This shortcut has been known about, and used to get WRs, since 2020, and you can't get red shells on time trials anyway. The strats for Rainbow Road shortcut on Time Trials and GP have always been very different.

not really. in grand prix you don't start with 3 mushrooms so you could only maybe use the starting boost and then still need items for laps 2 and 3.
