Oh, more treasures from you! Thank you so much for reacting to Zhou Shen again, and these two fantastic pieces. How can you not fall in love with someone with not only such talent, but such range, and such a story... I just want to hug him at the start... "It's ok, don't be afraid, people will love you"... he turned down the producer for two years, to come onto The Voice of China. He was just singing online, unseen, as KaBu, and I think was super afraid he'd be mocked and laughed at, with his high voice on tv in public. You can visibly see him relax when he gets some audience cheering. He didn't get far... turns out that they had already someone picked for the group, so he didn't "fit" with the group they had built up of "winners" to tour later. But the audience there and online LOVED him, and demanded more of him. I think for a long time he was still booked as an oddity. A "oh, look! Under his outfit disguise, it's a MAN!" I think really it was the OST from Big Fish that gave him a wider audience and credibility. Don't you just want to hug him, in that video of his first performance? It is interesting how he came out in an outfit that looks like what we changed into after school as kids... patch jeans and a tshirt. I think maybe he was steeling himself for failure, and was like "'I'm not going to dress up as a special occasion. I'm going to pretend that it doesn't matter". Such a treasure. Thank goodness he failed getting into Chinese university, and then again at studying dentistry in Ukrainian. If he had succeeded, he'd be humming under his breath while he drilled teeth. The Ulaanbataar song is wonderful. I just love how Zhou Shen explores different music and different sounds in different languages. The singers and musicians in Anda Union are incredible as well. Zhoushen was a Uni student when he sang Huanyan, also that was his first public stage. Before that, he only sang songs and uploaded them to social media in China, and his angelic voice had attracted some followers prior he’s getting famous. I can tell his singing skills are improving constantly these years, while his first stage was already amazing❤

Some singers when they sing, you enjoy it because it feels like they're telling their story through music. When Zhou Shen sings, your soul is moved/touched because it feels like he's singing your stories back to you - it's feels "personal".. I've a suggestion - we give you multiple translated song lyrics and you choose which song/s you would like to react to. That way you get to enjoy his vocals both from the music arrangements AND his interpretations of the lyrics using his voice.

The song recorded in 1979 was his first ever attemp crossing over into pop music by collaborating with a new female singer called Qi Yu (齊豫) who just emerged from Taiwan's college singing contest. I am here for Charlie and anything the Throga guys want to react to. Another great session with Charlie. It would be great if we could do a duet marathon with Charlie that way you can see other great Chinese singers. Charlie does a ton of duets as he is a treasure boy and everyone likes to sing with him. He is on various shows - variety shows like Running Man, as a vocal coach on new singer competitions, and various singing and entertainment shows. He puts out a ton of content so it's hard for reactors to keep up. Also, it would be fun to have a few clips of Charlie's eng sub interviews or from his annual Sing-a-thon on his birthday each year. I agree. I don't understand people who come to reaction videos by those who have expert knowledge, and then expect them not to stop the video to react, and not to talk. The whole point of me watching Throga videos is to hear what they have to say, to see how they react to the songs, his singing, teach us new things about what we are hearing. We can already listen to the original with no interruptions or talking as many times as we want. Why come to a reaction and then complain it's a reaction? Zhou Shen, uniquely him. Chance upon him accidentally in 2014 on a work trip to China. He appeared at the singing competition. Totally drawn and awed by him, and I started listening to his songs, and whenever he appeared in TV programs over the years. Despite against all odds in the earlier years, he remains the humble and well-mannered guy as he is today. He is a well deserving singer, and he should be heard beyond the shores.
Same here, I 'stumbled' upon him in 2016 after listening to his anime song 'BigFish'. And since then, I've been a fan. I adore his wonderful talent and his sweet personality. So blessed to be able to enjoy his beautiful vocals thx to YTube.

When Zhou Shen participated in "The Voice of China", he was questioned by the staff behind the scenes: "Does he really know how to sing with this kind of appearance?” After losing the competition, Zhou Shen was still signed by the company, but not much work was arranged for him. The first and only one CD was self-financed by a producer who heard Zhou Shen’s voice…….. Because he senses that Zhou Shen has great talent and potential. If you have time, please consider listening to "末日飞船", I think it's a very interesting song, a song about the universe!
If this song resonates with Johnny and Richard, wait until they listen to Listen with Tan Wei Wei, Heaven/Da Yu with Tengri, or his other traditional songs Painted Silk or What Love is from the Classic Songs Program. When Charlie sings What Love Is and also the Russian song - Cranes on the same program, I just want to cry.
There is something incredibly moving about that first performance - Mongolian traditional pieces tend towards the highly emotional! I'd suggest listening to Ayanga's performance of Grassland on Super Vocal! That first audition! You can see how nervous he was but how his confidence grew when instead of being mocked everyone loved his voice (at this point his voice was known but not what he looked like). We outside of China came very close to never hearing this beautiful voice and appreciating a wonderful young man! Love how much you love him!
Watching his audition back, the producer of VoC did him dirty but now we're grateful as Shen Shen triumphs now. But most Shengmis know his journey. I cried when I watched him singing "This Is Me" during his bday. At some point, he couldn't hold it anymore. Shen Shen can show his vulnerable side with Shengmi and I'm glad now he is on his own label. These years, Shen Shen didn't disappoint us. Zhou Shen's chanting (Mongolian long chant ) is Intangible Cultural Heritage (UNESCO). This song is very well interpreted and performed by Zhou Shen and Mongolian artists. I love Zhou Shen's crystal voice and graceful performance.

FYI, at the beginning of the song, the backing singers sounded like yodeling is called Humai（呼麦），which is an ancient way of singing from Inner Mongolia in China. This song was performed by Zhoushen and the female singer, Anda, both in Mandarin and Mongolian language. Absolutely epic❤
Someone uploaded ZhouShen's baby baby video a few days ago on BiliBili. He sang a cover song in two timbre when he was 16 at high school. All his school mates(fans) were cheering off the stage. One of ZhouShen's fans has forwarded the video to her YT channel.

One extra comment: Charlie and the female vocalist (I don't know her name but she appears to be part of the group called Anda Union) were both singing in two languages - Chinese Mandarin and Mongolian. I am here for Charlie and anything the Throga guys want to react to. Another great session with Charlie. It would be great if we could do a duet marathon with Charlie that way you can see other great Chinese singers. Charlie does a ton of duets as he is a treasure boy and everyone likes to sing with him. He is on various shows - variety shows like Running Man, as a vocal coach on new singer competitions, and various singing and entertainment shows. He puts out a ton of content so it's hard for reactors to keep up. Also, it would be fun to have a few clips of Charlie's eng sub interviews or from his annual Sing-a-thon on his birthday each year. That way you can see his personality shine. There is a North America Zhou Shen, International Zhou Shen, and a Hong Kong Zhou Shen fan clubs on RUclips that also have eng subs. Happy to see our new translator. I will hunt for him on Bilibili.

I agree. I don't understand people who come to reaction videos by those who have expert knowledge, and then expect them not to stop the video to react, and not to talk. The whole point of me watching Throga videos is to hear what they have to say, to see how they react to the songs, his singing, teach us new things about what we are hearing. We can already listen to the original with no interruptions or talking as many times as we want. Why come to a reaction and then complain it's a reaction?

Zhou Shen, uniquely him. Chance upon him accidentally in 2014 on a work trip to China. He appeared at the singing competition. Totally drawn and awed by him, and I started listening to his songs, and whenever he appeared in TV programs over the years. Despite against all odds in the earlier years, he remains the humble and well-mannered guy as he is today. He is a well deserving singer, and he should be heard beyond the shores.
Same here, I 'stumbled' upon him in 2016 after listening to his anime song 'BigFish'. And since then, I've been a fan. I adore his wonderful talent and his sweet personality. So blessed to be able to enjoy his beautiful vocals thx to YTube.

There is something incredibly moving about that first performance - Mongolian traditional pieces tend towards the highly emotional! I'd suggest listening to Ayanga's performance of Grassland on Super Vocal!
That first audition! You can see how nervous he was but how his confidence grew when instead of being mocked everyone loved his voice (at this point his voice was known but not what he looked like). We outside of China came very close to never hearing this beautiful voice and appreciating a wonderful young man!

Watching his audition back, the producer of VoC did him dirty but now we're grateful as Shen Shen triumphs now. But most Shengmis know his journey. I cried when I watched him singing "This Is Me" during his bday. At some point, he couldn't hold it anymore. Shen Shen can show his vulnerable side with Shengmi and I'm glad now he is on his own label. These years, Shen Shen didn't disappoint us. He is our treasure boy ❤

FYI, at the beginning of the song, the backing singers sounded like yodeling is called Humai（呼麦），which is an ancient way of singing from Inner Mongolia in China. This song was performed by Zhoushen and the female singer, Anda, both in Mandarin and Mongolian language. Absolutely epic❤

One extra comment: Charlie and the female vocalist (I don't know her name but she appears to be part of the group called Anda Union) were both singing in two languages - Chinese Mandarin and Mongolian. That'd be like someone singing in English and also in Swedish in the same song, where the two languages have different consonants and vows.
