    Finally somebody who can take pictures and understand how to treat the images afterwards. Love how you make blacks go black. I’m buying this camera now!

    Timeless photos like walking through a time machine and put on freeze the pic. Chris, your mini portable gallery is an educational delight. Every picture speaks intuitively.
    Encourages me to roam around town one day and see where I land to behold instant freeze images.

    Lovely images. You have good intuition for how to pull the aesthetic qualities out of film.

    Chris, you did capture that Meyerowitz feeling in these images..the grain and contrast gave me flashbacks to my film days in the 70’s and 80’s! They do look and feel like older images. Thanks for your content as always..a hug from Jersey stateside.

    Lovely , absolutely sublime, Back to basics and there is such a thing as sufficiency and complacency in this modern age
    - just the simple pleasure of enjoying the art of photography.
    That seems to be a rare thing today as it is all about next new gear -Thank you for sharing

    Thank you for this lovely video Chris. I admire your photo style and is very inspiring for me. Another unique Fuji fixed lens character discovered as well. Both S and W are wonderful and I was expecting this video from you for days now :) Keep up the quality work, cheers!

    Congratulations on the Klasse W! May you enjoy it for a long, long time. I had the chance to buy a Klasse in Japan years ago, but I let it go. Kind of regret it now.

      Thank very much 🙂 If I had bought it years ago I might have saved some money, but I think I still got a good deal. I'm looking forward to using it.

    I like your timeless documentary style, maybe one day I will try film! I've finally got my hands on the Fuji 35mm 1.4 enjoying learning with that so far!

      Thank you Tom. Film is easy to try and quite fun. The 35mm f1.4 is fantastic, I hope you enjoy it.

    Dated is the new timeless, Chris. And your pictures certainly bring that feel. Do you add soft grain in post or does it come directly out of the camera? Cheers!

    • @ChrisBoland
      @ChrisBoland  5 лет назад

      I like that 🙂 I am always happy to edit my film photos, but never add any grain. I do a little too my digital pictures though. I recently took the Klasse to Spain and shot Portra 160,400, and 800 - it's interesting comparing them, especially the different grain.

    Hey Chris, great photos.
    I am looking for a new point and shoot camera, since you own both do you have a preference between the Fujifilm Klasse W and the Fujifilm Natura Black?
    Cheers!

    • @ChrisBoland
      @ChrisBoland  2 года назад +1

      Thank you Anthony. They are both fantastic. I would say the biggest differences are that with the Klasse you have an exposure compensation dial. With the Black comp is with buttons and resets when you turn it off. Also, the viewfinder of the Black is quite small and fiddly. Despite the Klasse winning those comparisons - the Black is exceptionally small and light and fun to use. Overall the Klasse feels more substantial and less likely to be frustrating at times :-)

    How is this camera for street photography? I heard it’s too slow for it but ur photos look good! What do u think?

    • @ChrisBoland
      @ChrisBoland  4 года назад +1

      Hi. It is true that there is a tiny lag between pressing the shutter and the shot. I didn't notice this on my own as with my style of pictures I'm rarely looking for exact moments. But when I read about it I started noticing it more. But it's small and high quality and nice to use.

    What film did you use for these pictures in the video

  • @philiphyndman3583

    Fantastic stuff, Chris! Beautiful imagery. I have recently dabbled in film after shooting so much with the X100 and X-Pro cameras. The change is good but I haven't tried colour yet. Are you developing/scanning yourself? Or, do you rely on a lab?

    • @ChrisBoland
      @ChrisBoland  5 лет назад +1

      Thank you Philip. I don't develop film myself, but have been scanning at home - which all of these are.

    • @philiphyndman3583
      @philiphyndman3583 5 лет назад +1

      @@ChrisBoland after spending 44eur on two rolls developed and scanned by a lab, I will also be looking to do the same as you. Do you mind me asking which scanner you are using? The results look great
