Sony does not seem to think so, otherwise they would not abandon the Sony PSP/Vita line of devices...it is now January 29, 2025 CE and we have yet to see a competition from Sony to match the Nintendo Switch or the upcoming (hopefully beefier, stronger) Nintendo Switch 2.

I should have kept my old Sony Psp and a few titles (UMD's) because now I have no way to experience Gangs of London, Gun: Showdown (never owned that title but would loke to), Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings (owned but never finished), GTA LCS and GTA VCS, GTA Chinatown Wars,Polarium,Patapon,2006, 2010 FIFA World Cup, MK: Unchained, etc. without lag (with an emulator).
