This interview has so much Gilmore energy. I kind of feel like she did this still in character. In my head, I'm just imagining a storyline where Lorelei would be on Conans Show and this is exactly how it would look like. He can barely keep up with her pace.

Lorelai never laughs at her own jokes though, which is a pretty big difference. Lauren is also much more fidgety and nervous than Lorelai would ever be.

@@reneeg4817 Yeah there are similarities but I definitely don't think "this is exactly what Lorelai would be like on a talk show". That undermines how much effort Lauren put into portraying Lorelai as the demeanor and mannerisms are different. Lorelai is much more sarcastic too.

To be fair they shoot the episode and move on to the next. They don't sit and binge their own shows and know everything they've done by heart. I can totally understand why she doesn't remember everything she said on a show she was on over 20 years ago.

i still remember when lauren said in gilmore girls “oy with a poodles already” in season 2 i think it was. she’s like “oy is a funny word, not a lot of people say oy. poodles is also another funny word. in fact it could even be a new saying, OY WITH THE POODLES ALREADY” and i remember emily (lorelies mom) in the back saying “lorelei stop”😂
I love her so much, like she's such a naturally talented, comfortable, funny, sweet person to see, she's just amazing. And i swear the character of Lorelai fits her personality perfectly, like it was written for Lauren!

My hair stylist and I watch it over and over and daily (not with each other 😂.) Any questions, she can just ask us! 😁❤️ (monkey lamp was a tacky lamp Lorelai exchanged for crystal candle holders Emily got her. Emily was trying to find them when Lorelai hurt her back making Rory’s dress & demanded to stay and take care of her…anyway) Lorelai was saying during drinks before Friday night dinner that Oy was a funny word. And so is poodle(s) If you put them in a sentence together, you’d have a funny catch phrase like when you’re fed up…”Oy with the poodles already.” 🤓
Oy with the poodles is a saying in one of the episodes. Lorelai decides that "oy" and "poodles" are the two funniest words in the English language at one of the Friday night dinners, and when Lorelai and Rory experience frustration with the grandparents/parents, Rory says "Oy with the poodles already." So that's how that came about lol

GG was one of those afternoon shows I happened to catch on E4 in the UK about 10 + years ago, it was played weekdays so entire seasons were over within weeks.
I caught it midway through season 3 or 4 from memory.

Just started binge watching Gilmore girls. We had lots of little kids in the 2000s and didn’t watch much tv. 8 knew about it and had seen some episodes so knew the premise. She’s delightful. It’s delightful. I love it and wish I could live in their little world of Stars hollow. Lauren Graham was great in parenthood too. More serious role. I watched every episode. They don’t make tv like that anymore!
I wish I could live in it too how awesome would it be. I named my daughter Lorelai after her, I hope me and my daughter will be kinda like them. She is 6 now☺️

I have a confession to make, I am heartbroken.
There are tons of reasons why, and that roots to how I randomly watched a tv show on Netflix - Yeah you're right, the 'Gilmore Girls'. My initial feedback was that the show is really good to the point where I have been too emotionally invested and decided to go with my delusions. I'm a Gen Z & the show healed something within me as an old soul, making me wonder what it would be like to live in 'Stars Hollow' in that setting; Having a supportive mom, neighbors/friends around me. To cut the story short, because I'm too fond of the show I tried my best not to spoil about the present 'Age' or happenings about the Actors/Actresses who played the characters, since I was not familiar with all of them & it was a show from 20 years ago, & I feel that it might break my heart If I found out that some of the actors may have died already (Especially the lead actors). So I decided to just watch it without any spoilers nor googling the actors or the show itself for me to simply enjoy the show. The most painful part is that I don't want to spoil myself either on whether how many 'Season' it has so I just watched it blindly for the thrill.
Apparently that's the reason why I am now heartbroken. It hit me earlier, 'cause I didn't know that the episode I am watching was really the last one. One minute I was happy about the 'Bon Voyage/Good bye' episode, like yehey Luke is preparing something for Rory, then later on it made me think that It really was the last one...like 'Good byeeee' as I looked into the screen with "NO NEXT EPISODE BUTTON" in it. Like Whaaaat?Noooo
Honestly, I want more. I want to stay delusionally being involved in that town, but reality sucks. This show will always have that really...really special place in my heart.
Thanks Lorelai, you might just be some fictional character in a show but man, I really hope you were real & I still want some more of your wisdom. The solution to this might be rewatching the show, but it will never be the same again. Now I'm here finally spoiling myself with all the actors, just found out that Grandpa was no longer here with us. Also, I already expected that they were all 'Old'. Why did I just watched this show now, wish I wasn't born too late.

I read that the scripts were like 80 pages, twice the length of a normal show. I’m sure memorizing her lines was the equivalent of all the finals cramming I did in college, the second the test was over 100% of the knowledge completely gone lol

I decided to binge The Gilmore girls over Christmas. I started December 23. I figured it would take a week between xmas and New Years. WRONG! It took almost all of January. I missed work and social events ect. It became work.

Lauren Graham revealed the cast didn't know they were shooting the last Gilmore Girls episode when it happened. In fact, they weren't told there wouldn't be a Season 8 until the show had already wrapped.
Graham went on to say that when they shot the final scenes for Gilmore Girls, they all fully expected to be back at it for the next season. "We shot the last episode and we had no idea," she said. "It's better to be able to say goodbye."
2) Graham in this clip: "At the last episode, the producer said to me 'well you know it's the end so you probably want the monkey lamp".
I LOVED her portrayal of Lorelei. I still watch the show every few years -- it's like a comfy blanket in a world that has gone mad. But reading many of these comments as if she is some kind of hero, it reminded me she wasn't exactly truthful. She also changed her tune when the show had a chance to come back on Netlfix -- suddenly she loved it again, said she didn't realize how important it was to people until year later etc etc.
Anyway, the show was brilliant, the town, the characters, the casting ... and especially Graham's chemistry with everyone from Rory to Luke to her mother to Souki.
Gosh, I love her! Sad she can’t remember Gilmore though. I remembered half the lines haha
