2000 miles away from home at Sturgis 84th Rally Had a terrible noise in what sounded like my transmission. Looked up noise and luckily found Lyle's Video with how to fix my problem. I showed up the next morning and they took care of it right away 3 hours later I was back on the road. couldn't have been happier great price too. was able to stay and ride for another week before heading back home. Bike feels better then ever. Thank you
A huge thanks to Lyle and this product. Although I had my compensator replaced with the S.E. compensator on my '09 Road King several years ago, about a year ago I started hearing a clunking noise from my primary when I'd let out the clutch, I thought it might be the clutch basket going out (over 70k miles), so I replaced it, and it was marginally better, but the clunking noise was still prevalent and after watching this video, I thought maybe this would help, and man did it, clutch engagement & acceleration is so much smoother and linear, I also noticed that when I begin to decelerate and pull in the clutch, the engine feels smoother, the engine used to shutter/shake a bit upon deceleration. A rather big gain for the price, I installed the part myself, so I didn't incur any labor costs, just the cost of the part, the primary oil & gasket. A huge thumbs up. 👍
Lyle is the best mechanic to work on my bike. Took care of me two years ago during Sturgis rally. Completely sold me on using ATF in my primary. Incredible difference.
The timkens have a preload from the factory . It is important to torque back to specs when reassembling for bearing longevity. Ive watched people use an impact and overtorque the sprocket shaft bolt . Soon after they developed crank movement from timkens being hammered . I mean if you pull pusdhrods from the valve train you dont mix them up. Your bearings especially after run in are happiest running the preload torque spec.
On my 103 TC Ultra limited with some 45.000 miles on it, The big Disk with the Hex and sprocket insert broke. I don´t even have more power, than how it was originally sold. Yet I think Harley Davidson quality is better, than it was back when the first Evos got delivered or even before.
**** Lyle, there is no link from which to order and the reference to Speed pros brings me to an automotive site. A lot of the comments below are facing the same issue.
Hey there ..Great video. I was wondering since you put a thicker more beveled spring in the comp. Wondering if that puts the front sprocket out of alignment with the back sprocket? (IE: Stack height of front sprocket) I think you have the older style ramp from the 2016 models which is thicker that the M8s also. So yeah...would this make the front sprocket and chain out of alignment with the back sprocket. Cheers
I'm with you when you use a stronger spring to keep the compensator within original design range of motion for higher horsepower bikes.. but does adding one stiffer / thicker diaphragm spring just transfer the movement to the thinner plates? Shouldn't all the diaphragm springs be equally as strong to spread out the tension?
Hi, Obviously you shouldn't be able to turn the comp. by hand, but how much force should be needed to rotate up and down the ramp with a locking bar in place?? Thanks
hey brother, great vid. do you have a stronger spring pack for 2005, the older style comp? it sounds like a 1977 chevy 350, with the 37 G Andrews gears, i have in her( 2005 15th anniv fatboy,silver,95; 1550cc) ok, ty in advance.
Would a sign of a bad compensator include rattling/vibration felt through the footboards when the accelerator is released while traveling in gear. Also the bike slows down like if the brakes are gently applied. I checked all engine mounts l, which are in tact
I have a '16 Road Glide Ultra. I hear an intermittent clunk in the primary at idle. The clutch action is great, but when starting it's like it hits a compression stroke, stalls then turns over and starts. My first Harley. It has 14,500 miles. Compensator? I'm pulling the primary cover this week.
Hi I have a 17 sg when I accelerate or lift off throttle it makes a clunking sound would fix that or would I need to do compensater also. When I say clunk I meant it's like clunk clunk clunk. No issues starting or shifting but definitely something wrong
I have a 07 street glide with a brand new screaming eagle compensator and its still making a little clatter would the thicker spring take care of the rattling?
I have a 2010 FLHTCU 96" and I get a quick squeak, just for a split second when I'm rolling down the road and let go of the throttle. It's coming from the compensator area. Suggestions?

What part are you referring to?.
@@sh839c The compensator spring.

How do I get one of these springs? Thanks
That was incredibly helpful. Thanx
wish mine was the latter style compensator instead of the 2008.... much easier fix.... thanks for the video !

So no response to this?? Pretty sure it's going to be out of alignment....
I thought the same thing as I was watching the video.
yes, was thinking the same, he didnt even measure with a micrometer!! asap.
I like rekluce over Barnett but isnt it very important to.not use impack on compensator due to possibly breaking magnets on stator from vibration?
Hit the show transcript link above for Lyle Larsons phone number to order the spring. Good job Lyle! I like the Transmission fluid tip. Thnx!

I just got a 13 street glide and rode it a few hundred miles and now it’s doing the same thing . Did you ever find anything out ?
will this work on a 2007 heritage?
Good morning i am wondering would you ship to Australia and how much would the compensator spring cost and shipping
I have a 07 street glide with a brand new screaming eagle compensator and its still making a little clatter would the thicker spring take care of the rattling?
Can you do the same thing in a 96”?
Do you have one for a 2007 Ultra classic and should I run ATF in it?

My 01 road king classic has a squeak and it’s annoying af don’t know where it’s coming from
What mileage should the ATF be changed?
What's the best cam for a bone stock 2011 FLHTCUSE6 Ultra Glide???
I can’t believe he didn’t clean the threads off before the lock tight.
What kind of payments do you take?
Buongiorno ottimo lavoro. Mi puoi lasciare il link per la molla piccola. Quella che hai sostituito tu.grazie buona giornata

If he ever answers you... could you let me know ,too. Thanx
Buongiorno complimenti. Mi manda il link della molla. Grazie buona giornata
Which compensator ramp are you running?
