I have mine turned up for the jerks that swing there door out way to close to my car I dont touch anyone's stuff and I park way in the back and they will still come and park by me its so annoying im tired of random scratches in my paint so this works out good it goes off from rain though

first off the sensor will only pick up high density objects so a car door being opened (which is the only thing that should get within an inch or two of your car..) wouldn't set it off.. also, he showed that you literally have to looking through the window, or brushing up against the car for it to be set off. A person walking by about a foot away (depending on sensitivity settings) wouldn't set it off. It's actually a pretty good system with decent safeguards to protect against false alarms..
Yes you can...I had mine set slightly further away on mine...Warn Off saved my car so many times...it's a great feature and I've had Vipers in all my car's

Not sensitive enough.. you had to nearly rub your body on the car in order for the alarm to trigger.. i would expand the proximity range from 1 feet to 3-4 feet

i had quite a couple of alarms that talks,& yeah,i had viper too,is a cobra logo,the one that i had,would say that,& the 3rd time it would go on,complete,i also had bulldog alarm,they are cheap & pretty kool,scare the hell out of thieves,jajaja///
the most ridiculous alarm ever.. so, it' says some corny line everytime someone walks by your car.. wouldn't it be better to have a normal alarm and brake club, with a gps unit somewhere inside it?
