I see you left this comment 3 years ago, but seeing how much you seem to love the show I've decided to brighten your day with this notification. 😄 I just wanted you to know I agree with everything you wrote. I've just finished watching the show. I'm on a mission to watch David Tennant's every major role. But this show... I came for DT, I stayed for basically everybody. Every character is so lovable. And I can relate to their struggles because I have anxiety and depressive disorder and the struggle of getting a job if you're not hiding your condition is still real even nowadays. Anyway, I think episodes 3 and 4 were the most optimistic, with the whole pack spending time together. It kinda went down from there, with Fergus' death, Francine's story and Eddie's drinking problem. The ending was so bittersweet. I was glad for out little baby boy Campbell for achieving his dream, but when the credits rolled I cried because I was still waiting for a happier ending. But that's not always how life works. You can't have everything. And this series was so brilliant for making me fall in love with the characters and wishing them all the best and then reminding me time and time again that life's not fiction and not everything turns out as we wanted but no matter what happens we can be there for each other and that's all that matters. Also, I love your facts about Fergus and I'll try to come up with some, too! He was surely a great guy to hang out with. Quiet yet witty. 😞

I even made a fan-edit movie called "Takin' Over The Asylum the 'Truth as it should be' Cut". Unfortunately RUclips would give me a huge copyright strike. -- Perhaps I'll be able to find a way to share it.

I appreciate it all just as the writer wanted it to be. 🙂 You know, Fergus' death was most certainly supposed to be eye-opening for people stigmatizing mental illness. To show them that sometimes it's not the illness itself that really makes people suffer but the social stigma that comes with it. Same with Campbell's dad and Rosalie's husband. But to each their own of course. I still understand your need for a happy ending. 🙂
