@@steve1697 Well I know history good enough and we are here talking hypotheticaly. And if you know history as well as I do you would know that Lower Saxony and some parts of Germany (e.g. Schleswig-Holstein) are culturaly more close to Netherlands or Denmark than other parts of Germany.
Problem with people is that when you say Germany they imagine Munich or Bavaria, as main stereotype for Germany without any clue how diverse this country is.
In addition Netherland and Germany have very close military and economic cooperation and are both germanic countries with similar languages. In every possible way they are more close than Germamy and Belgium.
@@MarK-ly2ml Fair point, but wouldn't it make more sense then that the former 'low german' speaking parts would rather go with NL or Denmark? Niedersachsen is quite similar but with just the similarities between the east of NL and west of germany you will never get people from the holland regions on board with such ideas. Therefore still very implausible imo.

It makes sense seeing as they speak both Dutch and French respectively. I just don't want both of those to become independent countries of their own. Netherlands already has a gdp of over a trillion, and with the port of Antwerpen they too can become an economic powerhouse.
