The M54 is a good engine if you want to keep power around 400WHP, maybe more if you only street drive it. Drifting just seemed super harsh on these engines, but I probably demanded a lot more out of it than I should've.
its true about the washer, nice that you sand them. My only concern is the Athena gasket quality,we had many issues , leaking coolant and oil externally due to wrong gasket thickness vs the ring
it's funny you say that, because the engine had a. external coolant leak from the HG the first couple heat cycles but ended up sealing after I retorqued the studs multiple times.
Dope build, can't wait to start a similar project with my wagon. How high are you going to be revving it without shims? I hear conflicting info about the rev limits
going from turbo m54 to m52 in my drift e46 this month ! this video is good info
I’ll try to make a video explaining everything involved with the swap!
About time !
Sorry for the delay!
Whats the reson behind the change from m54 to m52?
One big factor is cause the m52 is a iron block instead of aluminum m54 block

Thanks man. Hopefully somewhere between 7500-7800RPM. Really depends if the car makes power at that RPM.
Hell yeah brother
Cheers mate 🍻
do you think wiring a switch to stock efan is necessary for stock motor
I would run the stock wiring and let the ECU control it.
