I finished Xenogears for the first time on January 1st (2024)! What a game... Too big, too large, too out there, too smart, too much... They really needed four CDs to do it justice. Absolutely incredible game.
Xenogear's story was drafted to be FF7 originally, but was deemed too heavy! The director also had a lot of ideas (which kinda overflowed in the game too)! Square missed out on this!
And then it was supposed to be a sequel to Chrono Trigger but became its own thing. You can see a lot of similarities like multiple timelines, the floating high tech city, even the 3 sages with the exact same names. Really, the story boils down to, "What if HUMANS were the children of Lavos?"
I know I'm gonna embarrass her, but you all need to check Annalisa's Xenogears collection 😍 ruclips.net/video/Cua6ZrFIdWM/видео.htmlsi=4Z_4hV3uBnFDAGi8
No video game has ever touched me as deeply as Xenogears. More and more I listen to the soundtrack and to find your renditions was a real joy. Thank you, sincerely.
Xenogears is a very long game but the sound track keeps you there for all 70 hours... and in the end it is one of my favorites! You did such a wonderful job here on the piano it really takes me back to the summer in the late 90s when I played this game.
This is my favorite video game soundtrack of all time and it means a lot to me that it's getting such beautiful piano renditions. All I need now is a vinyl soundtrack of the piano renditions. I need it very badly.
I started playing XG for the very first time a few weeks ago. It's amazing the amount of wonderful pieces its soundtrack has, and the piano versions (plus your singing) you played that day on stream were amazing, like you were seriously recording the album! Glad to have been in the premiere, had lots of fun! Well done, Kara and David! ❤
Have you played the Xenoblade Chronicles trilogy? It's a worthy successor in three parts made by the same people, including Mitsuda taking part in the soundtrack ^-^
Another great upload, what a wonderful hour plus of great music. And finishing up with the vocals on Small of Two Pieces just made it magical. That was beautiful!
It is just something about your playing that takes me back to being a child again, so serene and played with style and ease, you are fantastic Kara. Thanks for giving me those emotions back with every video and every hit of the piano keys. Keep being amazing!
Ah thank you :) and yes I have to admit we are 😂😂 there is still sooooo much content I have to share with you guys and I’m already working on my next big project!! :) glad you enjoyed it :)
Im so happy youve covered it all My study session today and for tne rest of the month would be with thia video as bgm The transition between flighr and wings was astonishing Tysm Kara youre the best
22:18 Glad to see you're enjoying yourself ;) I enjoy this tune too! I'm recognizing a lot of nostalgic tunes from Xenogears, from years of listening to videogame remixes, which I previously had no idea where they came from.
This is incredible! I've loved the music from Xenogears for years and hearing it arranged for piano is so amazing. I really feel like Yasunori Mitsuda is one of the most underloved composers out there. It's funny that you can pick up a composers musical signature just by hearing their music. After listening to so much of Mitsuda's work, you can pick up his signature style. His works really have an incredible amount of emotion to them, especially if you consider what he had to work with for the SNES/PS1. You did a wonderful job with this cover as always, Kara! Thank you so much for taking the time to share it with all of us.
And that's what makes a composer great- their style that no one else has and that you can spot when you hear it! I notice similarities all the time between his three great soundtracks (xenogears, Chrono Cross, and trigger)
A truly lovely compilation Kara. Your renditions are amazing! It's wonderful to vicariously feel your obvious passion for this amazing and timeless soundtrack by the wonderful Yasunori Mitsuda, whom I met in Stockholm once. It was so nice to hear you sing as well, and your eyes are mesmerizing. Thank you so much!
Constantly humbled and reminded of the incredible talent you possess. I'm sure I'm not seeing the countless hours you pour into your craft but I absolutely want you to know that this random person thinks you're awesome. Feel bad cause I've listened to your arrangements/covers for months and didn't realize I wasn't subscribed. Fixed that issue, thank you!
Whoa I can’t believe this, Kara is doing my favorite game series of all time! Please do Xenoblade 2 at some point, some of those tracks are so beautiful. Thanks for all your hard work Kara!
Damn Kara! I didn't know you had such a beautiful voice too. That is, along with your piano skills. Your channel is among my favorites. Thank you so much for sharing.
This is an amazing collection. That music motif that flows through some of the songs, the main theme style, is simply sublime. I swear this vid just flew by. Also, beinga lifelong CC game music fan, I can hear and feel CC themes in the music of Xenogears. ❤

Wow! This brings me back to the golden age of jrpgs. Stars of tears, Shevat, the Wind is Calling, One Who is Torn Apart, Pray for the People’s Joy; I was particularly interested on these 4 as they're my favorites. I like your singing voice and your cover of the whole ost! these 4 have been on my playlist since late 2000s along with earlier Motoi Sakurabi compositions (Tales of Destiny, Valkyrie Profile, Golden Sun)
I found your channel going down a rabbit hole of nostalgia and melancholy listening to music I grew up with, specifically Terra's theme from FF6 (exquisite, by the way), then the algorithm brought me to this one. Uploaded two weeks ago, and of Xenogears of all games! The game that defined my childhood, and me as a person, for a very long time. From philosophy to psychology, religion, love. Even martial arts! Last year I got a tattoo of the Nisan Cross on my back. It makes me super happy that people are still loving on this game (and music!) so many years down the road. Yasunori Mitsuda is an absolute musical genius, right along Nobuo Uematsu. The entire track list is absolutely stunning, but the two that stick out are October Mermaid (Emeralda's Theme) and Shevat, The Wind is Calling. I very much look forward to your renditions. Playing now.
