They had a one-time look like they were working on the ability to record to a central hard disk using a peripheral. However that was several years ago at looks like they may have abandoned the project.
I use my camera for outdoor use plugged into a power source for motion detection up under my gutter for over a year to watch my vehicles and it absolutely suits and does the job fine. Daytime you can pretty well recognize the usual passer byes and you can zoom in on the subject if they should stop near your vehicles to get a closer look to see if they are up to no good. Night vision works well also, but I wish it worked a little better at further distance to were i could watch guest parking spots. I review and delete the 12 sec motions daily. And use a 32 GB SD card. To me it was a well worth investment for the price or piece of mind having to go to a window to check everytime I herd a group of kids playing near the vehicles
Thank you for your video and review, one of the better ones around. Two notes I would like to make: 1) Almost no one reviews the PC interface for these cameras, something I would like to see change. Much as everyone else loves their phone, I am still a PC person, and prefer the generally more fulfilling feel of one. I doubt that I am the only one. 2) More demonstration/testing of the motion tracking should have been included, especially since this is the main reason one would get this type of camera, in general, as opposed to the stationary kind. Otherwise, a good job.
The reason you don't see any one showing the PC interface for this camera is because there is none. It is one of the short comings of the camera. As for more panning footage I did create a separate video for all the sample footage: ruclips.net/video/cIB7IFW68hQ/видео.html.
Thanks for the link! BTW, there are some possibilities for a PC interface, though none are from Wyze, unless you count using an Android emulator to load the Wyze App onto your PC. Supposedly Wyze will come out with one of their own, some time soon. I haven't tried any (including the emulator), yet, but these are the other ones I have found so far: tinyCam (free version with ads, or $5), Ai-HomeGuard ($30, also available on Amazon), and Blue Iris ($30/one camera, $50/up to 64 cameras).
I've heard of tinycam before . Generally when I do reviews like this I try to stick to what is only available from the manufacturer . But thank you for the info .

Can I use the USB from back of camera and connect to router for better connection? I placed 4 cameras outdoors and shortly after believe they're interfering with my Wyze connection. Otherwise, great job.
@@cab6092 It was for the wyze bridge. Which was the original way that Wyze was going to run the connected home items like contact sensors and motion sensors. They have disconnected that and moved to a central hub. So really it is just a left over port for something they tired. The Pan cam v2 does not have the USB port on the back of it.
Does the camera make any noise when it is panning or turning side to side. I thought that I heard it make a grinding type noise in the video? Thank you
I am not sure I understand the question. If you have a SD card in the camera it will keep recording what it sees to that. If you are getting stuttering during play back of a video you may need to either move it to its own wifi connection or limit the amount of things accessing wifi at the same time you are trying to look at the video.
Has it recorded full days after that? Normally in circumstances like this I would recommend reformatting the SD card. But doing that will remove all of the data that is on the SD card currently.
We have one, it works great about a year so far. The only problem is We can't get it to work on 2 devices. When we try adding a second device the first stops working.
@@cooliipie it does, but when it scans the other it disconnects the first. My wife keeps it on her phone. I have the Amcrest 1080s, we have 5 throughout the house and property, work great 4 years now
So I have seen. Might have to pick up a few to compare them. From what I can see Roku will have their own app for the smart home stuff, and it can show up right on your Roku TV.
Could this camera be set up from one state, when the camera is in another? ie...seeing a relative in a retirement home when someone sets the camera up partially without a phone app and you finish the setup?

You drove me nuts by always pronouncing WYZE as WAYS. At the end of your video you once offered the correct pronunciation but made it sound like an option. It’s not an option. Otherwise your review was just okay but thanks for the time and effort you put into the project!
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if this is just a piece of sht. It only notifies me when people are walking out of the house, not when someone is walking in. Sometimes it just doesn't notify me at all..

It can not. These use only wifi to connect.

There is a slight motor sound when it moves. That is what you heard.

Does the Wyze cam 2 have a wireless cam?
No both the cam 2 and the pan are both wired. They have recently announced an outdoor cam which will be Wireless.
There is an outdoor chargeable wireless version. they all work great - I have the v2"s, V3" outdoor and doorbell cam. Amazing for the price

It will start at the beginning and rewrite over old files.

Know the setup requires the use of the app. Which has both the camera and the phone setting it up on the same Wi-Fi network.
