Carmen Suleiman VS Original Singers - Disney SONG Battle

- After over a year, I thought let's revisit the Disney Song Battle videos again, for the EIGHTH time, with the Arab Idol winning Egyptian songstress @carmensoliman (or Suleiman), who is best known as the voice of Moana in the Arabic language.
Upon dubbing Moana, she was invited to the Egyptian show "Sahibat Al Saadah" as part of an episode celebrating childhood films and series, as part of which she sang a medley of classic songs from Disney's Renaissance era alongwith some songs from Japanese anime which are popular among Egyptian kids.
Hence, this song battle is between the original singers of the songs which Carmen covered in that show. The battle is divided into 6 rounds, with 2 of the rounds having two sub-parts as the song featured multiple singers: -
Round 1 - Something There - Beauty And The Beast (1991)
Round 2 - A Whole New World - Aladdin (1992)
Round 3 - Can You Feel The Love Tonight - The Lion King (1994)
Round 4 - I Won't Say I'm In Love - Hercules (1997)
Round 5 - You'll Be In My Heart - Tarzan (1999)
Round 6 - Lesson Number One - Mulan 2 (2004)

The thing is... I also adore most of the Arabic voices anyway... But Carmen has such a charming, beautiful voice! ❤️ She sounds incredible in each of them!
I already loved her Moana, but I had never heard her perform live. She has such a stunning voice! So warm and soothing. She did great at every single song.
Ooh thanks for this video! In my opinion, Carmen is currently the best of the younger generation of singers (or at least among those who are famous). Her voice is absolutely a treat to my ears haha.
Now about the rounds, let’s see:
Something There - This is Dalia’s best song I think, but I go with Carmen. I want her to dub Belle in the live action movie so badly!!
A Whole New World - Nahla. Tough one because both singers have very charming voices. I love Carmen there, but Nahla’s voice is just made for Jasmine despite her singing abilities not being extraordinary or something. Authentic describes her best I believe!
TLK soloist - Hmm. Nina’s Danish accent is sooo charming here (unlike in CoL…), and she sounds beautiful (again, unlike in CoL…). So does Carmen. I’ll go with Nina because I’m too used to the song in Arabic with her voice and accent lol.
Nala’s part - Carmen. In this case, I find that their delivery is equal/matched, but I prefer Carmen’s voice overall.
I Won’t Say I’m in Love - This is my least favorite of Gihan’s main roles after Kiara. But I find it’s a tough one to compare because I think Carmen would sound different if she were to sing that part in character as Meg. And she’s singing the muses too at the same time lol. That said, I’ll go with Gihan.
Kala - Carmen. Although it’s kinda unfair here as Kala isn’t supposed to be a singer anyway, as far as I know x)
You’ll Be in My Heart - Am I allowed one draw lol. Both are incredibly touching in their own way. But I will say that Carmen’s rendition is more enchanting
I love Carmen's voice too. I heard some of her own stuff recently and she really does sound very melodic and dynamic, a welcome change from the usual sound of pop singers around the world.

I realize I generalized my first paragraph lol. I meant that I think she’s the best of the younger singers in the Arab World XD not around the world haha.
The thing about Nina is that her pronunciation of the letters is perfect. Like, the throat-y Arabic letters? She produces them perfectly, but then some words are accented especially at the vowels. But she was an interesting choice overall x) and the musical director of TLK was actually part Armenian; it’s a mixed dub lmao.
YES. And I think Carmen’s personality matches Belle 2017 in some ways. I hope they’ll continue dubbing these remakes!

Absolutely agreed. I think there's still not an Arabic dubbing of BatB 2017 available so, fingers crossed for Carmen getting casted as Belle still.

I wish Carmen had sung Colors of the Wind and Reflection.
For YBIMH I just took the video from another RUclips channel which posted all Disney songs in the correct pitch, so I didn't think twice before using this one, but now that you said it, indeed the audio is pitched down, shucks! I wished I noticed it earlier.
And yes, I really wished Carmen sang more classic princess songs as well, including Part Of Your World which I think would've suited her voice so well.

Carmen may not have been the best Moana, but she surely sang really good. Pure talent. Sure, not fitting for every role, but really great singing, so applause for that!
I love Carmen voice but she really needs to work more on her vocal technique...her extended notes doesn’t sounds good
