Indeed. The United States has fallen way off. It is hard to believe that other countries used to look up to this country. Now, they look to it for the next shocking episode.
There needs to be major overhaul of Senate rules on things like this. It would have to take a lot more to put holds on promotions, if a SCOTUS seat becomes empty during one presidents term the Senate is NOT allowed to hold it over to the next administration. There can be no nominee's only 3 months before an election, we've seen what happened there. And filibuster rules must be changed or throw it out entirely.
The Senate has way to much power over the majority of Americans that disagree with them & SCOTUS.

There are exception for rape incest and life of the Mother.
