My parents were soooo shook when they heard Lana’s cover… they were like damn okay I see why ur obsessed with her… & all these versions are literally winners in their own way, all sung by icons
@@foreign. She took an amazing song by LEGENDARY band, Sublime and absolutely destroyed it. Bradley Nowell would hate her cover. She turned it into indie pop and its physically nauseating
I couldn’t decide between Ella and Billie! Fr, their vocals had a huge influence on my own voice which doesn’t compare but still, that was a tough decision lol
I had no idea this song had such deep roots. That’s amazing. It’s the reason I love the “God Bless Tiny Tim” album. He did remakes of songs from the 19-teens. Absolutely wild to hear 60s remakes of World War One songs.
@@smilealwaysnatasha3423 I mean Lana's version gets more streams then all of the other versions combined.. Plus why do have to be rude about someone else's opinion, not everyone shares the same ideas or opinions?..
I'm going with the sublime and Billie Holiday version. Grew up listening to Sublime, it touches my soul with memories. And Billie Holiday is just fabulous.
Lana Del Rey: When you wanna hear some chill and smoky sounding pop. Sublime: When you just wanna party with your friends. Ella Fitzgerald: When you wanna hear nice, smooth, and elegant vocals Billie Holiday: When you wanna hear a sassy but vintage song. Abbie Mitchell: When you wanna go to a nice opera but you can't afford it
The legend ras mg did those drums! Such a great track. If you like the beat of doin time check out the studio version of sublimes warning sign. Same beat.
I heard Lana’s version playing in the lobby of my apartment building while picking up mail. After I got my mail I sat in the lobby just taking up the vibe that song gives off.
lana layered hers with her amazing vocals, sublimes captures that jamaïcain feel to it, ella fitzgerald has that classic feel, billies voice brings the warmth and the last one was definitely something
I love all of these, there's a couple of other opera singers who do the opera version incredibly well also. I wish there were more songs like this covered by such a wide variety of styles, it really scratches a certain kind of musical itch that I love.
I think every time captured the essence of that time. You can't judge whether everyone sings in a totally different way. But for my generation, I believe Lana's voice has captured the essence of summer better.
Wow this is an amazing compilation! Thank you for compiling them all into a quick clip! I grew up with sublime… I think it’ll always be my favorite version! But thanks to you, I’ll listen to every version in full and appreciate each one!
Lana’s version literally captures the “summertime” feeling. So I’m going with that one
Listen to the sublime one the sublime one captures it too
No it doesn’t

Sublime's version honestly is my favorite. Gives me nostalgia
I totally get that. I heard Santeria in like 2020 and it gave me nostalgia for the early 2000s. And yet I never even heard it when I was a kid! 😅
Oh yeah
Same
❤
Same, thats what I grew up on. I also like Billie Holidays version too❤
I like when it's the "she's evil yes I've come to tell you she's evil" version
it's literally in all of the songs
@@lala9407that’s not true lol it’s only on lana’s and sublime’s
@@lolo2151 exactly
Lol that’s the most popular line
Ella Fitzgerald
Lana's voice is ethereal
She was far far ahead of her time when she debuted
People are now recognising her and everyone is GAGGED..Period..
Billie Hollidays voice just makes me feel the summer warmth
That's my mum's favorite singer :)
I couldn’t decide between Ella and Billie! Fr, their vocals had a huge influence on my own voice which doesn’t compare but still, that was a tough decision lol
All of them sounds so GOOD plus so different genres like wow
Lana del rey, cause the vibes like a Villains
Ella's version is literal perfection✨️
❤
In my opinion that award goes to Sublime, but her version is definitely good in it's own right
ikr people sleeping on ella for sure
Absolute perfection
my ranking would be:
1. ella (classic)
2. lana
3. sublime
But all are rlly good imo!
I had no idea this song had such deep roots. That’s amazing. It’s the reason I love the “God Bless Tiny Tim” album. He did remakes of songs from the 19-teens. Absolutely wild to hear 60s remakes of World War One songs.
Bro same
So in love with Lana's version, so she wins it for me. Just perfection
It’s Ella and Billie for me. Their vocals are so rich and warm like a summer evening after the sun’s gone down. Definitely a summer evening tune
i think every version was unique. the artists/ musicians have put their own style, talent and the results are beautiful!
Ella Fitzgerald. Man that performance was legit a vocal masterclass. She really is the First Lady of song.
Ella by far has the smoothest and loveliest voice with this.
Defo Lana, her voice just suits this song so well. 🥰

Lana‘s version for when I‘m in a good mood and Ella‘s version when I‘m sad and want to feel comforted
My vote goes to Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong
The "easy" note is heaven
Each version has it's own twist in it
Except the original because well,,it’s the original lol
I really like 3 such a great voice!

3 but they all are fantastic.
each has it’s own unique flavor. but personal preference, i’ll go with Lana’s.
I've only ever heard Sublimes and it's still my favorite, although the others sound pretty good too.
Lana Del Rey: When you wanna hear some chill and smoky sounding pop.
Sublime: When you just wanna party with your friends.
Ella Fitzgerald: When you wanna hear nice, smooth, and elegant vocals
Billie Holiday: When you wanna hear a sassy but vintage song.

She made it sound so hypnotic.

Sublime. It has that overall vibe of summer
Absolutely the number 3! Ella Fitzgerald was (and is) the best voice in jazz
