If you relocate the villagers while they’re still children then you won’t have to worry about them attaching to a work station you pass. You can put the child in a house with the work station of your choice and just wait for them to grow up. Also you can have the villagers farm for you and collect the resources. You would need to build some sort of auto farm. Try looking up a few different videos
There are farms you can make that either use water or villagers to harvest your crops for you. Tons of videos that help you show how to make one. Otherwise villagers are just good for trading and getting emeralds to use to buy their products. You can probably find a chart of what the different villagers trade.
@@morpheusasmrgaming1959you can actually, maybe the farm isn’t close enough but in villages the farmers have an actual animation of them farming, though they don’t really collect the crops for you. The only way to really get them to harvest for you would be with a somewhat complicated hopper system, you could probably find a video tutorial on RUclips like this guy said on how to do it pretty easily
Minecolonies is a mod that allows you to become mayor of your town and have workers do all the hard labor for you. The farmers will farm, fishers will fish, blacksmiths make tools, etc
I thought it was like Age of Empires where the villagers would actually go around doing the different jobs. I thought once I created a farmer he would be in the fields harvesting the crops. Are there any occupations that trade diamonds? The farmer and the Armorer seem to trade a lot centered on Emeralds.

I thought that when I created a farmer animation wise I would actually see them go into the crops and plant and harvest. Sort of like age of empires.
