Love the choice of words to describe the car. Your review is respectable and non biased. I’m tired of reviewers picking a side and using childish adjectives like small, ugly and weird to describe the 2 series. Snug, cavernous are better ways to describe to imply a non biased review. Kudos !
BMW didn't push aside the 4 door coupe criticisms, it's the brand that created them. It's a great Mini, not great BMW. Luckily for BMW, this class isn't much once you get past the A Class. The real issue with this BMW/Mini, is that they went with a fwd platform for cost and interior space concerns, while the end product gets no more space really compared to the rwd platform.
The most important test for this thing is how easy it is to pry off the badge revealing that you bought the one with the smallest possible engine, and replace it with M badges.
I own the 218 it’s ok . It’s a good place to be decent cabin and tech and looks quite good in the metal . However there has to be a trade off and this is the driving experience. It’s quite bland and numb and not very engaging. Would say a focus or a golf is a far better drive . It’s style over substance with this .The 235 i is a different beast and really quite enjoyable with plenty of performance.
It's a beautiful car (if that's possible) It will be interesting to see how these sorts of cars sell after the Zombie virus. Money will be tight and I suspect the practical SUV's and twin cabs will take even a tighter strangle hold on the new car market. Good review as always 👍

I really like your clear, concise, and logical review style. Well done!
BMW should've made this a 1 Series so that the 2 Series could remain an all RWD lineup Good review
They already have fwd 2 series small vans in Europe
The 2 series Coupé is staying RWD. Only this front and all wheel drive transvestite MINI isn't rear wheel driven.
How about this, since it's about the same size as a E46 can BMW just remake the E46, call it a 2 series GC and everyone will be happy.

Surely after that review BMW owe you an all expenses paid trip to their next motor show.

You worry too much about other people's judgement
@@alizcool1 these cheap s#itboxes are all about image and the perception you have a car as good as a real BMW. Which this MINI isn't.
what watch are u wearing sir?
Looks like a substitute for the now too big and staid 3 series.

I looked at the thumbnail and thought it was a Ford Focus review. Was really surprised when this came
Look closely - it's a KIA Cerato
does it peel the front wheels
Great review! Love the M235i

Nothing beautiful about this or the new BMW design
Looks like a Hyundai from the front. BMW design has gone for a toss
And the new Kia Cerato hatch at the back
Hi guys where was this video shot?
Ankit Doshi Looks to be near West Head NSW Up at terry hills .
Wish it was rear drive manual
i think of like it.
your steering wheel is on the wrong side!!!
Drove a 218i.....steering felt awful ....like steering a boat.
it looks a Corolla Sedan from the back 😟
With similar power outputs, but better torque delivery via the turbo at lower rpm.
Looks like an opal... unfortunatly in this day bmw is making a more reliable vehicle then merc...... id still prefer amazda 3 tho
That backseat endeavour was a bit like trying to get toothpaste back inside the tube
Im not feeling the serious performance love
BMW has lost the plot finally. Toyota z4 ..n now a BMW Certo.. I can't see anything coupe
Looking forward to BMW's fixed-roof convertible.
It's dead
Coupes with back doors are coupe...
The design is so ugly, you take away the luxury badges on cars these days and people will start to agree they are ugly
Nice car 🚘
Kia
Take it easy old man or you might flex your right ankle right off your leg
how rude
eww the way he says coupe
Id rather spend similar money on a kia sportage
This car looks like an asian designed car which is a fail for a BMW.
The big grilles are thanks to China! Even the M2 Competition had its world preview there!
N
really hate the way this car looks, BMW design language isn't what it was sadly.
those rear doors are comically small, like a clown car
I can see allot of women buying this
Just came to give this car the thumbs down. Tarted up MINI that does not advance the segment in any way. Fake BMW for the clueless chasers of status.
I personally think small and luxurious should NOT be used in the same sentence. We'll let the sales figures speak for themselves in 1 years time.
BMW is not BMW anymore
