Aeroturtle are you able to go into the files and change the oswald efficiency factor of the SU-27? It is incorrect in game , it's 0.44, it needs to be upped to 0.71. Is there a way to do this?

@@aenodarr7936 Idk, it seems to be much worse than it used to be, back ~1 year ago when the su27 was added, even low speed HOBL like this would hardly ever miss or spin, nowadays it seems even at mach one in a near straight line the r73 just falls out of the air for no reason.
With trim rating the flanker can rate with a lot of aircraft. The issue is that in game its rate speed is more than the pilot can handle without blacking out so people use trim because that keeps the jet turning when blacked out. I think that its retention should be better at like 450 knots than it currently is, and less at 500+ cuz more drag force. That would prob fix the rating issue bc I’m sure irl that thing shouldn’t be doing 23 degrees per second at 500+ knots. It should be rating at lower speeds. Of course though, it does make sense that it rates better at blackout speeds because irl aircraft do. If you look at EM diagrams the limiting factor for rate speed is usually the g limiter
its turn rate at even 650 kph is modeled correctly.. the flanker in game can do 20 deg/s and maintain it (which is similar to its irl performance), but the issue is that it loses too much speed when pulling aoa. this makes it so youll be at a massive disadvantage before you can even start to use that turn rate in your favor. most planes will just whip their nose around at you because they just maintain their instantaneous turn rate for longer. its severely gimped in war thunder and not for the reason many people think.
Retention does need to be better. Currently it just turns into a brick at low-speeds. Now if you're pulling on the stick 100% of course you'll stall out. Regardless the jet bleeds too much.
@ I think at super low speeds it shouldn’t really have better retention but better acceleration. It like doesn’t accelerate at all which is really what its problem is in a dogfight. Once you get to stall speeds you’re toast if they have enough energy to dodge your nose for a couple seconds. They WILL get away from you and energy trap you

It isn’t confirmed that SM3 actually has better radar. Knowing gaijin, they will just make it slightly better SM but at same bracket as Typhoon, F-18 and such

Damn, 3 tons is around 17% lighter and with more powerful engines…. Just for comparison the MiG-29A is just 400kg(~5%) lighter than the MiG-29SMT and is powered by the same engines but the difference in performance between those 2 jets is huuuuge
They better add the better engines for it since the one good Air superiority fighter that Russia gets will be now outmatched in every way possible (probs already is apart from missile count and turn rate on the missiles). Russia needs to get an amazing air superiority fighter cuz anyone who isn't Russia or maybe (just maybe) china get long range fire and forget missiles on every single one of their top tier jets not just strike aircraft, plus Israel and America will now get a much better F15 that will legit be the end of anyone grinding the F16, F15 tree currently.

As a modernization of the Su-27, the Su-37 was previously developed with the same controlled thrust vector, but a larger wing area and with a front horizontal tail. The front horizontal tail helps the aircraft at critical angles of attack, and therefore the Su-37 and Su-30MK2 can perform steeper maneuvers (especially since the Su-27 family already has a rather elongated nose). Therefore, in Russia, Su-30MK2 is now being produced more for its own army, this is a two-seater Su-35 with controlled thrust vector and a front horizontal tail. And the Su-35S is more of an export machine for allies like Iran or North Korea, but despite slightly weaker flight characteristics, it is unlikely that this will make things easier for Israel or South Korea ;)
As people has point on in Warthunder forum. current Su-27 FM in game its bleeding too much speed.. In fact its bleeding twist of what it does IRL. Other thing i read just yesterday on warthunder forum.. Current su-27 fm can't perform a 110 120 cobra even when Dev talk about it on videos. Also Eugine if im not wrong was the user that also made a lot of report of how a lot of western Jet are currently over performing in Turn rate like F-16, F-14, F-4 etc....
Thats because War Thunder planes run with barely minimun fuel and War thunder has a G buff to all planes (1.5x if i'm not wrong). If we search for historical accuracy like some tanks players wanted too, the machtmaking would be pure chaos.

Honestly I'll take gameplay over realism at this point. Just make the jets balanced with each other.
