Then the problem of too much information and the obsessive collection of information and too little practice. Collection of information makes the mind busy and opposite of the goal of quietude of the mind and ultimately dissolution of the ego.
No comparison. Unfortunately you won't get the same experience. Ramana Maharashis best way to convey his state was to sit silently and smile. Written language is open to misunderstanding when describing simple things........not to imagine the state beyond words
The Catholic mystic Bernadette Roberts had a very similar spiritual journey, although obviously using different terminology and symbols. While they are so different on the surface, they are profoundly similar. Such contrast and similitude can be illuminating for anyone wanting to appreciate Nisargadatta from another angle.
It should be noted that both Nisargadatta and Bernadette lived in the bliss and unity of the I AM state (unitive state or theosis for Bernadette) before they realized Parabrahman (Crucifixion and Ascension for Bernadette). It takes years for the self in its blissful union with God to burn out before you see God with God's own naked eye. Yet, even while a Jivatman, you can glimpse this supreme Knowing. For a Christian, this absolute Knowing is called "Faith". It is out of the hole in the self that Faith becomes possible, and it is around this hole that the bliss of union bubbles up to a boil.
Catholic...sure some stands out of the chorus .I doubt very much so that the concept of I AM is being doctrined. Non duality is a possible, though and that's the base of oneness
@@trocadero1965 God is I Am in Catholicism. As Aquinas, a doctor of the Church, put it, God is the pure act of Being itself. The first act of the intellect is an intuition of being. Later theologian Maritain would clarify this involves a profound intuitive knowledge of the souls being as it transparently participates in God's Being. Not the same as non-duality in advaita, but arguably a different way to interpret the same experience of oneness.

This is beautiful. Thank you. I have been blessed after many years meditating- I read 'Who Am I" when I was 10 years old in 1967 (!) - with experiencing nights when I have been completely relaxed and aware all night long, without sleeping. No sense of time or space, just simply aware. A blessing. An amazing beautiful experience, of non-being. As was talked about here. 🕉 Blessings to all. Gratitude 🙏
❤ His teachings are exactly those of Eckhart Tolle. "The pure consciousness, before I am" and everything else is constructed upon by the ego, the false "self". 🎉❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this clear and concise teaching. The synchronicity’s are lining up, so wonderfully for me right now, it is really just unexplainable. I won’t try to explain it, I will just sit in the presence of it and radiate love.
Great Video, But one mistake... dont know why , but you said he suddenly realized while wondering that he has to come back home etc.... While in in the book I AM THAT, Nisargadatta explains that he met a monk while wondering and after conversing with him, that Sadhu convinced him ... that I AM can be sought outside or inside home... meaning DOES NOT MATTER where you are... upon reflecting Nisargadatta decided to return to home. You welcome :)
So what!? The point is the same without mentioning the monk. There is no mistake. Omission of an irrelevant detail is not a mistake. And don't say "You welcome" like that. As if you did someone a great favor and now they owe you! Lol...
Thank you so very much for this fine addition to the historical record. And I especially value the content. Contrasting the 2 Big Guys is helpful to me.

It is indeed true that “I thought “ is simply a thought prior to rest of all thoughts. So it is simply a thought which gives the feeling of false ego. And it is so deep rooted.
Thank you for this - nirgun john is currently sharing Nisargadatta Maharaj's teachings every week. He is excellent and has a channel on RUclips but you can also attend his satsangs live every Saturday.
"Consciousness is subtle, luminous and self-sensing. It is subtler than space". I once worked a lot on Vishudha chakra (the chakra that governs the element of space). And physical reality started in those days to fade for me. Surroundings and even people started to appear like shadows. I once had to touch a friend of mine just to make sure he was really there and had a physicality to him, cause I was having trouble relating to the physical. It seemed transparent and without real substance. It was like everything physical was imagined compared to that state of space I was sensing which was all encompassing and much more "solid", if one can use that word, than anything else. I remember thinking to myself: what is the hardest thing I know of? And I thought of a diamond. But I strongly felt that even a diamond would melt in comparison to that state of space, or akasha that was becoming more real to me. And this was only on the level of the fifth chakra. The consciousness Nissargadatta speaks of is even subtler than that.
In the midst of all the chaotic noise on the youtube platform, like lotus flowers, these videos appears. For the one who has ears to hear, these are the only ones to listen to.
Great video. Thank you. The picture of stephen wolinsky is not the right one. You put howard wolinsky there. But apart from that great video. Thank you for your work. Maybe stephen wolinsky would be worth a video as well. Quantum psychology is great. Greetings.

Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj attained the state of jivanmukta through the Guru's grace, merging with the spiritual substratum (Brahman) that permeates all existence-which is a mere fraction of the power of the Supreme Lord Krishna.
In your mind! Why bother with who is the greatest, the purest, the holiest? Its a childish way of measuring everything up against each other. Just reach the level and realization he talked about and see if you still have the need to think of such comparisons.

once i had a vision of who i am - conciseness. split in two and after it came back into one and after it became all and only the change is constant.
