- This is an epic scene. It is presumed that Kate, Jack and Gavin had this staged to get info off Navarro! Kate Morgan is angry that Navarro is responsible for her husbands death and interrogates him for answers. Jack soon enters after Kate. Kate finally finishes the scene with a memorable quote: ''You are going to be executed for murder and for treason, and I am going to be there to watch!''

I love just how completely screwed Navarro realizes he is when he discovers Jack and Kate tricked him. His life as he knows it is completely over and they got it out of him without having to torture him again. Very satisfying.
Yeah, that was a super cool dupe. It tricked me when I first saw it. I thought Kate was gonna shoot him. I did not see the trick. So fine.
The fact that they didn't do the 24 spinoff with Kate was a colossal mistake

Yvonne Strahovski is mega badass in this scene. Her portrayal of Kate Morgan was stellar: a character every inch the equal of Jack Bauer.
Jack Bauer has no equal, no one is better at what he does, but Kate is pretty good. She's smart and tough.
She's the closest they've come to a female Jack Bauer... and in every way possible. She just lacks the experience.
She was so much better on Chuck.

agreed. It could have worked with Kate at least for a few seasons. Then, if ratings are dropping after a few seasons without Bauer maybe convince Sutherland to come back for 1 or 2 episodes at the end of a day where the plot is rescuing Jack from Russia.

She didn't even have to act or pretend, all she was telling him was undoubtedly what she was thinking and feeling, this is why he bought it and talked.
This ruse was definitely Kate's idea. This season really demonstrated that psychological torture is more effective than physical one. Playing on suspects fears into confessing is very smart. At the end of this scene, Jack was positively surprised that this worked 👍 He's really reconsidering his methods.
Definitely think it was Jack's idea.
Physical torture works on the untrained grunt level baddies. But those tough special forces trained baddies resist physical torture as part of their training. To get the information of out them fast, they need to use psychological tricks or hold their loved ones hostage. These tough guys are not afraid of dying or suffer physical torture, but can't stand their loved ones undergo the same ordeal.
I actually liked Kate's character.

Best good cop/bad cop scene ever.
I just finished binging this show for the first time. Of all the females they've had, Kate is the most like Jack. If they ever pick this up again, they need to bring her in for it. Jack won't even try to escape Russia because he knows it would put Chloe at risk. He'll have to find a legit way out. Only way he'd escape, is if he faked his death in the process for the sake of protecting his loved ones.
Kate Morgan could be the one who organizes the rescue of Jack Bauer from Russia

Jack won't even try to escape Russia because he knows it would put Chloe at risk. He's more likely to find a legit way out. Either a release like they did with Cheng, or a blackmail plot like they did with Dana.
24 Legacy should've been a guilty Kate (Over failing to save Audrey and because Jack is imprisoned in Russia) going hardcore on field work for a season or two before Chloe contacts her for help getting Jack out of Russia. Tony would be there, Belcheck too. Hell, you could throw in some curveballs if you want. Mandy helped Jack in Deadline, maybe she'd show up for a bit. Josh idolizes his Uncle Jack and became a federal agent to protect his mom and America from guys like his dad. You could say the same for Season 5's Derek Huxley.
Instead they randomly brought in young Dr. Dre, when you already had Kate, the perfect non Jack Bauer main protagonist. What a waste.

Kate Morgan. Great actress playing her part. I lover her on "Chuck". Her and Bauer really burned up Steve Navarro. I agree with Jacob Graham comment. She should have played the lead role in 24 Legacy.

season 9 was so good, we needed 12 more episodes.
i only just clocked that cheng zi is the Chinese ambassador from rush hour.
I think the main reason Season 9 blew 6,7 and 8 out the water is because I think the writers were basically spent insofar as coming up with ideas that could sustain a 24 episode season. Twelve episodes was perfect. The writers didn't end up having to overextend themselves with dumb twists just to keep the story going.

Navarro could've predicted this was a play. Kate wasn't gonna risk a WMD going off for personal revenge. And he risked the death penalty anyway. He had every reason to call their bluff.

I disagree actually. Yes s6 was the shows artistic nadir - on my rewatch, last year I actually found two of the episodes pretty dull. S7 was a step up, I thought S8 was good in patches and S9 felt a bit rushed in places
