Every time I come back to this video, it gives me the same incredible goosebumps. Everything about this trailer is so perfect, it makes me want to load Skyrim up right now! For me, it's the best video game trailer ever made, and probably played a large part in the incredible success of Skyrim.
Even 5 years after it's release , I still consider Skyrim to be one of the best game I ever played and I am super exited to play it again at the end of the year .
I worked on the announcement of this trailer when I worked with Bethesda, and must have watched it a thousand times - was the hardest thing to keep a secret for ages when all I wanted to do is tell everyone about how excited I was!
@@nathanntf1924 ac3 was good... But is too small compared to world of Skyrim... It just takes a week to finish the main story of ac3.. but I'm Skyrim, even in 2019 I learn new things....
@MrTsiolkovsky I never could get into the witcher 3. It's hard to explain but there is a fundamental difference between them. The witcher 3 felt... constraining and slow. It never made you feel... I guess hype? In skyrim YOU are the hype. The world was yours. Nothing will ever compete with killing your first dragon and fucking absorbing its soul. Sure witchers combat was more "complex" but there wasn't any room for creativity. You couldn't yeet people into a gain't camp with your voice.
My God, I remember watching this for the first time and having no idea what was in store for us. After seeing the first few screenshots, I began frequenting UESP for research in excitement. Then the first gameplay trailer was released in March, and the full-on hype began. Then June came, and the E3 demos were shown. That made the days that much longer. October came, and Battlefield 3 accelerated the release. And now, we've been through so much, my friends, and it's finally here. Happy gaming :)
I still remember the day I got Skyrim, Got the morning college bus to the local town (even though it was my day off) and walked straight to Grangers Games in Selby and bought it.
They did such a great job at getting the BEST voice for the narrating of this opening video of SKYRIM! Each video I watched for this game... Has gotten my attention like no other game has done before. I though Dark Souls was great, well, I think is is going to completely over due Demon's Souls and Dark Souls put together.
no flashy cgi, no fancy special effects, or big name actors, no, just a stone wall, a monologue, and the music made this the most epic trailer for anything ever
Can't imagine how it felt back in the day watching this trailer. Were people excited their character was going to be a dragonborn, just like so many historical figures before?
Skyrim grows on a person the more you play it. You get attached to it. Its easy to get immersed in the World and to love all the stupid npcs with their comments, for example. They make me smile. And the modding that's possible! That really puts the game over the top for me.
+Last Dragonborn meh, this teaser was fairly lame as no gameplay whatsoever was shown....the first gameplay trailer was another story xD.... Really hope that the next TES game is set on Valenwood, its tropical environment would be completely opposite to Skyrim.
+Last Dragonborn I definitely did, since I already knew about the lore and the Dragonborn from playing the previous games where the Emperor and his sons were Dragonborn, when I first saw this I thought they would be returning rather than you yourself being the Dragonborn.
+LoN3wOlF5tudi0s for me its even more awesome as I just recently started playing Skyrim for REAL xD...I mean I bought the collector's edition for Xbox 360 already at launch in 2011, but I never really got into the game for one reason or another and quit after playing just few hours....but now I finally decided to get back into it , this time with fully modded PC version...and I mean pretty much FULLY modded, the only thing I didnt touch was gameplay/combat itself, but total graphics overhaul, which makes the game look almost completely different and all the different "immersion mods", all the biggest additional content mods, several follower mods, all sorts of stuff, over 150 mods all together....and I have to say that where the "vanilla" Skyrim in 2011 failed to grab me from the balls like Morrowind and Oblivion did, this modded version feels exactly how I wanted the game to feel and look already in 2011....I really have to force myself not play too much until summer though, when I can take small break from my studies :D
Start a new Oblivion character instead. Don't get me wrong, Skyrim job is a great game, but imo Oblivion is the Elder Scrolls best title to date (Morrowind remastered would probably beat it). Skyrim has better graphics and a better combat system, but Oblivion does nearly everything else better.

Kationix if starfeild is playable why wasn't there a hint of GamePlay or even a concept trailer that tells us the premise. We have absolutely no information on starfeild. And pre production literally means they haven't started programming the game so depending on when starfeild comes out it will be minimum 5 years

Come on Azeroth doesn't feel alive (at least not wow Azeroth), it's pretty much as controlled an environment as can be. I don't get the feeling of the world being alive then.
