That is my Father's village. Looks like the tide is high so you did not get to see the mud or what they consider like a quick sand type lake. It smells horrible when it's muddy.lol If you want to learn more details on the history of Aunu'u it wouldn't hurt to pay one of the locals to give you a tour. There's a mango tree at the very top of the mountain and you can get a great view of the red lake which is called "vaisuatoto". That mango tree was the village evacuation meeting point if there was a major hurricane. I have so many fond memories visiting Aunu'u... Thank you for sharing your visit.
Thank you for your comments and for sharing with us the details regarding the lake and the mango tree.. I hope I can come back in 2020 during my next Pacific Ocean tour..
Gorgeous video, Vic. I have indeed watched all of your Samoa and American Samoa videos and absolutely love your work! Great stuff, Sir...thank you for producing them!!
If you visit Pala Lake on Google Maps, it looks like a crap ton of dead fish in the water. Also many of the trees around the perimeter of the lake look dead. I wonder what happened there?
I doubt if Red Lake is a salt water lake and that is because it is in the centre of the crater and higher than the surface of the ocean, it consists of rain water collected over the thousands of years since the volcano was created. The trees in the first lake that you saw (Pala Lake) is lightly salted and the trees that you saw were not dead, there were hundreds of trees with leaves and thriving..
OK Vic,,,, I believe you're in possession of some sort of " Tela-Port-Tation device ! I have informed the authorities and they will conducting an investigation on your warp speed traville videos.

I like how you are uploading content from areas of the world that are not documented!
You are right, I try to document places around our beautiful planet that few people get to see... thank you for viewing my videos!!
It indeed my island that he's portraying!
I think that the dead trees resulted from salt water infiltration. Did you taste the water?
