In Sweden, the dance is known as a "schottis". The name may suggest an origin in the area of Scotland. This is interesting because the Norwegian word used for the same dance is "reinlender", which seems to indicate an origin from the Rhine region. (Wikipedia)
@@TSB12556 The local dancers here don't seem to do a schottische. They do the barn dance instead. We cater to the lowest common denominator in our bush dances. We do have a dance here called The Four Sisters' Barn Dance which I've called (collected from a band of sisters in Sydney some years ago). It's done on the diagonal with a schottische step along the line of dance followed by a step-hop sequence.
This brings me joy everytime I listen to it. So many happy people enjoying themselves. I wish that I could be there to play with you.
Musikk fra saltdal i Nordland. Dette var en reinlender vi spillte i Saltdal spelmannslag. Artig å høre at noen har plukket opp denne reinlenderen
Trevlig melodi som jag tänker lära mig. 😊👌
Excellent , the Irish and Scandinavians have a lot in common when it comes to music.
Absolutely. They are clearly inspired by one another

Sehr fröhliche Musik. Gefällt mir. Noti Pasch
Is there any sheet music of this cosy peace? Nice young people, which is in the Netherlands extremely unusually.
You must search for "Reinlender etter Konrad Evensgård". Or you can try to get in contact with Osterøybelgen.
Problem is already solved. Thanks.
Thankyou. I love this. Will learn the tune, but the dance also looks like fun. How is the dance described? Similar to a barndance or schottische.

@@mrtobbs Thanks for that. How interesting. We have a lot of schottisches in our tradition repertoire here in Australia. The tunes go round and round.
Schottische is what we call it in Wisconsin.
