Hi Dennis, I like the your contents and also liked the course you've made on Django. As a fan of your course, I'd like to say that please create a course on Django including various types of Testing that are done in the industry. There are a lot of course on different frameworks but no one includes the testing part. Please do that if possible.
Guys please tell me, is web dev still worth it? I've spent years of my life learning it and can't find a job as an entry level, as I live in Africa, there're not a lot of enterprises so I'm trying to find a job using Upwork. And I find more than 50 proposals for a job paying $5-$12 per hour, it's as if web dev has become prohibited to new entrants. Also, what tech stack is trendy now? What should I learn to find a place in the market. Please help me.
I'm totally fine with all said but i really think that in the end of day django developer even that use HTMX need to know JS because it unlocks full functionality of htmx framework. I even tried with alpine ajax but htmx is simply more flexible but under condition of knowing JS. But yeah, if you want to get that shit things done, htmx can be of help.
Django actually did nothing regarding the frontend in the last couple years. There are many external libraries, but there should at least be some view component or partial rendering in the core/contrib. Django totally missed the js frontend ecosystem (something like Laravel Mix). It's a great framework for writing backend code.
Very informative. I've been curious about htmx. I'm not sure where I'll be able to use it yet. Obviously Vue is a palatable JS option for Python devs, but I wonder if it is common knowledge that it can be integrated without abandoning the Django batteries or overcomplicating production deployments. I like to wrap modular Vue frontend projects within an app in a Django project. The frontend components access most data from DRF endpoints in any app. Also, it is still possible to pass context directly from the Django template (where the Vue app is mounted) so that it is available to the frontend. The Vue SPA builds to static, then some custom scripts rename things within the template to match the latest generated Vue asset files. In this setup, Django still controls routing, session auth, or whatever else you want it to while Vue provides that reactive experience. I've been using this architecture for almost two years. It makes it simple for an independent developer to test both ends together while leveraging capabilities from each framework in order to rapidly develop and easily maintain resilient solutions.
Django developers also love Dennis Ivy. 😉
Haha I love it 👊

welcome brother. we missed you.
Dennis, can you please make a tutorial combining both Django Rest framework API and HTMX CRUD operations. Waiting for this awesome tutorial. Thanks 🙂
Why would you want that
Hmmm interesting. Is there any good classes, or turorials on how to learn, integrate and use HTMX with Django?
I’ll be making some and live streaming as well
Thanks!
Thank you, appreciate the donation 🙏
HTMX MENTIONED!
Awesome as always 🙂
The legend's here.🎉🎉
I look forward to the day you create a tutorial on a medium-to-large project featuring Django and HTMX.

Django developers love VueJS 3.0 as well....😄
True. I’ve actually been playing around with Vue. Quite enjoyable

Feels like a decade since I used Django. 😅
A decade too long
Don't react, HTMX
Great
Hey Dennis, can I use drf with appwrite
Thinking of a project to build with it but I was to use Django rest framework
You're Looking Sharp Man
Haha thank you ☺️
After such a long time
how about django-unicorn ?
I'll have to try it first before I give an opinion :)
is inertiajs good with django? i heard that it can be used with django
Yes, it is. If you need the spa ecosystem, it's a great alternative to creating api endpoints and using client-side state.
@@codedbyshoe thanks my man
Hello is it worth it to learn django in 2025 ????
