Awww, this is so nostalgic! I remember watching this and then I bought my first bottle of No. 5 - the EDT. And what a rabbit hole I went down after this! 😂
I am so sorry that I didn't find out about your channel years ago, Dacob! Granted that I was about 11-12 years old when you posted this video😅, so it wasn't entirely my fault 😅😍 Love you, Dacob! You're making me fall in love with Chanel over and over again💖💖💖💖
I have so many perfume videos to catch up on! I just became a follower/fan this year. I’m making a No. 5 EDP (anniversary) purchase. Thank you for insight and reviews
What a beautiful review my dear Dacob, now I’m convinced what perfume I’m getting for Christmas and to celebrate its 100th anniversary, Chanel N.5 Parfum 💖 🥰💐🍾
I just revisited this video and was struck by the way your eyes get that drugged ‘cuz in love look when you sniff Chanel No. 5. It is like you smoked opium. It is also the way I feel with No. 5. I will have to look in the mirror some time when I spray it to see if my pupils dilate and get that look too, because I know I feel like I was temporarily drugged at first sniff! 😂I get it! I feel it! I am an old woman who has been married for many years, but this fragrance gives me the high of the first blush of falling in love every damn time! ❤
Oh Dacob❤ I started with Chanel Paris and from then the rest is history😁 Before i purchase a perfume its a must to watch your channel first to make sure i will make a good decision haha.Thank you !My collections are growing quickly and I'm loving them❤and I love you❤
I really loved this and really appreciate the time and passion you put into your work... I don't know if you use it much but would love to see you do a video like this for Mitsouko...!!
How come I hadn’t seen this wonderful video? Well better late than never. I would be in problems of choosing between Chanel N5, Coco, Egoïste and Shalimar if going to an island so I’m lucky that will never happen. Going to the topic, I believe Chanel N5 is such a perfect creation not only for it’s historical importance but also for it’s unique perfection. So perfect that anyone should at least try it once in their lifetime, despite some may hate it (poor little things). Dad used to steal it from my mom the same way granny used to steal my Egoïste, so I was raised without the perfume label issue and I just love it. On my skin N5 smells totally different than on my dad’s or mom’s. Another thing to make me worship it. I have all it’s current versions, parfum, edt, edp, hair parfum, Eau Premiere, L’Eau and the oil. Yes I love it! Now a question: Is it true that N5 edp doesn’t have rose? Maybe it’s my brain playing with me but I smell roses. Would you like to clarify that? Have a magnificent weekend!
I was so happy to discover your perfume channel! My budget for luxury bags and accessories is quite limited, but my love of fragrance means I ALWAYS find a way. I associate classic Chanel No. 5 with my beautiful, glamorous aunt. She was well-traveled and adventurous but very elegant in her dress and deportment. She adored No. 5 because she felt it was the most “authentically feminine” commercial scent, in her words “flattering, never floozy”. 😆 After she died I inherited her rather extensive collection, and I was saddened to discover the differences between one of her 50s/60s era bottles and my more recent purchase. I wonder, is it just part of the aging process or have the formulations really changed that much?
I read somewhere that the original Chanel 5 signature that Marilyn Monroe wore is the not the same Chanel 5 being sold on the market nowadays. They have changed the reformulation due to ingredients restrictions. So yes, the one you have compared to your Aunt’s is modified version. Not your Aunt’s original version she wore. I read that the one Marilyn Monroe was wearing was phenomenal and the vanilla notes was much more pronounced and men were falling weak on their knees around her when she wore the Chanel 5. Very interesting!
In part its the aging process of the fragrance but it is also the difference in materials used and the new ingredient restrictions but also a choice to tweak the formula to make it more up to date with the times we live in. However, the drydown is still magical even in the modern day formulation. xoxo
yeah :) he did some of the best fragrance reviews on YTsphere. No 5, Poison, Sauvage, Oud Ispahan are my favorite reviews... Hope he does not delete them from main channel though :(
at Thushara: I will not delete this video from my main channel because I do not wish to lose all the wonderful comments and love from that video and its comment section :)
Hearing you fawning about it I thought maybe I was mistaken about No 5 so I ordered a sample of the EDP. Took 2 weeks to get to me and as soon as I sprayed it smelled familiar. It smelled like old lady perfume to me. I must have smelled it a thousand times on other people. To me it's Rich Bitch™, big coat with a furry collar and a handbag big enough to knock your head off. Harsh, overbearing and cold at the same time, but that's how she learned to be. It's like how leopard print was young and trendy in the 50s and 60s but now it's just associated with older women (who've been wearing it since the 50/60s) - I feel like No 5 is in the same vein. That being said the Chloe EDP sample I also ordered I instantly fell in love with, so different strokes!
You probably did not try the parfum... sounds like the edp... which was released in the 80s when shoulder pads were even bigger than the bags you wanted to hit a person with. haha.
I put my purse spray of Chanel no 5 in a little velvet Chanel pouch now before putting into my handbag because it can scratch very easily (unfortunately I found this out)
You look adorable back then Dacob and you still do now with gorgeous long hair 😍🥰 my Nana was born on Nov 21, 1921. The birth of Chanel 5. Omg where you get the book?
You are wrong. It is technically actually a timeless classic double flap small if you want to be so anally precise about it. It is not just a classic flap. But it actually IS a 2.55 bag because it comes from the 2.55 double flap family which originated in 1955. You are confusing yourself with the 2.55 REISSUE bag, which is also just a further development of the original 1955 2.55 model. Both the 2.55 REISSUE as well as the Timeless Classic Double flap bags are technically from the 2.55 bag family. You live and you learn kiddo.

This video begins a series of celebrating N°5 and the love I have for this perfume so get ready for a scented nostalgia journey together :)
Same story here!

It keeps its DNA throughout it's where on someone, it doesn't fade into staleness like others. It's a quality fragrance that keeps its promise.
I love it 💖
Thank you for reuploading this video Dacob, absolutely love it

@@essence-tiallydacob9611 plus this is a perfume that smells so differently on different people and chemistries
I have the Chloe and pair it with Chanel 5, give it a try.
Have you heard about Chanel N°5 Voile Perfume Refreshing Body Mist? Idk if it's a vintage edition?
I need another 6.8 oz Eau de parfum as my last bottle is almost empty Lol. There is something so luxurious about spraying that big bottle!
Its the best 🥰🥰🥰
Are you thinking of the beautiful 60s/70s model Jean Shrimpton?
I put my purse spray of Chanel no 5 in a little velvet Chanel pouch now before putting into my handbag because it can scratch very easily (unfortunately I found this out)
I also always put mine in a little pouch first 🥰
5 Forever

Haha! And the top in this video is reflective! I light up at night with this one! haha
