Great video! I have done this ride myself countless times, but it is great to watch a video that adds a lot of the background and history. I read your review today on your blog - nice job guys!

I bike this daily (New West to St Paul's Hospital). It's a beautiful ride with a mixture of urban streets and back (country) roads. I highly recommend it.

with all the dangerous crossings and sections, I don't feel like this is ideal for cyclists, especially for people not familiar with the route. It seems like you can easily get lost.

This is a beautiful bike ride, about 24 km, and you can even do it this time of year. Not safe all the way for kids though. Thanks for this great commentary - I think it makes a great introduction for those about to tackle the ride, to see if they feel confident to do it.

Wow, this is so disappointing, it's hardly better than just riding on any old route. I was expecting a safe route for riders.

Bike infrastructure in Burnaby and Vancouver are abysmal tbh.

Compared with most of North America this is a dream. It’s pretty sad, really.

It is quite well sign posted, but not perfect. It is safe to have an active internet connection.

great video, time for an update for 2020! i'd take 10th avenue instead of first to avoid the awful clark drive thang! #ymmv

Well that was excellent, I haven’t ridden this route but now with your video I know what to expect. A little intimidating with the traffic. What about returning, is it possible to take the sky train with the bike back to science world ?

Crazy how in Canada, the powers that be will slap a bike sign on a sidewalk or a smaller road, and hey presto - a bike path. And drivers still think its a waste of tax money. Embarassing really. This is not a bike path. Its a few nice bike paths connected by lots of car infrastructure, no so cleverly disguused as bike infrastructure.

I've walked along the CVG a couple years ago. There's a beautiful section that takes you through Burnaby Lake.
Only took about three hours. The reward at the end was a celebratory pint at the pub across from the New West pier.
