GJ K the ratio of the companies who market towards darker complexions in comparison to those that cater to lighter or only light skin tones are very minuscule when you account for them all. The small scale of darker complexion only brands were ‘mostly’ created out of necessity bc other companies excluded them to begin with... I just wanted to add some context bc of the intensity of the way your response was conveyed.
I find that companies that lack inclusive shade ranges stick to the light-medium to medium-tan range. I’m super fair and it’s tough to find my shade period.
just as a note for people watching: dry down is when foundation dries slightly darker with the same undertone as it had when wet (think like how paint looks a little darker dry than wet) oxidization is when foundation dries to a different undertone (usually orange) I get really peeved when influencers use these terms interchangeably because they are two very different concepts. this foundation appears to dry down and not oxidize.

I know a lot of people still feels offended by the situation and they refuse to forgive the brand 🤷🏽♀️ I didn’t find my shade either and my thought was “oh well! Maybe next time”. Depends on each individual how you want to react to stuff like this, either you get extremely mad about it or you try to relax and make sure this doesn’t affect you.

People who said “it’s too late” are the same people who questions why Tarte still haven’t made any new shades. Now they did, they complaining STILL. Nothing makes them happy. They made a mistake but they listened. It’s not about how you start, it’s how you end. It’s all about growth.
I had to stop the video to say....I am.so glad you said you LIKED the Doe Foot on the other one. I watched SOOOOO many beauty people bash the Doe foot saying that it was gross to them because "it's putting dirty face particles into your foundation".....YET they loved the Doe foot on lipstick and concealer????? I mean its the EXACT same thing!!!!! So I was just glad to hear someone that liked it.

I just bought 29N too. I am loving this foundation so far and I just got it. It doesn’t transfer or come off. Its the perfect foundation. I like that it’s full coverage and its the perfect match.

The other review I watched, not naming names, she was very negative from the very start and never said one positive thing. There was a RUclipsr who made this video that all she did was nag, complain and b**ch about the foundation in general she didn't even do a wear test nor a description of how it applied she literally just applied it and complained about the brand 😒thank you so much for this
I am so happy to see that tarte listened to feedback and relaunched this product in 50 shades! It says a lot about the company that they acknowledge their mistake and made change. I absolutely don't believe it is "a little to late" like some have said. Change for the better is always welcome in my book

Once I run out of the acne foundation from Clinique I will have to try and get matched with this foundation. I was hoping that primer didn't smell like coconuts. I most likely would have an reaction to the primer. sensitive skin issues. The foundation looks so good. Girl you had no flaws to cover. I love the taupe concealer. At first I thought the concealer was drying until I realized it was my undereye skin that was dry. I started using under eye moisturizer I make myself. It literally a game changer.
I think the shade match was perfect for you. I’m so frustrated trying to find the right foundation, and I tend to stay away from matte foundations b/c I have dry skin. I wore it for like more than 5 hrs with no primer and I have combo skin. I also did not set it with powder, and I rlly like it. My natural oils came through but still looked flawless. So if you’re debating on this. I say get it:)

When you were reading off the undertones, I was a little confused because to me "beige" "honey" "sand" and "golden" all sound like they could be interchanged for similar yellow-based or warm undertones? Other than neutral, it didn't sound like they are going to have many cool or pink undertone options but perhaps one of those labels does include that and it's just not obvious to me...

I'm in the light spectrum and the shades are nice, I didn't even buy the lightest one which is great for even more fair skinned people than me. I think it’s sad you’re not allowed to have an opinion because you’re not “included in the original problem.” I think this is what’s wrong. We’re casting ourselves out and we’re putting ourselves in all these categories. That’s not working together to solve problems. There are many different tones and undertones. Just because I may have a shade doesn’t mean I can always find a right match to my undertone. Everyone is affected by something. We’re never going to truly have the unity needed if we keep going this way. We need to work together.
2 yrs later, but this still holds. I have SUCH a hard time finding the right foundation. I often can't find a match. What makes it even harder for me is A im a layperson and quite frankly find it difficult to even see undertones and B I have dermatillomania, so my skin is all kinds of shades/textures. But yeah. This mentality... it's honestly gross. And oftentimes you are told that and little do people know that yeah. You actually had the same problem just on the other end of the spectrum; see racism for example. I've literally been told that there's no way I could ever know. And this was after I made a comment about what happened to me as a child. I was harassed so much by the other kids and teachers that I was so ashamed to be white, I would wear a windbreaker to PE in 110°+ heat. I was even put on antidepresdants at the age of 12 because I was severely depressed/suicidal because of it. So for someone to ASSUME THINGS BECAUSE OF YOUR SKINCOLOR and then bitch about exactly that... this world is fucking ridiculous. Imo, the people that are bitching the most about racism are the ones keeping it alive. This is my experience with the matter. I know that maybe went a bit off tangent, but it needs to be said.

Honestly though it was so much easier for Tarte to just ignore consumers and continue to sell the original foundation. But they are pulling the old product and are presenting something brand new with a better shade range that is massive and inclusive. It looks promising and I’m looking forward to trying it out!

I have combo dry skin and I LOVE this foundation. I use Tarte Maracuja oil under it and it gives a flawless finish.

Beige is the pinky toned one. It’s in the card she was holding with the shade explanation. I googled it. Lol.

There is multiple undertones for all shades.
Some foundations just dry darker doesn’t mean they oxidise. Same as anything else that goes from wet to dry.
