a place !!! , Good job Jack
H2 lover. Thanks
Remember riding my friends '73 350 Kaw. It was fun because you rolled on the throttle at low rpm and kept it open and then when it hit about 5 thou rpm the front wheel began to loft, but you had to be ready to shut it down.
my dad had the blue s-2 350 i would take it out when he went to work, they were a blast to ride!
WOOOOOOOW 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Maico 490 was a weapon of mass destruction. the 350 triple hang on when it hits the power band...
Mk3 500 kwaka had one, Wow.
Man I could spend a month in that museum just looking at the Ducati's.
Local guy over here doing great stuff at the drags on a turbo Ducati 999
Wow!!!! Good!!!!
I have a 1976 Honda show catalog ....& still have my 1970 Yamaha dt100...& the rich kid of the neighborhood rolling up on a new 77 RM125 ....& YES IMstill riding at 56
How ironic that our uk museum for motorcycles is also in Birmingham close to the NEC and airport .If your coming to santa pod its only hour and a half away just look for the NEC /airport .I would love to go to Barber did you see a Malaguti gam 1970 50cc sports when there i have one .
Vincent was never a 60s motorcycle In 1955, one week before Christmas, the last Vincent came off the production line so it makes the Vincents amazing performance even more spectacular
Love the passion, what a beautiful place
Yeah buddy! I want more
Thank you👍🏆
I thought the A M A museum in Columbus was daunting! I would need a week to go through this one!
There is no other place like Barbers..you can not see it all in one trip!!
Rip john myers my legend of drag races, harleys eow 79 cubic engines fast
I'm not sure about jumping on a steam powered bike between my legs... Lol
SURPRISED no mention of Russ Collins / RC Engineering in the drag racing section. Terry Vance and Byron Hines got their start with Russ ..... ever hear of his triple engine Honda ? His record breaking double ?
I saw Russ Collins triple engine Honda at a bike show in LA in 1983 it was called the “sorcerer”
I have the Kawasaki ST1000Z still to this day, in exactly the same colour scheme as the Eddie Lawson bike.
Awesome museum tour, must put on my bucket list, side note it take 10 autos to make enough pollution that one rig makes due to pollution control on rig, didn't see any RE5 from suzuki, or hercules wankel, norton f1 RCW588 rotary, hope museum didn't get damaged from latest round of storms.
I was a Kawasaki dealer on Oahu out in Waipahu during that time from 69 to 73 then Moved to Washington state.
I last seen John myers in 1994 @ the gatornationals. I was drag racing motorcycles at 14 years old because of John and my father. John wanted to see me in the nhra but didn’t thing they would allow me to participate due to my age.
I had a kawasaki 2 cyl 350cc which would lift the front wheel changing 3th to 4 th gear with spagetti frame drum brakes and rotary inlets. Was stolen from me in the late '70. Memory lane.
Huge thanks for your videoos
You're like me, we missed the boat as far as being able to own any of these these exotic motorcycles, never made the windfall required to own such a collection. But we get to document and be around these fascinating marvels of engineering and thats enough for me
First time I went it took 3 hrs to get to Dave Schultz H2 and that was what I went to see. Awesome place every one should see
That was impressive
Loved the trip down memory lane
My bucket listwill have me and my riding pard camping there for 3 days to really take it in, and maybe try to get permission to run our performance cruisers on the track!
Thanks Jack for the trip down memory lane 😉🤗😉
That 1985 Kawasaki GPZ was the first "new" bike I ever bought. 😎😎😎
I was hoping to see a 1971 Honda Z50 mini trail that surprised the hell out of me X-mas morning 1971. 🙈🤗🙈
I had a 1981 RM 80,I carried a pocket full of spark plugs when I rode that bike.
My last bike as a kid Was the 1984YZ 125 I heard you mention
I had an ‘83 Maico 490 spyder... constantly either broke off the kicker or stripped the spline in the kicker or almost broke your leg and thru you over the bars if it said NO!.. Nobody wanted to trail ride behind it.. would throw rocks up behind it the size of softballs. And power? On macadam, going down hill, would lift the front end , even in 5th gear, effortlessly!! After the third or 4th kick lever, and almost a busted leg a few times, we parted ways..
Awesome!
The 1929 excelsior super x hillclimber.....as soon as I seen the vidoe shot of it, the harley ironhead engine came to mind. The ironhead is awfully similar looking in design.
I love it!
Nice vlog Jack, keep on.
