And now 3 years later we have 3 total but 2 Superbowl wins with Mahomes at QB. Pretty awesome from a fan who's first game I remember was the longest game against Miami.
That 48 Rose Bowl play. That was football back then. The QB usually lined up where Mahomes was after that shift. They called that player the QB because he was a primarily a blocking running back that stood closest to the line. A QUARTER back, while the ball was hiked to a tail back or half back who ran behind the full back and they quarter back. It was, after the shift, an old school single wing formation with the qb, then the fb, then the tb or hb, who got hiked the ball. Again, they, qbs, were mostly blockers and rarely threw the ball. They still called the plays though.
Although by 48, some QBs were starting to line up under the center and pass or hand off the ball. Before that, it was mostly the single wing stuff. No one lined up under center, it was all from the shotgun, and they qb didn't hand off the ball. Either the HB or tb got hiked the ball in shotgun, most of the time he ran it right up the middle, occasionally to the sides, or he handed off to the Wing back who lined up on the line to either side of the tackles in a kind of end around. A wing back, not an end or wide receiver. Only rarely did they throw it. But if they did, the HB threw it. Not the qb. A whole different game back then. Dating back to the time before the forward pass. Because a lot of people, including Walter Camp, didn't like the forward pass, the ball was like a fat, somewhat football shaped medicine ball and very hard to throw. Because it was rounder though, it was easier to drop kick and most points back then were dropped kicked field goals so a HB or tb number 1 skill, even more that. running perhaps, was drop kicking field goals. Which is still legal. Remember, Doug Flutie kicked one for the Pats in the 2000s. You get hiked the ball in the shotgun, bounce it off the ground, and just after it bounces off the ground, you try to kick it threw the uprights. Shows how guys like Bellicheck and Reid are true students of the game and its history and even sometimes use that knowledge to win games. Very cool IMO...
Btw, they first instituted the forward pass because so many people were getting killed playing football it almost got banned. Teddy Roosevelt was pres though and he loved football and helped implement the forward pass to help save football. It was kind of considered sissy stuff to throw the forward pass for a long time after that and it was discouraged with the heavy round ball and rules like if you threw an incomplete pass, the other team got the ball. Even soccer didnt institute the forward pass until around thw time or i think actually after, American football did. Can you imagine soccer without a forward pass? Be even more boring than it is now.
Even in 48, the forward pass had been legal for 40 years, it was still difficult to pass the ball and the game was still mostly that play. Single wing up the middle. 3 yards and a cloud of dust...
16:00 Boo! Let them play. They were pushing on each other. BOTH of them. And not enough for a PI either way. Its like if he doesn't catch it, they call defensive PI, if he does, they call offensive PI. I'm serious. I really think that's how it worked on that play. STUPID...
didn't show the best part. after the last mahomes int the niners lined up in the end zone for a group photo. it was tots adorbs. little did they know it was a group photo for the runner-up, second place, thanks for participating losers. so cute. they actually thought they could beat the G.O.A.T. Patrick effing Mahomes II. lel
this is the most emotional moment of my whole life as a football fan, seeing the Kansas City Chiefs winning their first super bowl in 50 years!!!!

I'm still in shock and I was pulling for the Chiefs!
#UNBELIEVABLE!
P Mahomes will never quit. This is the reason, I Cannot wait to watch the Chiefs for a decade. If 15 is in the game it is not over until 0:00.
13 seconds....

“I will be back here” Love that attitude
I miss the old HBO days of this show when they left the cussing in the highlights.
27:25 Jimmy G's moment of truth
Sanchez is gonna be GREAT on television.
I’m genuinely shocked he did all 20 😂

"3rd and 15" !
I simply cannot believe he did the 20. I'm gobsmacked. There was no fucking way. I'm more amazed than 28-3. Really. Its just crazy.
Sanchez is like Romo in that both clearly make better media guys than QBs.
Michael Irvin making excuses for pushing off a defender? The same Michael Irvin who pushed off on every play?
20 TOO 17 NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT CHIEFS DEFENCE 3 AND OUT ON SAN FRAN?
Always entertaining
Ray Lewis is right, if niners can run crazy on the Vikings while safety’s stayed in the box they could do it to the chiefs.
Omar Alaniz
yea branon marshall learn how too catch a pass!
push off was a mistake didnt need do!
