I enjoy empowering characters (Marceline Abadeer from Adventure Time and Ben from Kipo are great examples) but Harper just feels unuanced. Being LGBTQ doesn't justify being a jerk. She has like zero saving graces. Millicent also feels pretty forced. Instead of being a jerk to Carly it would've been funny to see her treat her like a legend and an inspiration, which would better balance out her dismissive attitude towards Freddy.
thank you for making these videos, im now convinced that i shouldnt watch this show. the webshow was always interestng and i think not including it makes no sense and also from the scenes you showed this show really looks like "FREINDS" but with icarly characters. really starting to look like they should have just left thjis show aloone
the freddie and milicent talk at the wedding was my favorite moment out of these two episodes by far. it was refreshing to see that milicent actually show that she cared about freddie even though we knew that. And i loved freddie actually acted like a dad.
Completely agree. The first few episodes really shat on Freddie and Spencer. So I was really happy to see Freddie taking some authority as a parent. Let's just hope this continues.
I agree! I have been wanting Freddie to grow a back bone with Millicent and for her to treat him better and she finally showed she cared! It was sweet! It was also hilarious when she thought he proposed to that one girl 😂😂
I can't be the only one who noticed that Nevel changed a lot ? He is kind of acting like a "stereotypical gay" person (no insult, the acting is great !) Is it the actor who is like that ? Or is he just acting like that so it seems less creepy for the audience (since him and Carly are adults now).
@@Negrobarker But I read that the actor isn't gay, no sources have officially cited his sexuality as homosexual. I only thought that he might be acting like a "stereotypical gay person" so it would look *less creepy* for the audience. I mean, now he is an adult man and not a cute boy anymore so his obsession with Carly is more creepy and kind of terrifying.
I kind of wished that the show would've taken the direction of having Carly start her show and have no traction as if she's old news and having the main goal of growing her channel.
Ngl glad they didn't do the because even in the OG show the worst part about iCarly was the actual web show so im glad they're giving it the least amount of attention possible
@@khadizaahmed8989 I agree definitely that the segments in the original were pretty unfunny, but now in modern day as adults, it would make more sense for them to have tried to make iCarly the show into something else more realistic for today, like a live stream or vlog or something to real life youtubers. If they don't focus on at least her life being an internet celebrity or influencer of modern day, or something, it doesn't make sense with the show's premise anymore.
Would be interesting and more realistic since its pretty rare for RUclips channels tp stay relevant after extended breaks. The only channel I know that has been able to pull it off is Boyinaband since he has a very strong cult following
6:08 Oh, i thought the fact that they used obvious green screens was supposed to be for comedic purpose, or something like that. But yeah, the café(?) place looked really odd to me and i couldn't point the finger on it. It just didn't look realistic
@@lukesage8452 That's what my thought was and would explain why some things felt rushed. They could have started filming just as lockdowns were starting to become a reality and were trying to film as many scenes on location as possible before that happened.
I believe a second season will definitely be great, if it happens. This reboot is trying to find its footing and they are doing pretty well so far. I believe too many people are coming into this with way too many expectations and that’s just one of the the underlying themes of the show. Nothing truly ever goes the way we expected.
I think people just miss Sam and are just wanting to hate on the show. Or maybe it’s as others said and people are just watching clips online from their favorite people who didn’t like the show so they’re gonna say the same. Just came from a Jayniac video.
@@FullmoonPhantom-dn2sr People just want to hate for some odd reason. I mean iCarly doesn’t even have a toxic community. I guess they’re just the toxic fans who want everything to play out like a typical CW show. This reboot feels organic and actually feels like we’re watching regular adults
People continue to forget that as a child they weren't popular when iCarly happened. Now as an adult, they don't need to work as frequently on iCarly as back then to get their name out. They were kids and creative. Now as adults they're in a new time struggling to do a show for an older audience but also keeping the elements of the first.
I don’t think he loves Prunella. I think he was just taken aback that anyone would love him and he wants to try being with Prunella. I think that would be good for him too so he’s not chasing someone who doesn’t love him. Of course he also has to marry a person for the inheritance. Plus him and Prunella are already good friends.
I don't know if I'm the only one but I feel like Freddie has been the most entertaining character of the reboot thus far. His jokes feel so natural and his moments with his daughter are very heart warming. I also find it funny how Carly makes a remark about Nevel's fiance being too perfect but that's literally Harper. Even when she had that conflict with Carly in the fourth episode she looked pretty unfazed to me. I hope she gets some scenarios that take her out of her comfort zone and forces her to act more differently than she usually does. Lastly, the show seems to be heading in a Carly x Freddie route and I honestly have no problem with that as they both have matured and had different experiences since the original show ended. Carly starting to see Freddie in a different light wouldn't feel unnatural at least to me. I just hope it doesn't become some over dramatic plot that changes their friendship for the worse.
Freddie is my favorite character too, I also think Nathan is the best actor out of the main cast tbh. A spin-off with just him and Spencer would’ve probably fit this tone a little better. He’s got the best reactions and facial expressions which at this point is one of the only things connecting this show with the original besides it’s direct references to the original. You can tell his character kind of stuck with him since the original series ended.
@@OnlyBrodie._ Don't even get me started on his reactions! I was laughing so hard when he was pouring milk while Carly was having a break up in the same room. "This is goat milk!"
The show definitely needs to put more attention on the actual iCarly show. I feel like the writers don’t know what to have Carly do with her channel or whatever you wanna call it. She was basically a comedian, and so far she doesn’t seem to come off any different than Miranda’s real life social media with Instagram stories etc. idk it just feels like the writers don’t know what iCarly should be, especially without Sam. That’s kinda what made iCarly relevant in the first place, and so far it just feels like we’re seeing our characters just deal with dating.
@@sirmel11 But that’s the point isn’t it? In order for the original show to use the web show to jump off into other subjects the show had to play a big role in the early seasons. Since the premise of the reboot is that Carly is relaunching iCarly, the show needs more episodes exploring that idea before focusing on other subjects.
They’re only focusing on dating because the writers don’t know what else to do with adult characters from what was originally a kids show. This reboot probably shouldn’t even have happened. I just feel like it’s not as good of a premise with adults instead of being set in high school
hollywood doesnt know how to creaate a webshow because they dont know who to reference. i honestly think hollywood would just make the webshow woke and it would be horrible. honestly they could make icarlies webshow like mr beasts or pewdiep pies channel, but unless thye blatantly copied his videos i dont think they are creative enough to come up wiht there own ideas.
I expected it to be so-so but ended up totally loving it and waiting for every next episode. Had some great laughs. I will even go as far as saying that I like watching the new version much more than rewatching the original series (as an adult).
The clips I've seen of the show have been enough to make me consider subbing to Paramount+. I'm genuinely really happy about how the show is coming along so far
I think the Prunella thing makes sense cause Nevels feelings for carly were never real to begin with. to be fair however there could have been some scenes of them planning this together or their connection before this. Nevel getting a gamer waifu to come and pretend to marry him and do all this scheming to get carly only to find out the real carly was the friend he made along the way is pretty great but we never got those scenes.
I like that it’s not about the web show. I always felt like the show in the original, although fun, never offered too much in terms of character exploration & plot growth. My favourite episodes are ones that don’t feature the web show as a central component, but instead focus more on the characters themselves.
@@ashantiedits But I mean that's kinda the point right. Some characters just do bad things. Not everyone has to have a redemption arc or something. Just my take on it though
Millicent is really great when with Freddy. There’s just so much we don’t know about their relationship and why she sticks around him. She’s an interesting kid who I think has a lot of hidden depth.
I think the fake looking sets are supposed to give an endearing cheesy/campy vibe. I'm really liking Harper and with episode 4 she cemented herself as my favorite character! I don't even care that the web show isn't the focus, Im loving these characters even more than I did back in the day! My fav episode is 4 because I just adore Harper and Carly's friendship❤️🖤 Also, I think Nevel's plan was a little dumb but his reaction was fine. He claims to be in love with Carly but it was only ever obsession. Prunella, on the other hand is a very good friend of his and hearing that she loved him may have made him realize that what he wants in a partner is someone who loves him that he can truly love in return. It happened kinda fast, but that's the charm of the iCarly brand lol
I’m still waiting for the “pee on Carl” moment for this show. I feel like this could of been it. I still thouroughly enjoyed the episodes! I feel like the writers are not sure how to end each episode. I personally think if the show wants to get away from the web show, each episode should end with a scene from ICarly, kind of like how Seinfeld ended with Jerry doing standup
I completely agree with the episodes feeling rushed and ending very abruptly. I don't get why they just don't make them whatever length they want given that they're airing on an app instead of cable. I definitely liked the nevel episode more and thought it was very funny and really loved that ending with Carly and Freddie dancing just like in the old show. I also noticed the lack of actual iCarly? And like I don't completely understand what her new webshow is supposed to be since they've spent almost no time on it? I hope they focus on that one episode and getting Freddie his gear and actually setting the studio up to look like iCarly. I'm still really missing Gibby in this show, really hope they can get him back because I just think he would fit in perfectly.
Lol I will just start my free trial when this season wraps up then so I can watch it in a week and cancel. In the meantime it’s fun to see if it’s worth it through Jordan’s reviews!
@@choicethetaurus problem is, it's not available in the UK and even with a VPN, I need a US-registered credit card or PayPal account to actually get that in the first place!
I just hope Carly doesn't become a Tori Vega; you know, trying to one-up everyone else, nothing special about her, everyone around her growing while she remains stagnant...
When the director of Victorious created Tori and casted Victoria Justice, he really should have known that she would be bullied for this role. Giving Victoria Justice, a very good actress (who only sings as a hobby) a role as a Mary Sue who is supposed to be the most talented and greatesg singer of them all while portraying Broadway singer like Elizabeth Gillies (Jade) and Arina Granda (Cat) as "less-talented" side characters. That was just a really stupid idea of the director.
She wasn’t an interesting character to begin with even on the original show, at least not to me. She’s already like a Tori Vega and a Zoey in that sense; main character yet the least interesting one.
@@Harry-om5lm I know but back then Victoria was only 17 and had less experience with singing than the others (some of them were Broadway singers) They always gave Tori all the solos, while an extremely talented and underrated singer like Andrew didn't get one song where he just sings alone ? What was the director thinking ?? Of course people would compare Tori to the other characters, who sing much better, but barely get any moments to shine. But the actress of Tori really didn't deserved the hate and I can understand why she might became jealous in the past because everyone always have to compare her with the other singers.
the show never dissapoints imo. The nostalgic hits on past seasons, the new characters were well written, and the iCarly gang kept up with the times with the new internet age as well as navigate life in their late 20's.
That's kinda the thing with laugh tracks, most people don't notice because usually it does it's job in "enhancing" the experience; psychologically it can make an audience think the show is funnier than it is, because laughter is contagious
@@CaptainJZH yeah. Sometimes in reality when a person says something that's funny to them, then another person laughs, it's that person's reaction that makes it funnier that it actually is
Carly and Freddie’s convo at the end of the nevel episode felt like the writers were talking to specifically me. Shit hit deeper than I want to admit but I was just like damn maybe you right. First time I felt that way watching a show in a while
@@connerbok9978 but how old is Spencer canonically? I get that his actor is like, 40 something. But how old is he in universe? And I mean, my mom is 15 years older than my stepdad and they have been together 15 years. As long as neither are minors when they meet I think it’s fine.
Definitely it feels like this entire series has been built with that end game in mind it’s following all the tropes of moving two people together. Both in slight luls in there life, showing both of them having pretty bad dates. It’s all lining up.
They could have atleast sprinkle some lines to Carly being an influencer in these 2 episodes or have her vlog a little bit or have the cold open be her doing Icarly.
I'm not gonna fault them for the green screen, I think it's due to Covid regulations that it costs more money to shoot in locations. A swab test every week for each staff really stacks up
I love the idea of them using Spencer as a Frank Reynolds type of character in a sense of he has so much vaguely described wealth that it allows the cast to do almost anything and have it be explained. Spencer could keep throwing money out in different episodes to allow the cast to be in wild yet still believable situations.
I’ve been really enjoying the new series so far it’s been enjoyable. It’s weird to me how strict they appear to be on the 24 - 26 minute time limit this series is streaming only I don’t understand why if it felt like it needed more time they didn’t just give it more time. I feel the exact same about the HORRIBLE intro edit that I notice EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. WHY?! Why did they do that? There’s a skip into button it doesn’t matter if the intro is minute long
@@starhearth I don’t think that’s the case because you can still here him clearly in the end and the full version is on RUclips and in the first episode of the reboot. Also the part that they cut has less Drake Bell then the bits left in. So this theory doesn’t hold water at all. They did it to save time. They didn’t need to save.
@@dorine4175 no they didn’t, the full version is on RUclips it’s a minute long and doesn’t have the awkward cut in the song. It was also in the first episode of the revival. It’s just some extra scenes and transitions.
@Nevouti J no it isn’t because the first 3 episodes released at the same time? There wouldn’t be any episodes with the full version of the song if that was the case. Like I said already it’s on RUclips on the paramount RUclips channel AND the part they cut has less Drake Bell then the rest of the song. The original comment was a stretch.
I love how you don’t forget any of the small story lines in each episode and you make sure to bring them all up. These reviews are so comprehensive and stellar. Nice work

PLEASE KEEP THIS UP. I want to check this show out but I don't have time or the money for Paramount + so seeing your take on it is the next best thing. KEEP IT UP! XD
iCarly (2021) shouldn't have been named "iCarly", it just seems that the show is just going to be about Carly & Friend's lives, and not that much about the webshow. iCarly (2007) however, was about keeping up with their ever growing webshow whilst also dealing with other problems with growing up/life in general.
I'm loving this show so much! As someone that watched the original as a kid, i really like that they know that the people that watched iCarly back in the day are now adults and are both respecting the original and making it a bit more mature at the same time and it's awesome.
At the biggening I really didn't like milicent, but know she is growing on me, on the other hand harper is getting more abnoxious with each episode, and Carly seems directionless I hope they solve these problems.
I'm the opposite! At first I thought Milicent would be an interesting addition and counterpoint to the gang, and I thought Harper was kind of shoehorned in, but she has the best lines now. Milicent is kind of insufferable imo...
@@jaimeerindy4573 I agree it like they are forcing Millicent just to be the annoying character to carly and the gang. While, harper is actually a good stand in for sam and actually brings something to the table by being friends with carly.
@@misty9964 100% agree. It feels like the writers really just put this character for representation alone. But I definitely don’t blame the actor, the writing is just not doing her any favors
I am actually loving this revival so far. Episode 5 is definitely my favourite. It’s off the wall, which is iCarly in a nutshell, but contains some wonderfully sweet scenes; Freddie & Millicent, Carly & Freddie etc
as a laugh track hater I hadn't noticed the laugh tracks on the show until you mentioned it in this video. while it's not the old iCarly I appreciate what they're doing and love this opportunity to see these characters again. iCarly was the first series finale I ever saw as a kid and it coming back at the age I am now somehow made me fully understand that life does go on even after something ends if that makes sense? anyway, I'm loving your videos on this!
"In the original they show how carly and sam first met" *sam shoves carly off bench* HAHAHAHA years later, and even without the clips sound, this just freakin kills me!! 😂😂😂
A few things I wish the show did/will do: - Had longer episodes, which would have allowed the show to explore the plots they set up in depth: Carly actually being at the rest of the red carpet event and interacting with Beau. - They waited before Carly restarted the iCarly channel. Since it has barely featured at all and has no relevance to the plot yet, I wish that they could have had plots that eventually build up to Carly making the decision to restart the channel. - Less episodes about Carly and dating. So many of the plots have been about Carly trying to either make Beau jealous or make herself happy by getting a new bf. It would be more interesting to see episodes about Carly adapting to the changes that 'webshows' have undergone. Like Carly could have new struggles of getting her old audience back, Freddie could feel redundant as he doesn't need to do any tech set up anymore and tries to find new ways to be useful (have him make AR filters for the show, try and be a comedic presence etc.) - A toning down of the woke elements. This specifically applies to Harper. They need to make her more than just the pansexual sassy black best friend. The designer element can be explored more, show her other likes or dislikes. Rather than just the repetitive joke of "I'll sleep with anyone, urgh straight people annoy me."
Is it only me or would have this show been better if it was a single cam show with a no laugh track? Cos I think they rely on the laugh track too much and I think we would have gotten better shots and angles from the show with a single camera
Honestly, that would feel way too different from the original? Like, that's a VERY different kind of show, like think the difference between Zoey 101 and the other Schneider shows. It might be better, but would it be iCarly?
I’m gonna say this in every iCarly video I watch. Spencer is the best father figure in his era of comedy. I’m not gonna elaborate here, it’s been said in other places. Just that we stan Spencer Shay in this house
I don’t like how all of carly’s motivation so far has been to one up someone. restarts icarly to upstage her ex, meets up with her hater to prove she’s a better person than them, goes to the red carpet to prove to beau she’s better, goes to nevel’s wedding to prove she’s happy and not petty and then becomes fixated on proving its a hoax because she feels lonely... the only episode so far where she hasn’t been trying to one up or prove she’s above someone was iFauxpologize where she puts her success above Spencer’s which isn’t a one up but is just incredibly selfish of her. tb clear I don’t hate Carly or her character in any way I just think the writers haven’t found her yet and came up with one or two things for her that they’ve decided to keep reusing because they can’t think of anything else
@@Ellecastillos that could be true but I still don’t like her current motivations and if that is their plan I think it’s kinda messy to do that with an already well established character without showing what lead her to now act like this. I guess we could assume it was the break up but without knowing or seeing the relationship at all before the break up it’s hard to buy it as valid reasoning
Hi Greatness Jordan! Ah my goodness, even more hype that Mr.Moseby is the director lol. I am just thinking a lot of a Suite Life On Deck and iCarly crossover. I hope you have a Wonderful Happy Friday! :)
I really don’t want Carly and Freddie together she’s always been clear about how she didn’t like him like that .. I just feel like it’s forced really hope that doesn’t happen
Well u know in the finale of the original of icarly in their last scene together in the icarly room when they were saying goodbye it looked like carly did have something for freddie but she couldn't tell him there since she was leaving
Yeah I get what you mean. Sam & Freddie were the best even though they couldn’t get along at first. Until they did work things out. I know when you get older your mind can change about someone you did know when your were younger.
Idc whether they do or not but this belief some of yall have that people just stagnate and never change their minds about anything as they grow up is ridiculous. They're grown ass adults now who lived completely seperate lives for like 10 years. They're totally different people and if carly finds something in this new freddie she likes, she should be allowed to explore those feelings. The only way it would seem forced is if you're still viewing them as the 14 year old kids they once were instead of the almost 30 year old adults they are now.
@@NRG-REC where did I say that? You clearly do care a little too much . To me their relationship is better off as just friends .. it seems lazy for the plot to just be like oh yeah now Creddie is happening
Episode 5 really just confirms to me that adult Creddie is inevitable. Too many plot points and character bits are pushing it in that direction for it not to be the case.
It seems like every episode they gradually get more adult. I think it's about slowly showing the audience that this isn't a kids show anymore. I hope if this show gets picked up for a season 2 that the laugh track gets gutted or maybe they try to ago with a live audience kind of like The Big Bang Theory. Overall the show is pretty good a bit cringy at times but so was the original icarly (not saying that's a bad thing lol) . Although they do need to incorporate more of the webshow in the episodes maybe like the original where they episode starts as the webshow is ending.
Episode 5 from your recap yes that lesson is good. I’m 23, was close to going out with my crush & never been in a relationship. Now I’m thinking on working myself a little more before we can start going out. Right now I believe he wants to just be by himself too
As someone who doesn't know this show very well, I'm fascinated about the antics this Neville guy got up to in the old show for Carly to fully buy into someone being a robot because of him lol
Did you know the "laugh track" was recorded it in front of a live studio audience over seventy years ago the initial reason behind it's invention was to make the TV audience feel like they were hearing the voices of other people watching, like in a theater a person tends to laugh if they hear other people laughing at the same joke. But over time the reason behind it's use became more cynical as producers felt viewers were simply too stupid know when to laugh at a joke even if that joke isn't funny the writers force the humor of a gag by inserting the laugh track.
I like the robot wedding episode and the way Carly was so easily convinced of prunella being a robot, reminds me of the episode from the original series when she was so sure Bigfoot was real. It seemed very in character!
Dang so happy for you bro. Been a fan of you since you got jumped on the PE podcast over the last of us. Seriously tho I'm glad you're doing big things.
@@sofioboros9565 anti straightness, good lord thanks for providing me with laughing material. and lgbtq is not a "political-ish" joke. nonbinary people exist, and there is nothing wrong with referencing them. heterophobia is an absolute joke because straights are not oppressed. god you guys really crack me up
I'm kinda conflicted to even watch this show. I enjoyed it when I was younger but after checking out the first episode I just dont feel interested in it. It reminds me of when Ravens Home came out but I enjoyed that. I'd like to hear your thoughts on Thats so Raven and Ravens Home and in comparison to this.
I had that feeling after watching the first episode too. But. I'm here today after last night's episode (after probably 5 episodes overall) and surprisingly I honestly recommend it!:) We begin to get deeper into each character. The jokes are also developing because when it's directed at an older audience, these jokes are sometimes even better than the old ones!
I agree about some of the green screen issues and such and I also think the laugh track is a little over used, but idk. Still enjoying it and def enjoying your coverage of it !
One thing that really feels different from the original is that I feel its too 'present' like the original was always thinking ahead of how the future of web shows would look like but the reboot seems like its more focused on relating to us now. One thing I think that made Icarly special is that it focused on what web shows, influencers and content creators would be like in the future and the endless possibilities like fake beef, boxing matches, crazy fans, award shows, conventions e.tc. It definitely feels like the writers want to focus on the characters more than the channel itself but it would be cool to see them focus on the channel more. Also it feels kind of odd how Carly feels like a newer channel when she should be considered a legend, I would have loved to see her in a situation where her main obstacle was trying to get people back to watching Icarly after all those years. Also Freddie's equipment downgrade feels a bit odd because majority of creators invest in microphones, cameras, green screens, a bunch of lights, considering that they have done it in a long time and Spencer has the money it just felt weird. But its been the first 5 episodes which were a bit rough but hope it gets better from here.
Hey if you could please add captions to your video, it makes it open to a wider audience of people (: i have a really hard time understanding what is said without subtitles, some people won’t be able to watch your video at all without them ):
I thought episode 5 had a potential to have IR relationships for future episodes. And I think iCarly is like more focused on adult life. Like they'll do quality icarly webshows, but just not as frequently since they're..well, adults.
I'm happy the webshow isn't the main focus in these past two episodes. The webshow wasn't the reason why I watched the original and it's not the reason I'm watching now. I enjoy the characters and their gags, and the webshow back in the day was just one way to show that off. Now that internet content has become the new norm, it just feels so forced to watch Carly do "Instagram lives" or have her starting a new channel with her boyfriend being a big thing. They're playing against a fine line of the show being a parody of the internet and being an actual show in the first 3 episodes. I much more enjoy these last episodes for being an actual show.
Carly always has friends that are the opposite of her physically and mentally this fictional character is more accepting of others than most real people now a days iconic
I think Nevel didn't get proper closure because we've not seen the last of him. I mean, it would be odd for the most iconic antagonist of the original series to appear for one episode at the very beginning of the revival and never be seen again. Plus, I've seen that there is going to be an episode called iGet a Divorce, and a lot of people have been speculating it's going to be something between Carly and Freddie, or a Freddie backstory, etc. But I personally think it's going to take us back to Nevel and Prunella. Maybe Nevel marrying her for the inheritance, since Carly wouldn't, and then divorcing her? It would take us back to Nevel's evil ways while also using it to display a much more adult theme (divorce).
His schemes never evolved beyond age 11 and that’s honestly really funny. We all sorta assumed he’d grow up to be an unstoppable maniacal force... But he’s just a cartoon villain, not a dangerous supervillain
The only reason I don't see Creddie in episode 5 is more that episode 4 had that bit where Carly realized her type was stupid & hot. Which tracks with all of her crushes from the og series, plus the one where she was unable to relate to her smart boyfriend. Namely, Carly likes being the smart one, and Freddie is too smart - tho I'd love to be pleasantly surprised

But I read that the actor isn't gay, no sources have officially cited his sexuality as homosexual.
I only thought that he might be acting like a "stereotypical gay person" so it would look *less creepy* for the audience.

Ngl glad they didn't do the because even in the OG show the worst part about iCarly was the actual web show so im glad they're giving it the least amount of attention possible
I definitely went into it expecting it to be about how Carly is irrelevant and out of touch

SAME! I went into that episode thinking, "now they totally have to make a tapenade refrence in this epsiode...right??"
Right people are expecting soooo much. That’s definitely the underlying theme of the show. Nothing ever goes the way we seem to expect

@WD Vinco how? Do u mean the actor or the character
@WD Vinco ok yeah I can see why but he doesn't act gay

I am so pleasantly surprised that this revival show isn't trash.

As an adult, the web show parts are actually the most cringey parts.

I think the fake looking sets are supposed to give an endearing cheesy/campy vibe. I'm really liking Harper and with episode 4 she cemented herself as my favorite character! I don't even care that the web show isn't the focus, Im loving these characters even more than I did back in the day! My fav episode is 4 because I just adore Harper and Carly's friendship❤️🖤
Also, I think Nevel's plan was a little dumb but his reaction was fine.

@@konanxhidan3202 I think her singing is becoming less of a hobby now cause she’s releasing new songs
No Carly is more of a relatable person I feel Harper or Millicent is the Tori Vega of the show
She wasn’t an interesting character to begin with even on the original show, at least not to me. She’s already like a Tori Vega and a Zoey in that sense; main character yet the least interesting one.
@@Harry-om5lm
I know but back then Victoria was only 17 and had less experience with singing than the others (some of them were Broadway singers)
They always gave Tori all the solos, while an extremely talented and underrated singer like Andrew didn't get one song where he just sings alone ? What was the director thinking ??
Of course people would compare Tori to the other characters, who sing much better, but barely get any moments to shine.
But the actress of Tori really didn't deserved the hate and I can understand why she might became jealous in the past because everyone always have to compare her with the other singers.
the show never dissapoints imo. The nostalgic hits on past seasons, the new characters were well written, and the iCarly gang kept up with the times with the new internet age as well as navigate life in their late 20's.

iCarly (2021) shouldn't have been named "iCarly", it just seems that the show is just going to be about Carly & Friend's lives, and not that much about the webshow.
iCarly (2007) however, was about keeping up with their ever growing webshow whilst also dealing with other problems with growing up/life in general.

"In the original they show how carly and sam first met"
*sam shoves carly off bench*
HAHAHAHA years later, and even without the clips sound, this just freakin kills me!! 😂😂😂
A few things I wish the show did/will do:
- Had longer episodes, which would have allowed the show to explore the plots they set up in depth: Carly actually being at the rest of the red carpet event and interacting with Beau.
Like Carly could have new struggles of getting her old audience back, Freddie could feel redundant as he doesn't need to do any tech set up anymore and tries to find new ways to be useful (have him make AR filters for the show, try and be a comedic presence etc.)
- A toning down of the woke elements. This specifically applies to Harper. They need to make her more than just the pansexual sassy black best friend. The designer element can be explored more, show her other likes or dislikes. Rather than just the repetitive joke of "I'll sleep with anyone, urgh straight people annoy me."
go dm ig/send email to the icarly's team maybe they'll take a notice of these
Yes! Those are all fantastic points, especially the Harper one.
Is it only me or would have this show been better if it was a single cam show with a no laugh track? Cos I think they rely on the laugh track too much and I think we would have gotten better shots and angles from the show with a single camera
I’d say have a live audience at least. I prefer that over a laugh tracker

I’m 21 and the amount of people I graduated with that are pregnant and/or already had kids/getting married is staggering
Amazing video as always. Well done Jordan, love your appearances on the SpawnCast as well 🙌
Thanks so much! I appreciate the support! :D
Can’t wait for more videos!
Thanks so much!
@@JordanFringe94 I dig the icarly stuff. I feel like there’s a lot of room for these types of videos with the new and original series.
Didn't expect that message in episode five to be aimed directly at me... Thanks. 😂
I still think a lot of the jokes, specifically the referency political-ish ones, are very hit or miss, but when they hit they hit good.
can you describe which jokes you found "referency political-ish"?
@@sunflowersims any reference to nonbinary, the anti straight-ness..it was littered this episode with them..
@@sofioboros9565 anti straightness, good lord thanks for providing me with laughing material. and lgbtq is not a "political-ish" joke. nonbinary people exist, and there is nothing wrong with referencing them. heterophobia is an absolute joke because straights are not oppressed. god you guys really crack me up
@@sofioboros9565 how are gay people existing a political thing
@@sunflowersims You sure sound really cracked up.
Great video Jordan. Love your content. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much Dylan!
The first episode is easily the worst in the revival. It's not bad, but it's not as good as the others. Episode 2, 4, and 5 are all good.
Episode 5 is really good
I agree about some of the green screen issues and such and I also think the laugh track is a little over used, but idk. Still enjoying it and def enjoying your coverage of it !
Oh I'm with you on the laugh track. I can't stand hearing it. I like it pulls you out of what you're watching
I like the show so far, those twenty or so minutes go by so quickly and it always leaves me wanting more
Gotta admit, that wedding dress transformation was really cool.
Hey if you could please add captions to your video, it makes it open to a wider audience of people (: i have a really hard time understanding what is said without subtitles, some people won’t be able to watch your video at all without them ):
they should bring back chuck and chip and chip should have a mohawk and call himself hawk, a fun little easter egg
I thought episode 5 had a potential to have IR relationships for future episodes.
And I think iCarly is like more focused on adult life. Like they'll do quality icarly webshows, but just not as frequently since they're..well, adults.
Funny that a kids show makes more realistic situations than a “more mature show”
Each episode is getting better and better imo
To be fair the one scene with the fish was definitely used for comedic effect. Plus thank god Neville is back.
Episode 4, so far, might be my favorite. It was hilarious
It would take us back to Nevel's evil ways while also using it to display a much more adult theme (divorce).
about the whole nevel plot being nonsense,i think that was the point lol it was so ridiculous it was funny
