Used your advice and was able to get the Prime of my dreams last weekend! Thanks! Live in Salt Lake City and able to find a discount flight to Orange county and purchased at Tustin Toyota at MSRP.
Awesome. Congrats. Glad this video is still helping folks.
Thank you, 🙏 this video put me on the right path to finding my Rav 4 prime! I subscribed. Your video was so clear and succinct.
Good luck.. very tough right now!!
Congratulations!! I had checked around all the states and just did not have any luck in getting a msrp price. I was quoted anywhere from 5K to 20K over list. After almost giving up I contacted my local Toyota dealer again and found out that one was coming in. It was the XLE with all the things and color that I wanted! I paid list price plus an additional 700 for mats, tinted windows and engine oil enhancer. I know that was extra but it was the best deal available for me and I was thrilled to get it. My dealer had my number but never called me so any potential buyers must be persistent!
I would add to all buyers to check your state to see if they have any incentives. In Texas I was able to receive an additional 2500 along with the federal incentives.
Great job. Persistence is really key. I was looking for a RAV4 Prime for a friend.. and spent like 3 days emailing dealers. Again Connecticut came thru. Then my friend backed up. From what I understand, there are a lot of RAV4 Prime's coming.. so don't give up !!
Hello Darryl, I started reading up on Rav 4s last year. About 8 months ago didn't know what trim, color I wanted or the price ranges of the various trims, so i started studying up on them. Eventually, the Primes with premium packages got my attention. I then started using your spreadsheets. Long story short, the spreadsheets made locating Primes very easy across the country. It also identifies dealers that sell for MSRP. Man, thanks for that spreadsheet! Turned out, I found one about an hour's drive from my home. Took delivery of it this week for the price, trim and color I wanted. Again, thanks!
Hey Gerald. Thanks so much bud. Congtrats on the new Prime. So glad I could help. You're gonna love it !!
@@GoldenK9Campers btw...Forgot to mention this earlier...Paid MSRP + $1,000 (Dealer mark up) for mine.
@@geraldjohnson7937 Not terrible. Such a great car.
After this video, folks from all over the country began reaching out to me, QUINCY SMITH at A-1 Toyota in New Haven, Connecticut, to acquire a Rav4 Prime. I took many deposits and refunded some along the way. FIRST ONE ROLLING OUT TODAY from this channel. She made her deposit with me in April. She hung in there and now is having it shipped to Texas. I have another viewer of this channel receiving their Rav4 Prime this week too residing in California. Along with 3 others that came in for my local Connecticut customers. Thank you again Darrell for the exposure. If you are willing to wait, Quincy will eventually get you ddriving a new Rav4 Prime.
Hey Quincy!! Great to hear from you. I'm in the process of updating the video to include information about the Inflation Reduction Act and it's impact on Prime's as well as and updated spreadsheet and some other information. Let me know if you still want yourself and A1 Highlighted in the video!!
Please. Fell free.
Feel free. Lol
@@GoldenK9Campers I would love to see an updated video! About to start my researching of dealers...
@@ericallnight The updated video came out yesterday.
Great job! Thanks for the hints and the list.
Thanks so much. Truly hope it helps. I've seen lots of folks get there's recently on the RAV4 Prime facebook group. So hopefully allocations and production is picking up!
As a Toyota dealer this is the correct info and well explained. Also consider a back up order at another dealership most deposit are fully refundable and most dealerships just want to get you a car and understand if you find one before they can get one allocated
Wow.. thanks so much. I really appreciate hearing from a dealer. I got mine from A1 Toyota, and I know I have sent a lot of customers their way. If you have RAV4 Prime's coming, feel free to put your contact info out there. I'm sure folks would love it!
Thank you for the list. I am on the longo list at #600 and something. Was told minimum six month wait. Other places where the wait was shorter all included a markup of $5K to $10K
Someone else commented and said that Longo did away with their list? I would look back east.
I had already ordered my Prime but the list helped me see the dealership I chose gets a reasonable amount. I also just told them "get me a Prime in any color but blueprint and I'll take it". It's honestly how I feel, I want the drivetrain. An XSE Premium? awesome look at all the fun toys! A base SE? The dealer may end up having to give me money considering my trade in, so awesome again! I'd be happy either way.
That's awesome. I really like the blueprint color.. it just get's dirty so easily. All the color's are really nice. The premium is awesome though. We always use the inverter when camping, and the digital rear view mirror is a game changer for me with our dogs in the back !!
Awesome video. Thank you for shouting out A1 Toyota in CT. Hopefully I can help some of your followers buy a Rav4 Prime also.
Thanks for the kind words. It would be great if you can help them out! Some are losing hope. Thanks so much for the comments!
@Quincy Smith, I’m looking to buy a RAV4 Prime SE. Do you have any of them available?
just sent a message via your web-site, would love to hear from you
Quincy: I am in Scottsdale, Arizona--could you help me with a RAV4 Prime? Wondering what the shipping cost would be to get it out here. Also, when this year does the Federal Income Tax Rebate of $7500 end for Toyota? Thanks!
Great video with good information. Thanks.

Thanks so much. Hope you're able to score one. We love our Rav4 Prime. We call him Brootus (custom plates and everything). We use him all the time for camping trips. I will be doing a owners review soon.. about how it's such a great tent camping car !
By the way, in May, 2021 I took delivery of the Unicorn, the , Supersonic XSE PP, slightly below MSRP, from a dealer less than a half mile from my home. It arrived in time for both the $1700 state credit and $9500 federal. The car never ceases to delight me. Shout-out to Star Toyota of Bayside, NY
I didn't get the California tax credit.. but was lucky enough to get the federal tax credit. We wanted the Magnetic Grey one. We absolutely love it. Just bought an A-Liner, so will be creating lots of content around towing that with my Prime.
Thanks, good info. Try running the mic cable inside your shirt and pull it out below the second button down. Clip it there. It's the way the pro's do it.
Hm.. thanks so much for the advice... I'll try it!!!
You are awesome!! I live in Seattle and they do not sell them in Wa. I called dealerships in OR and they wanted to slap on around $12,000 over MSRP. Super crazy!! Now the hunt is on! Thanks for the tips!
Truly hope you have luck. I honestly created the video to help others, but it has gotten so many views, I worry that my tips won't be of use now. Still, I hope you have success. I also called a lot of Oregon dealerships without success.
@@GoldenK9Campers ….Good point about not being able to find one because you let people know how to search. I’ve been keeping quiet because I found a dealer that won’t charge above MSRP, but they are 100 miles away. My local Toyota won’t order one for me.

@@quincysmith1534 Quincy and A1 Toyota we're a pleasure to deal with !! Make the drive to New Haven.. visit Niagara Falls on the way home like I did.
I as well started my search for a red XSE with PP package. I need it be under 50k msrp as MA does the rebate for under 50k cars. I am Plymouth MA and I am willing to go a few hundred miles up and down. FYI I lived a bout 4 miles awy from A1 Toyota. I was on six waiting lists. Got my RAV4 Prime XSE with Premium package at MSRP in December 2021. Very pleased with the vehicle and the buying experience at West Herr in Buffalo! The salesperson even let me test drive their personal vehicle!
Nice.. Thanks for sharing !!
We just got one, the exact one we wanted (SE) also in upstate NY, also paid MSRP, was on 3 waiting lists since Jan/Feb and two dealers came through at the end of April. Every one of the dozen plus dealers I spoke with said they were charging MSRP.
@@flt528 Congratulations!! You're gonna love it !!
@@flt528 Is there a list of dealers that sell at MSRP without markup or did you call each individually to get that info?
Thank you so much for putting this video out--super helpful when my time comes. I was told by a Toyota dealer here in the Maricopa County, Arizona (Phoenix and the surrounding suburbs) that even if they could get one, the dealer would mark it up by at least $10K-$12K. This was exceptionally valuable information, and thank you again! Joel in Arizona
Thanks. As far as I know (when I last checked) Arizona was not getting primes. Closest to you is probably Colorado. But Colorado is marking up. You need to look back east for sure. Nevada is not getting them either.
@@GoldenK9Campers No worries there--I'd either have it shipped, or, like you pointed out, go have some fun with a road trip on the way back! Now, if I could just get one before the federal tax credit goes away, but I may have waited too long! We'll see. Thank you!
@@Jmaninaz1 Got a couple of months.. Good luck my AZ friend. Road trip !!
I am lucky that I live near Longo. Sadly, they stopped taking reservations ($500 refundable deposit) since it is about a two year wait. Thank you for the video, though, really informative!
Someone else mentioned that. I know Toyota had plans to really ramp up production, but so many things have happened in the world to make this near impossible. I'm still hoping that somehow things will get better. I was so fortunate to buy when I did. It's still not impossible, but it's much more difficult when I tried to buy. And it was hard then !!
Thank you for sharing your video. I guess the only disadvantage of buying a vehicle from out of stae is the dealer incentive like free oil changes for a year or two to some. Besides that I agree with your tips and also at times buying from out of state is sometimes cheaper than in state.
We still do get the free oil changes direclty from Toyota. It's a little bit of a hastle.. but it can be fun (road trtip). We are purchasing a Toyota Tacoma Hybrid Max next year.. and will likely have to go out of state as well.
Thanks for this. I'm an admin for Official Rav4 Prime Group and will pin a link
Hey Joe!! I've got an updated video that takes into account the updated EV tax credit law. You should pin that one. Thanks so much !!
Thanks for the tips!
Thanks.. Hope it helps !
We purchased our RAV 4 Prime SE with the Weather and Moonroof package at MSRP with no dealer add on's March 7th. Placed our Order in the beginning of Feb. With the Fed Tax Credit ($7,500) and Oregon EV rebate of $2,500 the final price is the same as a RAV 4 Hybrid perhaps even a little less. 40+ MPG just on gas and a real world 40+ miles just on electric a no brainer in my book.
Nice !! Love that Oregon rebate . Absolutely love this vehicle.
From which Dealer?
@@TheSandysrivastava Lums Toyota, Warrenton Or. Talked to my sales agent yesterday they sell at MSRP and wait now for a RAV 4 Prime is 6+ months.
@@alfontana6242 Lucky you.
July 23, 2022, I found a 2022 RAV4 PRIME with May 2022 inspection sticker at a big Toyota dealership in Tyson's Corner, VA, in their used cars section.
I asked them, how does a new RAV4 PRIME go to being a used car in two months? You'd think the original owner would have it for a while. Right?
Answer: we paid him to sell it. What? That's right. Everyone is flipping them. We paid the owner to sell so we could flip it for a huge markup.
I asked, have you ever heard about the great Tulip speculative bubble in 17th century Holland? They said no. I said ok, see you later. I will keep watching this market.
It's crazy out there. The economy is tanking though. Won't be long till they'll be lots of cars on lots. Just look at the RV dealers. There sucking wind now.
THANK YOU!
I hope it help !! I've seen lots of folks starting to get them on the RAV4 Prime facebook group, so perhaps Toyota is upping manufacturing and shipping !!
thx for sharing your list...
I hope it helps.
I've contacted almost all of the dealerships in MD. Of those that actually responded with useful information (and a surprising number did not), all are charging well over MSRP, up to $12,000, for unreserved vehicles that are in transit. The lowest markup I found is $5000 with a $2000 trade-in bonus, at Heritage Toyota, so I'm going with that. They are also the only ones I came across that know how to communicate effectively. The vehicle is now at the port and should be here within 2 weeks. Only other choice is to wait up to 6 months, which wasn't an option for me.
Good job in finding one. I heard Toyota had to shut down a number of plants in Japan. Not sure if the Prime was affected or not. Definitely a challenging situation right now. I was definitely lucky that I got one when I did!
My local dealership told me they can get a RAV4 prime for me. The good news they did get me one but it had them 100 miles on the odometer and they said it’s slightly used. So it is a used car and the manufactured retail price was almost $50,000. They told me that they will sell it to me for $70,000. Then I talked to the boss and the boss says we can go down a few thousand dollars. I told them I will ride my bike and keep my 2008 Prius That gets 50 miles per gallon. I’m onto them and done with them. So I decided I will wait a couple more years and go all electric then I don’t have to deal with all the service required with internal combustion engines. Thank you for informative video but I just don’t wanna deal with dealerships anymore.
I don't blame you. We would have gone all electric as well, but since we travel so much.. and the infrastructure isn't in place yet, we had to go plugin. I see those tesla charging stations totally full, especially in popular travel locations. Sorry that your dealership screwed with you. That's BS.
Wait a couple of years?? Toyota bZ4X arriving at my dealership in just a couple of months. We have a growing list on those too.
I wonder if this list is the same for the Prius Prime! Great information👍
I have an updated video with an updated list - ruclips.net/video/d8YGO4Tazmg/видео.html
Hi grate video thanks for sharing
Thanks so much !!
Oh..thanks so much for subscribing to my channel. I really appreciate it!!
Thank you for the buying tips. Must I always return to the Toyota dealership where I purchased my vehicle to take advantage of ToyotaCare?
Nope.. any Toyota Dealership. I actually bought my car in connecticut and live in las vegas. No issues at all. I bought my extended warranty at another dealer for. much cheaper than the original dealer. Saved a bundle.
Just have a local dealer salesman call you when they come in. That's how I got mine. Granted I was there 20 minutes after the phone call signing papers
I had no local dealer. Closest dealer that got prime's was 350 miles away. I live in Nevada, and so far we've got one. Glad you we're able to get one !!
Excellent
Thanks
Corwin Toyota in Colorado Springs (the one on Motor City Drive) does not charge a markup on Primes. I put down my 1k deposit in mid December 2021 and now I'm #5 on the list for the SE model, XSE has a longer waiting list. My sales guy is Tyler.
Awesome.. You must be tingling in anticipation !!
Oh.. I was at Fort Carson for two years. Such a beautiful area !!
My local Toyota wants $10k mark up. Very discouraging. Thank you for the tips
That sucks.. Good luck!! With the economy being what it is.. maybe things will get better soon. Don't lose hope!!
Great video. Can you sleep in the rav 4 prime with climate control on all night or all day without it turning off with the doors locked from inside? I can do it in my 2017 Prius for car camping in Ready mode.
I really don't see why not. I saw a video about sleeping in the RAV4 Prime with climate control (using the HOLD AC Button on the remote).. And saw you asked the same question (good job on being diligent!!). I was trying to find a video that specifically answered your question. However.. when you have it in ready mode and are parked.. not moving.. the display will ask you if you want to keep the car on.. or autoatically turn off. It will automatically turn off in an hour.. unless you select keep on.
Found a Rav4 Prime SE, they'd go 3k above MSRP, however Im looking for an XSE and found one for 3.5k above MSRP, Dealer refused to drop to 3k over MSRP. I found a Highlander Hybrid for no markup, and about $850 cheaper. You think in the long run the highlander would be better? Better towing(3.5k capacity), more cargo space, 7 seats, bigger overall?
If we didn't get the tax rebate.. we might have been better off getting the Highlander. Better for towing our A-Liner. I would miss the power of the Prime though. There are lots of dealers that sell the prime at MSRP.. you just have to travel.
Thank you for ...
Your welcome
Your video was awesome is there a way I could text or email you some questions? You gave us new hope on getting our Prime!!
Just ask your questions right here.. I'll respond. One thing to know... I heard from reliable sources that once Biden signs the bill (maybe he already has), supposedly the federal tax incentive that would apply towards RAV4 Prime's will be null and void. Vehicles to be eligible must be manufactured in North America.
Hello hi, you said you bought in Connecticut, how much was the wait time when you ordered one? For me they said 6-8 months wait time at msrp
I bought from A1 Toyota. The sales person posted here. I only waited a couple of months but they had an allocation that wasn't spoken for when I called them. I'm not sure if someone backed out or why they had an open allocation.
Hi- I'm starting my search for my Rav4 prime. Do you suggest I go through the same list you provided? It seems like you landed at a dealership in New Haven and I wonder if all the other dealerships you contacted just didn't have any. Do they get continuous shipments in throughout the year? thank you in advance for your help.
My wife wanted a specific color and trim. There were lots of other dealers I contacted which had allocations of other trims/colors. You can use the same list but focus on large dealers on the east coast.. also focus on allocations..
Hi Debbie. Our list is now growing rapidly. We do get these allocated often and more than some other dealers. Would you like to have a conversation with me? Start at quincys@a1toyota.com

The markup wasn't horrible, around 5k so my out of the door price is 56k and some change.
How can I download an updated list of their inventory like you did? Or must I call on everyone of them?
I didn't download a list of their inventory, I downloaded what dealers we're allocated in 2021. Concentrate on the top dealers close to where you live or on the east coast. Almost every Rav4 Prime wil be sold before it get's to a lot. So you're looking for dealers with large allocations, and putting a deposit on one.
Thank you for making this video. What kind of roof gives you 5 inches more head room (I couldn’t understand the term you used)? I also want the headroom for dogs, one of whom is 36 inches high at the top of his head. Does the read seat fold flat, or is it on an incline? I’m wondering how much headroom there if in the rear with the seats folded. I have yet to find one of these cars to look at. Thanks again for the video.
The Rav4 SE without the moonroof gives you 6-7 inches more headroom than the SE with the moonroof. Also, the XSE with premium package gives you a lot more headroom than the SE with Moonroof. The moonroof on the SE.. the roof is notched to fit the sliding moonroof.. so it takes a lot of the headroom away. I have two golden retrievers. and was concerned with the headroom in the cargo area. The rear seat "doesn't" quite fold flat. Probably about a 4 inch incline. Not that big of a deal.. but it does cut down on headroom. The prime is almost identical to a regular Rav4.. soi I'd suggest you take a look at a regular Rav4.. and see the differences in headroom. I pretty much decided not to get a rav4 when I looked at the one with the moonroof. I then saw one that had no moonroof.. and the difference in headroom was pretty dramatic. If you open up the headliner on the one with the panoramic moonroof.. then you get lots of extra space as well. I hope this explanation helps. Thanks for the comments..
@@GoldenK9Campers are you sure about 6-7” headroom loss with a moonroof? On most cars it’s only a few inches and mostly in the front row.
@@MechayaAlta Yep.. It's significant.. In front row and especially in the 2nd row. We never use the 2nd row, always have the seats down for our dogs in the cargo area. The sunroof significantly impacted headroom for our dogs.
@@GoldenK9Campers thanks. I’m a car camper, so this information is very useful to me. My neighbor has a Honda crv hybrid. It’s seat folds nearly flat, and even with a sunroof I can sit up in the back without hitting my head (I’m 6 ‘ tall).
@@MechayaAlta The CRV's seats fold very flat.. and under most situations give more headroom than the prime. I spent a lot of time comparing those two. The CRV's cargo area is a little lower and really is pretty amazing. We we're thinking about the hybrid. But towing was something we needed, and it can't tow hardly anything. Was also really considered a pilot/passport, and it also has amazing headroom.. but gas mileage was the issue. If headroom is an issue.. really consider a base SE (without moonroof package - hard to find.. only available in Northeast areas) or the XSE with premium package.
My problem is that my state isn’t a ZEV state, in the west. When I contact dealerships in California most of them won’t sell to me because I’m out of state! Or they don’t have any more allocation and don’t know when they’ll get more!
You need to look back east. As I mentioned, I got mine from Connecticut (when things we're easier than they are today). Still lots of folks getting primes. Look at dealers in Upstate New York.
I just tested a red Prime Premium in Thousand Oaks today. It was available for $50,000. It will go fast. It’s a nice driving car but the infotainment is really outdated. Hopefully Toyota will update this in 2023. I love Golden Retrievers! They all act alike.
I agree on the infotainment. Definitely needs updating. I really don't like the Nav system. Golden's are the best.
It's insane that some waiting times are almost two years now. In two years PHEV and BEV market might be completely different. Including new Toyota offerings.
That's so true. There are so many great electric offerings coming out. The new Kia and Hyundai EV's are awesome. They charge so fast, are comfortable, and will keep up with Tesla's. The charging infrastructure still isn't there though.. and I need to tow.
Thanks for the tips! Back on October 2nd, 2021 I made a deposit of $500 with my local dealer to get into the waiting list for a Rav4 Prime. After 7 months, I am still waiting. Anyway, they claim they only charge for the MSRP but I still see a "delivery processing and handling fee of $1,215. This this reasonable?
The standard destination fee is $1,215. Assuming the "deliver processing and handling fee" is what that is. If that's the case.. that's standard.
Excellent job, well done!!
Even though I knew what the outcome would be, I ended up getting hold of one of the larger ones on the East cost - Hoselton Toyota out of Rochester NY. The out of state mark up was $2500 and you can put a $500 deposit down but the estimate was 9-12 months... To me, the wait time was expected, and personally i'm more interested to see what updates Toyota will do to the 2023 anyway... but for the Tax-Credit, its essentially a no-go. Also, don't like the out of state Mark Up. (which was actually a LOT less than most dealers I have spoken with).
Contact A1 Toyota. No markup. The waiting list is about the same.. maybe shorter.
@@GoldenK9Campers Just sent them a message. I was actually surprised how fast Hoselton contacted me today! Especially when they have ZERO incentive to push hard or fast, since they have ZERO on their lot and won't have anything for a long time, they come and go fast.... What i'd be interested in, is finding a similar allocation list for Subaru (and finding out what they all might be allocated for the Solterra, since Subaru will still have the tax-credit for a long time).
@@motch6182 Get a hold of quincy smith. He was my salesman. He's commented on this video quite a bit.

No markups here at A-1 Toyota. No out-of-state customer fee. #1 Volume hybrid dealership in Connecticut.
In Jun 2021 I got Rav4 LE at below MSRP but now the same dealership is selling for more. It's really difficult at this time
It's bad out there. But there are still some dealerships that are ethical and won't take advantage of the current situation we're in.
This is true and I completely understand how you feel. Keep in mind, that the value of your vehicle is higher than usual too.
What about just factory ordering it from a local dealer for MSRP? I don't mind waiting for them to build it...
As far as I know there is no such thing as factory ordering. A salesman "might" say that you can do that. But in reality.. dealers get what they get from Toyota.
@@GoldenK9Campers Actually yeah factory ordering is a thing but not for Japanese cars. You can do it with EU and US. TBH I don't have access to a garage anyway (street parking) so I'll just get the hybrid for now and may upgrade down the road. Cheers
@@seancullen99 The hybrid is nice. It's lighter and pretty zippy!!
Curious about the tax you have to pay. Can you tell us if you used a Connecticut address?
As I mentioned i'm from Las Vegas and bought out of state. Got Temporary movement tags. They collected sales tax for me and sent to my DMV. Seamless transaction.
Sales tax is based on registering address.
A dealership asked for a $500 deposit, which is non-refundable unless I don't get a car within the agreed upon timeframe (they say 6-12 months... I'll obviously have to get more clarification on that). Do you think that's a red flag?
I had a Kia Dealership ask for that when I was looking at Telluride's. There trying to ensure you don't go somewhere else or make multiple deposits with other dealers. Given the demand.. they certainly won't have trouble finding another customer. I don't see it as a red-flag necessarily, but would probably look elsewhere. Depends on how close they are, how many Prime's they get, and how quickly you want one. Thanks for the quesiton/comment!!
@@GoldenK9Campers That's really helpful, thank you!
@@lickitgreaseit You bet !!

It wasn't done yet. Still.. the Hybrid is sweet. I drove when before I got the prime. @@renoallstate4573 I traveled 3500 miles.. All hybrid cept for the first 30 miles or so. I was at 38 mpg until I hit wyoming and utah.. where the speed limit was in the 75-80 mph. That blew my gas mileage. Think I ended up at 36 if I remember correctly.
Keep trying. It has gotten more difficult since he bought his, but not impossible.
Longo Toyota has 8 month wait but so what. Just get on the list with $500 deposit and they'll get you one.
What weird requirements did Longo toyota have?
Couple of things. They didn't me allow me to do any sort of financing. And they said I could not get a loan from any bank or credit union, it had to be a personal check without a loan. And the other thing, which isn't really their fault, but if I was to drive it off their lot as opposed to having it shipped, I would have to pay california sales taxes (no big deal) but because california sales tax was higher than Nevada's, I would have to pay that, and they said I wasn't eligible for any refund of the difference through my local DMV. That.. and the fact that there was a huge waiting list, I looked elsewhere (a long ways away).
@@GoldenK9Campers thanks for the info and great video, I’m on the waitlist and they never mentioned anything weird about financing to me. Also I do live in California so maybe that’s what they tell the out of state customers?
@@AdamAnalytical Yep.. could be. It's great that they are still doing msrp though !
I live in Canada and have been waiting for 1 year and 4 months with still no idea when ill get it... just beyond ridiculous
I agree !!
I did a Canada once or twice. it was a little tricky but we got it done.
@@quincysmith1534 what?
I called many dealerships outside my state (AZ) and they told me they don’t sell to individuals outside of that state.
I did hear that many dealerships are saying this. I don't know how widespread this is. Given that Toyota still isn't selling to all states, I would think this is more of a dealer practice rather than a new practice coming from Toyota corporate. As I recommend in my video, i'd focus on the largest dealers on the east coast.
We do. A1 Toyota.
@@quincysmith1534 is there any or will there be any in stock?
We do have a running list. Color flexible 4-6 months. We have them coming all the time.
@@quincysmith1534 yes I’m flexible on the color I’d like to get on this list. Should I inquire on the site?
With the limited production of Prime vehicles from Toyota with most dealers getting 3-4 vehicles each month all of the dealers have responded by adding a $5,000 upcharge. And the vehicles are fully loaded and only XSE models coming into California. This month we paid $56,000 for our Rav4 Prime without the premium package.
Congrats on the new car. Sucks that you had to pay above MSRP, but the RAV4 Prime is a great vehicle.
Any chance, you can give me contact information where you purchased your Prime. I've been looking for a while and no luck so far. I live in Illinois
Sure!! A1 Toyota in New Haven, Connecticut. Ask for Quincy !!
Thank You!!!! How do you like your Prime so far?
@@vmagroup1 Love it.. watch my review video!!
can you provide the name of your salesperson? I'm in the market for a rav4 prime i would like to give him a call to see if they have any available, thanks
They Don't. Think they have a 6-8 month waiting list. But you can call A1 Toyota in New Haven, Connecticut. Ask for Quincy.
@@GoldenK9Campers I just called and they said one year waiting , if I wanna be in the list 500 deposit, 😔
@@miltonbernal7344 That's about right. Things will probably change fast now that the Federal Tax Credit is no longer available, and the economy is tanking. I'd wait a month of so.. and then start calling around. I'll be creating an updated video in a few weeks on this topic to include using the allocation spreadsheet that's pretty widely available. It will be on my new channel focusing on Cars and Technology.
Hi 👋 you have to give me the recipe or at least the name of who you did business with so I can also have one of my dreams come true. All the primes i have seen have high price more than MSRP. Greetings from Connecticut
Hi Bianca. I went to A1 Toyota in New Haven, Connecticut. I have sent lots of business there way and I think they have quite a waiting list now. Good Luck.
Love the video, but a cross country road trip is a rough way to break in a vehicle.
Thanks!! Took it really easy on it the first 500 miles. And did an early oil change.. Runs like a champ !
Toyota's don't need breaking in. They come ready to perform.
I have had customers ship the vehicle once purchased, as opposed to a cross country road trip.
@@quincysmith1534 Can you help me buy one?
@@sudarshan5331 i can assist you.
Tell us about some of the weird requirements
It was probably because I was purchasing from out of state. Said they wouldn't let me finance.. or finance from any other bank or credit union.. Had to pay all cash. Also said california collected sales tax.. and because the sales tax was higher in california than nevada, I had to pay more.. and they said california wouldn't refund the difference to my Nevada DMV.
@@GoldenK9Campers I have ran into the same thing here in GA. I bought a XSE Rav4 hybrid, about a week ago and my own financing. So basically, I was paying cash and they were like no, we are not accepting all cash or outside financing. We are only accepting finale through the dealership. I thought that was super weird also. So I actually did go out of state to SC and bought my XSE Rav4 hybrid with no problems at all. But I must say after seeing the Prime, I kind of want the Prime lol
@@marilynnscorner345 The Hybrid is nice. If we didn't tow.. and we didn't have the tax incentive.. that's probably what we would have gotten.
I wish There was a sheet for canadians
I hear ya. I just tried to find anything. Nada. It looks almost impossible to get a RAV4 Prime in Canada.
I put a deposit down for a delivery in 3 years….
@@aunnieboy Yikes.
Thanks so much for the list but so far all of them are selling above MSRP . What a shame. I can't believe people would pay over 🤦
I'm so sorry. This video is getting a bit old.. and probably most of the dealers at the top of the list may be selling above MSRP now. I don't know where you're located..but i'd recommend focusing on the North Atlantic states... i.e, maine, massachusetts, etc. Give it a shot and let me know.
@@GoldenK9Campers one more question. Are you able to prewarm or cool the car before you depart using the onboard computer? I don't want to purchase the app or use the key fob .
@@anthonyg8435 This video seemed to indicate that you can schedule the heating to go along with charging via the onboard computer, but if you want to preheat or cool the cabin at a certain time, supposedly you need to use the app. I've never tried this. ruclips.net/video/atfAT2Vbzj0/видео.html
@@GoldenK9Campers thanks for the video. This is a big one for me as I live in Michigan and will need the car pre-warmed before I take my daughter to school. Especially because I will only be using EV mode and do not want the ICE on during our drive.
@@anthonyg8435 In order to heat the cabin in very cold weather, the prime will turn on the ICE. I'm not sure which temperature it does this, but heat pumps are not effective in cold weather below about 37 degrees.
Nice Detail , but i do not recommend MSRP , that is why i am not buying any vehicle in this or next year due to supply chain and quality issues with vehicles.
my formula is simple .
i search cars on dealer website , the one i am looking , i contact them with dealer web listed stock number .
i ask for 5% off of MSRP , and offer them on the road price .
thats dealer headache to add all sales tax , state registration , delivery charges etc .
i never paid one extra penny of -% 5 of MSRP .
dont waste time with dealers , call them and give them stock number , give them price , if they agree , give your info and take a car .
test drive , check any issue because many vehicles ,during delivery get damage so make sure no body work .
call same dealer different times too , because sometime sales man act like asshole .
Good process, but depending on the vehicle, 5% off MSRP might be a bargain, and might not be. I tend to look at invoice price, and discount from there. It's really is dependent on the vehicle. There are so many variable (geographic location, time of year, time of month, demand, etc). Yes, right now it's bad, but depending on the vehicle you what you want, there are still deals to be had out there.
@@GoldenK9Campers you are right , but my experience , those deals that dealer offer these are fake , these things they use for attracting customers , i used many employee discount websites and many offers but never got successful , but yes you can get discounts such as if you work in Army or veteran etc .
There are active military rebates and college grad programs. Depending on the vehicle in discussion, demanding a discount may be an obsolete way of buying a vehicle. 2 years later, I am still trying to purchase a PS5 without over paying for it, let alone a new car.
I can't get my mind to spend $50k for a rav4
You don't have to. Get an SE model. The prime is such a unique vehicle with it's plugin-hybrid drivetrane. There is nothing out there like it currently.
Just get the SE, only about 40-41k
Good LUCK. Two year wait in Canada. Maybe shorter in the US because Americans are still scared of hybrids..like 😷😆
It's tough here too.
These new ravs have gotten so expensive fron the first ones in the mid 90s but it's all part of the PLANDEMIC .😎
Everything is more expensive. The prime at least has a very innovative drivetrane, and with the tax rebate I think it's a bargain. Especially if you go for a lower trim.
@@GoldenK9Campers …H&R Block said at this point there is no tax credit for the year 2023 models
